I complemented the young rookie on his cover skills and told him that Jake Plummer had a tendency to force throws into coverage when it wasn’t there. He was listening incredibly intently as if I was one of his coaches. In fact I told him I thought he would get an interception and run it back for a touchdown! He told me walking away “ man I wish you wouldn’t have told me that”. Of course he went on to get an INT for a touchdown and two additional picks. Champ was the best!
And as a Broncos fan, thank you Redskins & Dan Snyder for trading Champ to our team! He is a hall of famer with the Broncos as a primary team, as he is the Bronco legend 😊
