    Thank you, yes that motivates me to do the upgrade. I just purchased a 2020 Winnebago Navion, 24D. I live in Houston, and purchased the RV in San Jose, CA. I was wondering if anything could be done to improve or lessen the sway of the RV. This has helped me alot. Thank you.

      Enjoy your new Navion. Yes the Sprinter chassis needs some suspension mods to help it handle better.

    Nice job, I see you have the Sumo springs and the Fox shocks, how is that working for you? I have heard the Fox shocks don't play well with the Sumos.

      Yes I've heard the same thing. I've tested it both ways over several thousand miles and ended up putting the Sumo Springs back on. In my opinion, it handled better with them on.

    With the new swsy bar have you noticed a difference?

    • @rvlifediy
      @rvlifediy  Рік тому +2

      Yes the new sway bar made a big difference. I've heard of some people saying it didn't but it did make a big difference to me. The engineers are stating it's about 40 percent stiffer. Numbers aside, it made a difference big enough to recommend the upgrade. Hope that helps.

    Well done! I am looking to buy a 2018 Winnebago View: does it have a colour Infotainment monitor screen and a low gear engine descent button? I've tried to find the information but no joy! THANK YOU! ☺

    • @rvlifediy
      @rvlifediy  2 роки тому

      A 2018 View will
      likely be on a 2017 Sprinter chassis with the 5 speed transmission. It doesn't have grade breaking but downshift will work. The infotainment center is the older aftermarket type and I don't know much about them except that they are a smaller display and not a Mercedes product. Good luck on your search.

    Hi I just bought a 2022 Mercedes’ class c, I am wondering if this medication change much how the rv behave, like to know what is the end result? Have not driven my rv much yet, has a e450 class c before, ( it is much like a aircraft carrier), is it worth the investment to change it? Thanks

      I would suggest driving it more and determine what type of improvements you want first. This sway bar helped greatly on the side to side rocking when leaving an unlevel driveway. Some people have reported it didn't help at all but I think it helped tremendously. I would do the Sumo Springs both front and rear for highway driving improvement from wind and passing trucks.

    • @craigbenson52
      @craigbenson52 2 роки тому +1

      @@rvlifediy did you replace the rear sumo springs as well as add the 2.5 Fox Shocks, along with the Hellwig sway bar? Did you upgrade the front sumo springs as well? Thanks
      Handling and performance ok, moderately improved or greatly improved…..interested in your opinion…..thanks Craig

    • @rvlifediy
      @rvlifediy  2 роки тому +2

      @@craigbenson52 I have done the following in this order: Rear sumos first (helped with wind driving), installed front sumos (helped with trucks passing), installed fox 2.5 shocks (didn't notice much difference), installed Hellwig sway bar (helped with the rocking back and forth over the driveway). I'm still not satisfied with the handling, and it could use improvement. I've done other mods that I have been testing over the months and will post videos. I'm a picky driver, knowing other motorhomes can handle better, so always on the pursuit to make improvements. I would recommend doing all of them, but rear and front sumos first will make a big difference in highway driving.

      @craigbenson52 2 роки тому +1

      @@rvlifediy I have seen some comments that the Fox shocks work better without the sumo spring additions? Guess it is an opinion….just wondering as Fox shocks are 4-6 months back order, if it is better to do rear sumos in the mean time to help the rocking/bouncing, as always thanks for your prompt replies…..

    • @rvlifediy
      @rvlifediy  2 роки тому +1

      @@craigbenson52 Craig, I have read that as well, and that is part of my experiment to remove the rear sumos (I would definitely do the front sumos regardless). And if you don't do the Fox shocks, I would do the back sumos as well. All I do know is that the stock suspension is not adequate by itself.
