- Today we are looking at the legendary Chrysler 300! It was introduced in 2005 with a full lineup of different engines and trim levels, and then continued on for the second generation right up until 2023. It was a big car that was luxurious, powered by the Hemi V8 engine, and became beloved by many car enthusiasts around the world. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and Chrysler announced they would no longer be selling the 300 after the 2023 model year. In this video, I also go over 6 major flaws and reasons that I felt caused this car to be cancelled. Watch along for a full history of the 300 from concept in 2004 to its cancellation in 2023!

I am 76 years old. Owned my first car when i was 18. Had many great cars in my time, and a few LEMONS fresh off the show room floor. 2 years ago I purchased a 2019 300C, platinum edition, it was 1 year old and only had 1192 miles on it, fully loaded. Still had the new car smell. I can't tell you how much I love driving this car. Defenately my favorite car so far. Its the dark metallic gray color, and I still have guys coming up to me telling me what a sharp looking car it is. Yes I keep it spotless. The HEMI 5.7 is one main reason I bought it. I love to open it up and flex a little muscle when I get a chance. It is such a part of our American Heritage, and I so much hate to see it end. I will drive it with pride.
I agree with everything you say but the only thing I hate it was the actuators to the air conditioner or heater system they went out so fast and was an expense to fix. I think that was the biggest flaw

Just went to 225,000 miles on my 2012 3.6 (i bought new 10yrs ago) 2 batteries, 1 set of brakes, 2 alternators and have changed all the rockers. Did all this work myself and saved thousands.
Bought my self a Chrysler 300 Touring a few months out of high school in 2018 and in 2022 going into 2023 still going strong
Cancelling that car is a mistake. It is a viable alternative to a class E, series 5, A6, etc. The American automobile industry is not consistent and they are too focus on making money.
You’re right it really provides a good value option if you don’t want to spend money on the German luxury cars. seems like Stellantis especially is trying to go full out on EV stuff to not get left behind, but not sure if it’s the right move

@@MarspeedCars I’m not an automotive engineer but I know that EVs, from a design and manufacturing standpoint, make financial sense. You don’t have to spend millions in R&D and manufacturing of internal combustion engines, don’t need to comply with emissions, don’t need to buy lubricants, dispose them, etc. Also, electric motors design and battery manufacturing will be done, maybe, by a handful of companies around the world that will supply all the existing and soon to be created new automotive companies. Is really easy to match an electric motor to a battery for vehicle specs. That will allow faster product development and better ROI. But what the companies are after is the earnings: Toyota earns an average of $1,200 per vehicle while Tesla gets just over $9,000!!!! This is because all that plus the halo effect of having a Tesla. Companies knows this and they are RUSHING to get it. Have you seen the cost of EVs?! Absurd for the range you get. And, the contamination related to EV production (mining, natural resources destruction, water contamination, workers/habitants health problems) are extreme. It has been calculated that, for an EV to break even the relationship between manufacturing/contamination it has to be driven 100,000 miles which, at that moment, the battery and the car need to be replaced (this is planned obsolescence: the same principle used by phone manufacturers). I got a 9 year old Accord and is working beautifully and I’m keeping it as long as I can.

I purchased my hard to find. New 2018 Chrysler 300C Hemi. I love the car, but the 300 didn't sell competing against it's sister brand the Dodge Charger. Before the chip shortage. Dodge Challengers and Chargers filled my dealer's lot while you would be lucky to find four basic 300s available until my black with mocha interior 300C special order fell through for the buyer. I wanted the 300C because of the unique design. Hemi engine and attractive and more comfortable Napa leather interior than found in the Charger RT. I should add. The discount was hugh. To be honest. The 300 wasn't selling.
My 2023 Chrysler 300C order has been confirmed and I have a VIN. Definitely going to enjoy the final “SRT” 300.

@@pablomalaga4676 the 6.4L SRT Hemi is a fantastic engine. In my opinion it is more reliable than the 5.7L.

The Chrysler 300 will always be one of my favourite sedans. I loved them in my childhood, and I will continue to love them. I almost considered buying one (a first gen 300C or SRT-8) as my first car (I ultimately chose a second gen Mazda3 2.5GT hatchback). I’ve driven a couple of 300s, and I loved them.

It´s very sad the 300 got cancelled. The design and appearance of this car is so iconic, I was in love with them since I was a teen. Three years ago I bought a 2010 300 with the 3.5 V6 and I hope it will last many years so can have as much fun as possible.

You know if It were a Toyota or Honda they would have fixed any problems. Chrysler, however, just let them continue so what does that tell you? How long have the Camry and Accord been around? American manufacturers must either be lazy or self-destructive.

@@pentameteriamb6196 honda and toyota are very reliable cars ,at least they were ,i don´t have one since the 90´s ,had a toyota MR-2 in 95 and a Honda prelude 2.2VTEC. with two seats in 93, also drove a improved honda CRX from 91(1.6L engine before the VTEC. engines) that did turns perfect ,once i enter in a roundabout at 160km/h or 100 miles an hour and when getting out i was again at 160 km´s/h, only reduced from 4 gear to third and 4 gear again and when out already driving at 180km/h i parked the car because it´s owner was calling me crazy, the owner, a friend of mine was killed at 6.30 a.m. outside a nightclub by a 17 year old kid with a pistol in the midle of a crowd of 14 years old kids , 3 shots in the chest one in the head above the left eye , the car was taken by the police because he tried the car and never returned ,it belonged to the younger brother of a friend of mine, so it was kind of stolen after being improved

I have a 2010 Chrysler 300 Touring Signature Series and I love it despite some minor electrical issues. It has 78753 miles and is running pretty well. I use it as my daily car, I haul stuff on it, the 3.5 v6 never disappointed me
I still own and drive my 2005 Touring AWD. It has proven, over the long haul, to be the best all-around car I have ever owned. It has been extremely reliable, with only the basic maintenance issues expected. It has about 130k on the odometer.
It is well optioned BUT some little creature-comforts that appeared in later years are not on my car (heated steering wheel for instance). I always lamented that I could not get cornering lights, a BIG issue for those of us older drivers that got used to having them at night.
I have owned and driven a lot of much more luxurious cars over the years from Cadillacs, Lincolns, Olds 98's, Buick Electra's to Bentleys, Mercedes-Benz and Rolls-Royces. (And yes, it handles, and feels very much like an E series Mercedes-Benz of this era). Some of those cars were pretty dependable, but NONE of them have come close to this 300T.
The leather driver's seat is getting somewhat frayed on the edges. The brakes could use an upgrade. It is due for a tranny flush-out and filter. That's it.
I will keep it until one of us rolls over dead.
Always liked the look of the first gen 300, went to view a V8 one for sale at a dealer some years ago. But even though it was only 5 years old at the time there was significant corrosion on all of the chrome exterior trim. The interior looked & felt low rent too.
That's the biggest problem I find with Chryslers but especially their sedans. The exterior looks so good and often timeless, but the interior, yeesh

@@Bobmcjoepants should have seen the Lancia thema version of the chrisler , maybe one of the most luxurious cars inside but people already knew the car as a chrisler so it didn´t sold that much and too expensive

I bought my son a 2012 Hemi 300 and he loved it. No issues other than a weird electric gremlin with the alarm system but it was corrected.
I actually borrowed it for a trip and I loved the way it handled, decent power and rode very well.
I would love to own a new 300 with a 392, hey, I can dream.

I fully agree, they let it die. If they would have given it some love the 300 could have stood tall in that segment. It has the looks, ride and with the right engine, performance.
Thank you for the video. I purchased a 2009 300c with 5.7L Hemi brand-new - the first brand-new vehicle for myself. It has been one of the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned in my 52 years of car ownership. It currently has 273k miles on it and has had no engine or front end issues as mentioned in the video. The multi-displacement Hemi has given me some of the best fuel mileage I have had. This vehicle was purchased to replace the `99 Chrysler LHS that I owned. However, the LHS didn't wear out until it had 345k miles on it in 2020 when I donated it to a non-profit. My first car I purchased when I was 17 was a 1962 Chrysler New Yorker (413 cci). I am a total Mopar car guy - 23 out of the 28 cars owned. I have put 2 million miles on those 28 cars. Your video was helpful as I am trying to decide when to purchase my next 300C. I am retired so put fewer miles on my cars so I don't need a new one. But I don't want to lose the feel and control of driving a great car so I want another 300c to finish out my driving lifetime. Actually, I may want an SRT for fun and then another 5.7l for my long term vehicle. Again, thank you for the video and I did subscribe to your channel.
I worked as a car cleaner at a Chrysler dealer, and I really liked the 300 SRT.
If someone else would buy it, insure it, and put petrol in it, I'd really love to own one.
i've own a 2014 for the last 8 years and it's the best car i've ever had. besides the regular maintenance (oil changes/new tires/etc) the only issue i've had is a bad alternator, an airbag recall, and the backup camera needed to be rewired. i love everything about it and think the decision making from chrysler has been extremely cringe lately

You said 14.7 or 147k? Haha if it’s 14.7 you basically got a brand new one still 😂 the 300 SRT8 is a magical car for me, I get so excited whenever I see one on the roads (which isn’t often)

Had my 300C since Nov. '04. 146,000 miles so far. Just replaced the A/C and shifter linkage. Probably replaced tie rods 5 times. Only non-scheduled problems. I'll keep it 'till the engine seizes.
Chrysler actually brought back the "300" first, with the 1999 300M, on the 2nd Gen LH, FWD V6 platform. The car was shortened 10 inches compared to the LHS, so it could be sold on the European market as well.
I remember that car! I went to a Chrysler dealer in late winter 2001 and looked at getting one. At the time I was in a Lease that was ending in June on a 1998 Taurus SHO. Test drive: It didn't have the power my SHO did for sure but it was quiet and it felt more luxurious. I decided that - after driving it - I was done with FWD anyway and went back to RWD in June 2001 w/a 2001 Mustang GT.
The 300M was almost an embarrassment, most of those cars have already seen the crusher.
I can't believe Mopar killed one of the most iconic cars in Mopar history. The 300 is one of them. What does that mean for the Chrysler brand?
I made a “Future of Chrysler” video and I’ll probably do another updated one soon. But essentially they are going full EV and trying to be a “people mover brand”. The Pacifica Hybrid will continue on, and then 2024 we should see another utility vehicle of some sort like the Airflow. That’s basically it for now. Potentially they could introduce the 300 again using the same 400 volt system as the next-gen Charger.
They will go all electric and produce vehicles that no one wants.
Volvo..said around 2015...that they were going Full Electric by 2019....Somehow that Changed ....I'd say Reality set in.... E.V.s were introduced around 2011...I believe...Yet today..99 out of 100 Cars on the Road are Ice Cars...even after All the Government B.S. Subsidies....

I own a 2013 300S Glacier Edition AWD that I bought new in February of 2013. I love this car. The 3.6L V6 has 300 hp which is good. The only things I’ve done to it is added a K&N cold air intake and a larger(80mm) throttle body. It gives it a little more ‘oomph’, but I’m 70 years old so I’m not looking for a Hellcat or even a Scat Pack. Plus, living in New England I would prefer something with all wheel drive. I haven’t had any complaints about this car at all and was planning to get a new one in the spring, but it looks like I’m going to get one sooner than I planned.
Here in the UK they were thought of as the Bentley that Bentley never made beautiful cars😢
I just bought 2022 model v6 limited. I just love how this car looks and drives, the price is also reasonable compared to other RWD cars nowadays.
Got a 300c with 260,000 miles on it and still going strong. Favorite car ever.
Had a 2015 300C Platinum AWD. It had about 5 or 6 recalls and tons of electrical issues. Back up camera failed 3 times. I got rid of it just before the end of the warranty. I was disappointed it wasnt better sorted out considering it was aging even by 2015. Now it is archaic. Chrysler left it to die on the vine.

We bought a brand new 2013 Chrysler 300 3.6L V6 24-Valve VVT Engine and absolutely love this car. We get on a long trip up to 43 miles per gallon. It is so comfortable and a great road car. It has around 120,000 miles and is running great. Chrysler is making a huge mistake in canceling this model for all electric vehicles. During COVID there would be less vehicles sold, so that is no excuse during that time period.
Dude, I've got to tell you again how much I love your show, I'm not a Dodge/Chrysler guy, but the amount of info you have and spread to us is so incredible. Thank you, and to see those #'s, WOW: I've got an '81 Yamaha XS1100H,,,, when it came out back in '78, it was the quickest thing on land, mass produced. the 1/4 mi =12.78@114mpg. Had 95 Horses, weighed about 545lbs. but these Chryslers you're showing, so incredible! But , of course thinking of back in the day of what the cars did back then with all of the smog controls, mpg regs, etc. it's no wonder!
it was sold in europe and respected all regulations no problems in that area, the owner of the stand sold a crossfire and a 300C to the gypsies and whenever the cars had a litle problem they would left the car there to be fixed and never paid ,he had to close doors and change his life to another region , where i live they own the city to a certain point. I don´t have problems ,the older ones who are in comand ,kind of a king in their social status ,they grew up near my house(in a stable with horses) and some even went to school when 7 years old with me so, they still when seeing me passing by in my car they wave goodbye, and i´m known by being the only white person that rented a house i bought when younger to a family of gypsies in all the city ,and they never failed to pay every month the rent and pay with live money and only 100€´s bills
I just bought a 2012 Limited and i am loving it!! But I am pretty disappointed to hear that they canceled the car. I’ve looked out of curiosity for similar models but I couldn’t find anything that even comes close to the chrystler 300. Pretty sad

I'm glad I got to own a 2011 300C. I loved the Imported from Detroit campaign which lead me to buy one and the ownership will always be one of my fondest memories.
Wow, interesting information in this video, I have a first gen 2006 SRT 8 with over 150k miles on it and the only things replaced so far are a water pump and a power steering pump. That car has had the oil changed every 3000 miles with the recommended Mobil Full Synthetic 0W-40 oil, never had an engine issue yet. The day I heard the news on the internet about the cancelation of the 300, I went to the Chrysler website and discovered the 2023 300C limited production run. I immediately placed my reservation for the final run and paid my deposit, I got a confirmed reservation from Chrysler and shall be taking ownership early this coming year.
I am completely baffled that Chrysler let this car die out like it did, especially seeing how the 2023 300C 'sold out' in 12 hours, why they weren't previously making limited edition runs for the US market, like a Hellcat powered model, just blows my mind. In the last couple years, they could have came out with a Super S model with all-wheel drive and a 707hp cat motor, limited to a couple thousand units, it would have easily sold out. The 300 was the average man's luxury car on par with the Lincolns and Cadillacs, I can see both those manufacturers doing the same, reverting to electric only.
Anyway, can't wait to park both cars side by side, I may just have to put a supercharger on the 2006 to give it a refresh, that should get that car close to 600hp. 😁

@@bradzimmerman3171 what does that really mean?? If there was a true cult following for the 300, Chrysler would not discontinue the line. The true cult following is with Corvettes and Mustangs; last I heard nothing on the Dodge line is escaping the chopping block.
the recommended oil from the manufacturer (chrysler) is penzoil.
@@coolbreezeNYC1 not sure where you've gotten your information from, but for my 2006 300C SRT8 with the 6.1L the recommended engine oil is Mobil 1 full synthetic 0W-40, it's literally written on the oil fill cap and it says the same on page 249 of the original owners manual. Perhaps the newer cars with the 6.4L requires something different, I have no idea, I've only got 1400 miles on my 2023 300C, so the oil has not yet been replaced.
@@coolbreezeNYC1 okay, I read on the Penzoil webpage that their oil is supposedly used in all Chryslers, don't know how true that is, but whatever. So I just looked at my digital owners manual (v2) for my 2023 300C with the 6.4L and the PDF shows the recommended oil to be MOPAR full synthetic 0W-40 oil. If the MOPAR oil is just rebranded Penzoil, then so be it, but to be honest I think I'm going to continue to use the Mobil 1, I've never had an issue in the past on the old 6.1L.
I think when it comes down to valve train issues, people aren't replacing their oil regularly, these engines do use oil which is stated in the user manual. And if not enough oil is in the system, those roller bearings in the rockers might not be getting properly lubricated which can lead to the flattened roller problem and excessive wear on the cam lobes.
I know the new cars have the oil life indication/replacement, but I'm thinking of still changing out the oil on the new 6.4L every 3k miles. I'd rather spend the money on preventative maintenance with oil changes instead of having to replace expensive broken engine parts down the road. Anyway, does anybody know if the roller bearings were upgraded because of this known issue?? I had seen somewhere that there were newer roller bearings which contained better needle bearings, is that on the 2023 engines???

Yes, they should bring it back! I owned two of them, a 2014 model and a 2018 that was an Ocean Blue color real sharp! Both had the 3.6 litre pentastar engines and I never had any problems with them! Nothing broke! Some complain because they're "not fast enough" but they're not meant to be drag racers, 300 H.P. is plenty for most people.
Would have loved to have a hemi 2 door version, a real tribute to the 300 series of the past. A 2 door Hurst convertible edition built in house to keep price in check would have been the ultimate.
It had a nice run. I had a 2014 and it was a Good comfortable car. Great presence and style, but depreciation was high as expected when I sold it.
This is a fun channel to watch. My last Chrysler product was a 1990 Eagle Talon which was great. Before that was a turbo LeBaron and a Laser. Both of those products were POSs lol. Had my eye on a hemi Charger or 300 but recently purchased an Infiniti Q50. Keep up the good reporting Marspeed!

@@MarspeedCars yes, it is a 2020 CPO with low mileage and within my budget. It has its own peculiarities for sure but so far so good.

@@bradhardy2629 that’s a very inaccurate statement. The Q50 is RWD with a turbo V6 and 9 speed. The Maxima is FWD, CVT with a NA V6. Totally different vehicles. Since I purchased CPO all monies and support stay with the local economy. Also, most Dodge products are assembled outside the US using mostly foreign parts (ex. Hemis are built in Mexico). Hard to find a complete US car these days. Tesla may be the closest.

I've always enjoyed all your vids about all things Chrysler! I wonder if there was some sort of limit on how 'extra' the 300 could be, because of fear it could overshadow the Charger? You're right; some abilities to do even mild customization of packages, or something like a 'Jailbreak' option, would've been great for the 300, but I think Dodge didn't want to feel like it was competing against its Chrysler sibling, since it saw itself as the 'performance' division.
when younger i sold imported cars from the U.S. ,i used to travel to L.A. with a friend from Holland and ship the cars to Europe , i had the charger SRT 69 model(all black) and a challenger yellow with the roof top in vinil (black) , big powerfull cars but in slim roads one couldn´t drive more than 40 miles an hour
love my 06 heritage edition hemi, u cant find em anymore but my god its so nice on the inside with srt interior and the black and chrome on the outside
I’m a euro guy, mostly Audi, Alfa Romano and Mercedes but I drove a 300 S with the 5.7 for a week and it was actually fun as hell when i wanted to hate on the car badly, now whenever I see one I love them lol, I’ve seen hellcat swapped 300 S and now that’s one of my dream cars lol

The problem with the 300 wasn't the design of the car but the pathetic corporate management which refused to invest in improving the car over the years. My 2011 is basically the same car sold today with the exception of the ZF 8spd addition. This was a great platform that they didn't invest in
Bought a 2007 5.7 liter 300C new and still drive it today. Have always been happy with the design in and out. I still get many compliments even though it's 16 years old. The problems I've had came from cheap little plastic parts when an aluminum part would have prevented the problem. These include three broken door handles and the console shifter mechanism. Also replaced the hood and trunk supports. The car is always garaged and still looks as good as it did when new. This car is the longest I've kept a car in the 65 years I've owned cars and there's no reason to sell it.
I have a 2016 SRT Core here in Australia. Do you have the final production numbers for the SRT'S (up to 2022)? I haven't been able to find them anywhere

Had two 300c a 2006 and a2010 the best cars I ever owned.put a smile on my face every time ,what a car and for some reason a few people thought they were bentley's..went to walk into a restaurant one night and this family said you've left your lights on your Bentley, I said it's ok and just laughed.great car.
The biggest problem with the 300, at least the current gen, is its age. It the basic design is from 2005 and while it has been updated nicely, it still looks and feels a decade old (especially the interior) which is sad because it has such great potential
Exactly this particular body style has pretty much been almost exactly the same since it came out they have made a few modifications moving this here and softening that there but it's still the same like everyone has it and it's like you know once everybody bought it you know it's like are we going to keep buying the same thing over and over again or are you going to change something but I have had over 30 Chryslers I get it from my dad I think that Chrysler has just flopped all over and when they stop selling the last 200 which actually was selling well that just shows you where their mindset was at one point the Dodge intrepid and the Sebring and Stratus and all those cars ruled the world well we had a lot of sales here while I was at but then they went from all of those cars to none by a bad design I don't know I just I don't know but I have a charger now so it just seems like they just let the car die
its timeless design, it will look greate after 80 years, that is not the problem, it is a big PLUS

Similar story, came across the news by accident and jumped on the chance to get a 2023 300C, I too have a confirmed reservation. Soon both my 2006 SRT8 and new 2023 will be sitting side by side in the garage.

I have a 2013 300 with the v6. Love the car and the fuel milage. It will get 27 to 30 mpg all day long. It has 123000 miles on it.

I have a 2008 Touring 3.5l with 197,326 miles and its still running strong. I believe your car has the 3.6l Pentastar and I have read in forums and articles that they are more reliable than my 3.5l so you should be good for a very long time!

I have leased at least 7 (seven) 300s in the past 15+ years. I love this make and model and will miss future models. I now have a 2021 300, canyon sunset exterior. I might like the wagon model, sad not sold in the USA. I welcome future 300s!, post 2023.
I bought a 2013 base for $12,500. It had 19,000. I bought it last year. Now it has about 27,000 miles.
I had the first model year (2005) 300C with the Hemi engine. It was a great car at the time, kept it for about 5 or 6 years.
Watching this video really hits me and realizing that my favorite car is leaving makes me feel like we really are reaching the end of American muscle cars. I was born at a bad time because when I'm old enough to drive I'll of course have a starter car but when I'm ready to buy a muscle car it's probably gonna be illegal 😭

The SRT8 model never sold in large numbers, but it drove people into the showroom. Once customers drove a standard Hemi model, they would often decide the didn't need the extra performance of the SRT8, and went for the bargain priced, 5.7 Hemi instead.
Many brands have a similar "Halo" model, that drives showroom traffic, but actually sells in small numbers due to price. The Corvette Z06 and ZR1 have always been limited production models, but they drive base Corvette sales. The same goes for "Shelby" Mustangs. I'm sure even Type R Civics have increased the sales of lesser Hondas.
It sounds like the 300 could have benefitted from beefed up suspension components across the LX platform. Chrysler should have done this, if for no other reason than to reduce warranty claims.
This video couldn’t have been the best 300C send off I own 2 300s 2006 SRT-8 6.1L & 2007 SRT Design 5.7L to this day I love driving both of them would really love an ‘09 or ‘10 300S V8 or SRT-8

It’s definitely a nice buy for middle class folks. Interior is very nice on some of the models like S and C, it’s a nice big car with 20s, rides nice, and has decent pickup for all engines. Midnight Club 3 is a classic! 😎

I've owned upwards of 60 different autos 70 if we included motorcycles. i have not seen all of your content but I'm getting there. you should consider doing other brands, also there are many other Mopar products you've not touched on. idk if you have done the dodge colt but that's also a weird collaboration with Korea.
I bought a pontiac G8 GT in 09. The engine light literally was on the entire 13 year,s that i had the car. Also, pontiac was so stupid in the way they engineered the interior. The power windows were located in the center console region only. The wheel lights failed within 1 year of having said car. I finished paying off the car in 4.5 years. It spent alot of time in my coops garage. Fast forward to 2021 and i bought a used chrysler 300C 5.7 L for $9,200 dollars with 45, 715 miles on it. Not once did the engine light come on power windows on the doors and the 4 p.w on the consle of the driver. Only issue was i required a new alternator after 1 year. Its almost as fast as the G8 GT...5.2 0 to 60 vs the 300C 5.5 0to60 . Im 54 and i love this 300. I dont drive nearly as much and i would love for the 300. To be my last car. As for my wife and grown kids they love it too. Thank you for your time and courtesy.

The exterior design of the 300 definitely had some of its roots in the Bentley sedan from that period. It’s a shame that Chrysler had so many issues with the power plants… back in the 60s and 70s Chrysler engines were nearly bulletproof.

I'm always surprised how easily American car companies let their best sellers go to hell. Ford had the best selling car in America with the Taurus and they let it die. Chrysler hit a homerun with the 300 and its now gone. Toyota would never allow the Camry to just die. Its crazy to me.

I rented one of these when I took a trip to Texas, very nice and comfortable car, perfect for long Texas commutes.

I've had two 300m Chrysler's. 3.5. The 99 went over 450k. One transmission. Wheel bearings and other Normal wear items. My 04 has almost 300k on it now runs Great uses and leaks a little Oil but still Way better car then a Taurus or Impala. Regardless of anyone's opinion.
I would like to know which newer 300 to buy to replace my older 300m eventually. Non MDS I'm guessing ???

Hey Logan, I have heard nothing about the Challenger so far. I’ve always said I just can’t see them not bringing back a challenger but the Daytona Charger was a 2 door so there’s really no guarantee. But why would they not make a sedan and coupe? Not sure
Opportunities were missed for the 300, but Dodge did the same with the Charger. Not marketing a AWD Hemi Charger being a good example. Regardless, the 300 enjoyed a lengthy production run. Not bad for what is essentially a fancy Charger. Oh, and since Chrysler's going EV, they should really take a look at the Chronos concept, and make it happen. Or perhaps an I6 Chronos in RWD and AWD options.
They did make AWD 5.7 chargers, but unfortunately they were only issued to police. Can still snag one for a good deal at the auctions though as long as there isn't a bunch of idle hours

they say 1 hour of idle time is equivalent wear and tear as driving the car for 30 miles as far as the engine goes, so you'll definitely live but it adds up because a lot of these police vehicles have like 6k total hours on the engine 4k of which being idle so just a little bit of a false representation of the condition of the engine, but the prices reflect that on police auction vehicles. if you have to or want to idle it that's fine just gonna be using up some of the problem free miles on the engine@@KhaleesiStJames
I love the 300. I’ve owned 12 or 13 of them with only one that gave mind boggling trouble. I have one now and I love it. I wish they could bring it back.
If they had put the Hellcat in it and truly updated the interior they could have made it a CTSV competitor. I don't get why they slowly let it die instead of breathing new life into it.

At present, I have a 2011 Chrysler 300C with the 5.7 liter Hemi V8, 5-speed transmission, and rear-wheel drive. I just reached 62K miles and had some front suspension issues that cost about $2,500.00 to fix.
I had heard that Chrysler might extend the 300 model for one more year into 2024, so I asked my dealer, Central Avenue Chrysler (Yonkers) about any possibility of getting a 2024 model. They told me that the V8s had already sold out in less than one day, but there were still V6s available.
So, about three weeks ago, I ordered the 2024 Chrysler 300 Touring L model with the 3.6 Liter Pentastar V6 engine, the 8-speed transmission, and all-wheel drive. The colors are deep red for the exterior with a black leather interior. I asked the dealer to give me all the bells 🔔 and whistles, which they did. I'm now waiting for the 4-6 months manufacturing and delivery process.
I'm actually quite happy 😊 to have the V6 engine with all-wheel drive. My experience with the 5.7 Liter Hemi V8 has been very good (I always service the car regularly, have the oil/filter changed more often than required, use synthetic oil, use premium gasoline, and add STP Gas Treatment everyfill-up), but the rear-wheel drive car does not handle acceptably in the snow and ice. That has been a real problem for me.
My long-time dealer mechanic, Clive, had advised that I should purchase very aggressive snow tires for all four wheels. Metal studs are illegal in New York State, but the high-density resin studs are not illegal. However, I don't have anywhere to store regular tires and snow tires in the off-seasons, which would mean needing to pay the dealer storage fees every year. With the 20-inch wheels, both the all-season and snow tires are really expensive and have only about 20,000 miles of life in them. So, I decided simply not to drive in snowy/icy weather.
Hopefully, this will change with the all-wheel drive system in the new car. What do you think? Thanks for your attention. May God bless you and your family 🙏 always in your life journey.
I owned a 2007 Charger for a couple years - it wasn't unflawed - but also a really fun car. I have rented 300s and enjoyed driving them on vacation immensely. Sadly cars as we know them are becoming less popular and that trend isn't changing any time soon.

Toyota made a sedan, it's lifted with SUV tires, the Crown. I wonder if that might catch on. I could see a Chrysler 300 in that style. because really people buy the SUV for the looks, the comfort getting in and out, the "commanding" seating position. not sure it has to have a flat roof all the way back with a hatch, other than that's what people expect
to bad the 300 is gone, i lvoe the 300, it is an amazing car, ive ridden in a second generation model for 12 (ish) hours straight, it was very comfortable especially with the heated rear and front seats, to bad chrysler is going all electric, they cant make it fully electric though sadly

Chrysler 300c 5.7 2007,had her between 56 000 to 104k .
Was a great car, sold it during pandemic... her deactivation cylinders made it get 25 - high 29 mpg on the freeway cruise control.
I probably get a newer version later on SRT8 look sweet😂
I still have my 2095 Chrysler 300 in cherry condition and I’m truly sad they went away would love to see it come back with all flaws fixed and a better look the last few years the grills didn’t look so good.
In Germany the 1.st gen diesel station wagon (and Sedan) was available in "SRT-Design" - 20" wheels, sport seats etc.
In EU C-Level was entry level, thus sunroof, my-gig navigation, leather etc.etc, "SRT-Design" was the only option.
I had one as station wagon. Chip tuned the diesel a bit + larger intercooler - to about 240 hp and more torque than the 5.7 L hemi. I measured 0-60 in 6.7 secs.
As a diesel it had high torque and thus serious punch from low revs and was a really quick car.
Build quality was not like Merceds or BMW, but good enough at a much lower price compared eg. to a BMW 5-series.

I bought this car, a 300C, completely loaded in 2006. It cost 42K. It had the 4-6-8 V8 which i had heard bad things about, but Chrysler insisted they had conquered the problems and it would last. Well it did not. At 77,000 miles it went bad. 2,000 miles out of warranty. Go figure. I replaced it with a standard V8 transmission and has worked well ever since. Just standard maintenance. I still have it. It is black with a gray leather. and a custom grill. It starting run like an older car. Wear and tear. I do take care of it as needed. I will let it go when I retire next year. But for an 18 year old car, it has been wonderful. And I definitely got my cost back out it. I presently sit at 143,000 mi. I would give a solid B.

Wow this is a really good review of the 300 series! One thing that I really don’t like though is the way you completely glossed over the 300m. Admittedly it wasn’t as much a “300” in spec terms as the 2005 300, but calling it the revival of the 300 name is a bit misleading, especially considering you did an entire video on the 300m. Other than that though you did a really good job on the history of it! Sucks that the 300 line is going out again..
I'm on my second AWD 300 and love it; it they offered it in electric I would sign up today. Loved the body style in both versions, the room was better than a Taurus. Never a problem with power: I towed a small boat with both - and reliability has been awesome except for an air conditioner coolant leak (the refrigerant is a more expensive type and hard to source). I was born and raised a Ford man, enjoyed a SAAB900 for many years, but Had a great experience with the Dodge Intrepid and then these 300's, I guess I'm a 300 fanatic now, and sad it's discontinued. I really hate the generic gym show styling of modern crossovers and SUV platforms and enjoy the "mafia staff car" aesthetic of a legit sedan.
This car was one of the most underrated cars ever produced in history. I owned a 2018 300 and it was by far the best all around car I've ever owned. I've had audis, cadillacs, and currently drive a Mercedes, and would gladly trade it in for a newer 300!
The concept looked so much better compared to what they produced...shame they can't go with their gut and produce a quality design...they chose bland and boring instead.
