Thank you so much ladies another perfectly timed video, I am having horrible brain fog at the moment, I do take HRT so having just finished my progesterone my period of sorts is due, I never made that connection with the cycle, I honestly thought I was going bonkers and started looking up dementia symptoms, which is not a helpful thing to be asking Dr Google!!! Thank you and please keep the videos coming, total lifeline. Great to hear that these things improve xxx
I lost my fiance due to all these menopausal symptoms. I wish I knew what was going on with her months ago so I could of been supporting. She just wanted me out of the house and her life. It's like she became a different person. Truly heartbreaking
Peri & Meno pause symptoms hijacks a womans sense of well-being in so many ways. When your body betrays you beyond comprehension it's mind altering 😓 Thankfully restoring Hormonal Balance restores a woman's equilibrium 😅 Woman need to be supported not shamed, woman need to be understood not blamed.
Hello Eileen and friend. I have dealt with the brain fog and fatigue and it is debilitating if you let it go too long. The walking in the room and forgetting why I was there is awful 😂 I’m laughing now but I don’t when it happens trust me! I have been dealing with the long, heavy, prolonged periods this year…. Awful, probably the worst symptom for me so far. Thank God I began drinking liquid iron as soon as I realized that it was staying longer than intended and my levels didn’t get too low, 10.7 last month. Thank you for another great vlog. I always look forward to them. Have a wonderful week 💜 Janet
You're welcome Janet, good idea to get the iron tonic as anaemia can cause a whole raft of symptoms too! Have you had the heavy periods checked by your doctor? They may be able to give you non hormonal medication to slow this down and also check that other issues such as fibroids are not a factor. Best Wishes Eileen
Just found u on you tube an wow ur videos are amazing making us ladies understand what’s happening to r bodies x brain fog an fatigue has stopped me working an enjoying life x
I worry about the brain fog. I have issues all the time, where I am having a conversation and completely forget what I was talking about and have to be reminded. Or like the other day, I wanted to say the word Volcano, I could not think of this word, I had to describe it, for someone to then tell me the word….. I then made a joke about it. But it’s quite frightening as it happens a lot. Trying to have a conversation sometimes is quite difficult. It started in the peri menopause 4-5 yrs ago……as a family we laugh about it, as sometimes it’s like playing charade’s, but it is a worry.
I say afterwards " I guess I don't use that word a whole lot". Or pretend something caught my attention and for got the word hoping it comes to me as I go through my brains Rolodex.
Hi Jan maybe check out the herb Gingko Biloba as this is recommended to help with memory and hopefully some of the tips Sarah and I mentioned such as lots of water can be helpful too. Best Wsihes Eileen
Just lately, my brain fog seems to have gone worse and feel very tired... i go to bed early and have a bedtime routine....some days is just awful...thanks for your videos 🥰
Definitely some good tips, especially learning to preserve your energy and say “no” to things. I am learning that I have to slow down and not multitask as much.
This is tough I was told last year I'm going through menopause I still have periods irregular and the symptoms are terrible, I also had another baby three years ago I'm 40 now , I also had COVID a few months ago , still trying to get better , but I have noticed brain fog and intense anxiety and depression hormones up and down hot flashes and night sweats smh appetite up and down, insomnia, itchy skin, I have to take some meds to deal with this it's more during two weeks or so before period is the most uncomfortable, when I get on my period it takes a few days then I start feeling a little better, the fatigue and tired and being low on vit d gummies and vitamin iron gummies , some periods I bleed a lot , some not as bad , Iodine salt sprinkle a little on food that helps thyroids , magnesium is collard greens or spinach or almond milk, I believe this started a little bit before the time I was pregnant and after , having covid was terrible, I do see a neurologist/ psychiatrist besides reg physician, I have also changed my diet off and on , lose weight gain weight, ra flare ups bones be sore , it's amazing women go thru this is terrible, but eventually it can get better I don't take hmt , I started taking vit d gummie supplement it seems like it's been helping, and take iron supplement gummy but not at the same time , less serotonin is a difference too as you get older ,
Hope you continue to feel better. Have you considered acupuncture? This can often be helpful when there are lots of different symptoms appearing Best Wishes Eileen
This is such a wonderful channel and I try to watch all your videos. I searched this as I'm finding my typing (work) has become awful. My words are backwards, I miss spell everything to a worrying degree now. Perimenopausal at the moment.
I just love your talks, thank you so much for sharing. I take magnesium daily, but I also take a natural vitamin E supplement because I remember hearing this is good in the menopause, I'm not sure how true this is because I can't find the source of it?? And now I can't remember the mechanism of action??? Brain fog kicking in.😅
You're welcome J W! Yes, vitamin E is really important in the menopause, especially for heart health, brain function, immune function, eyes and skin. I've taken 400iu daily for years and years! Best Wishes Eileen
Thank you so.much I have that emotional/mental fatigue at the minute and feel easily overwhelmed I absolutely hate this would give anything to turn the clock back and have monthly cycle😢
You suggested that once hormones balance out, brain fog will go away. How long after hitting menopause will hormones balance out? I hit menopause four years ago and I’m still having brain fog … trying to remember words, losing my train of thought during a conversation, etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Hi M This is a difficult question to answer as it is different for every woman and may also depend on their general health, diet/lifestyle/stress management as well, sorry. This is one of the symptoms that is best managed rather than hoping it will ease on it's own. Best Wishes Eileen
Most days i have to be in bed attempting to get enough reat to function for a few hours as i have not slept more than 4 continuous hours since menopause began 7 years ago. I have no life anymore go nowhere and have no energy to do anything age 53.
I'm so sorry. Have you tried a b complex in the mornings and magnesium at night? If you can't tolerate the magnesium pills, there is magnesium lotions and oils that are very convenient. I apply my magnesium lotion several times a day, and vitamin c also supports our adrenal glands. If possible, some kind of physical activity out in the sun and fresh air. I have been at this for 10 years and just now have been without a period for 8 months. Best wishes
I’m 48 just starting hrt. I have periods really irregular . 2-3 months apart and they’ll be long or sometime 2-3 days . I just had bloodwork which is ok. I normally am really active, but this last year it’s a struggle. I’m finishing a masters, NP degree. So memory and energy loss is really stressing me. Is it better to cycle progesterone vs steady state? Does that help or worsen this or not make a difference? Does hrt help the energy issue at all? Thank you !!
Hi Nicole I'm really sorry but we can't give advice on individual prescriptions of HRT. Your doctor should be able to answer all your questions as they will have the technical information on the brand of HRT you are using, how it works, what the main benefits will be and how it should help they symptoms you have. I have low iron due to heavy periods. I tried lots of oral iron tablets and nothing worked. My lovely doctor gives me iron infusions when it gets very low. I'm so much better after it and I don't get the overwhelming fatigue and brain fog.
It just sounds like having a period. I’ve been walking into rooms since my teens/20s and forgetting stuff Brain goes blank when a conversation is boring Stay away from wheat, grains and alcohol & refined sugar
