Vikings gotta go back to that old school dark purple color
every team uniforms need to go back, they were better and classy. but only the rams heard their fan's cries. i dont think they will go back to that
The jerseys in the 90s all around felt more real
@@lookatvedman9993 I like the dark blue like the 2000's St. Louis rams more than the bright blue and yellow.
Dark purple is new school. Old school Vikings from the 60's wore light purple
This is like the best football channel always a good game uploaded👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
I remember after the Cards defeated the Cowboys in the Wild Card round, but then lost to these Vikings, there was a lot of promise and hype surrounding the Cards with Jake Plummer at QB. However, ARZ would not be competitive again until Kurt Warner became healthy.
Man Randy Moss is so good
Too bad Minnesota didn’t play like this the next week vs Atlanta. Really wanted to see this offense play in a SB. Man were they fun to watch that year.
Best Vikings team ever in my opinion
@@trippingkanga134 That Vikings team that went to Super Bowl 4 was absolutely amazing too.
They were dominating the first half 20-7, but that second half happened
@@trollkenobi6727 this is what convinced me the Vikings are actually cursed as a franchise, there’s been so many times where they should’ve at least made a Super Bowl and didn’t, 1998, 2009, 2017, all those teams should’ve made the SB
That damn Gary Anderson smmfh So called Mr Perfect all season until ........smmfh
It is sad that the 1998 Minnesota Vikings did not make it to the Super Bowl The very least it would’ve been more entertaining game then we ended up getting in the Super Bowl that year what a boring game that was
Not a Vikings fan but was annoyed when Denny Green decided to kneel with 30 seconds and take their chances in overtime. Still a baffling coaching decision to this day.
I think Dennis Green was too over confident.
@@jamesrobinson8612 - I rewatched that game on You Tube. Cunningham missed on so many throws. Green should have stuck with controlling the clock and running with Robert Smith the rest of the game.
Totally agree. For whatever reason the Vikings have a history of coming up short in big games. They certainly had the talent
Robert Smith is one of the most underrated players of all time, and by far the most disrespected member of this team. Even Jake Reed usually gets mentioned before Robert Smith when discussing this team
You act like jake reed was a scrub this team was just loaded everywhere it's a reason they put up record numbers that year o-line was good also.
@@TheLocalLt Reed was a 1000 yard receiver before Moss was added to the team.
@@jamesrobinson8612 ya moss added speed that complimented Carter and Reed one of the top duos at the time before they got moss even with Brad Johnson going back and forth with Cunningham
I don’t think anyone remembers this game because of the choke job in the NFC Championship next week but I do because it’s first time I can ever remember the f***ing Arizona Cardinals being in the playoffs
Ikr, it was their first time in 16 years
90s football was the best football
Wow Gary Anderson made a playoff field goal.
Those cardinals uniforms are pretty solid, far better than what they have now.
That season was a fun one for the red birds
Quasimoto7 agreed. They need to simplify and go back to the classics.
Nah today's qre better
You can probably count all the fun seasons the Cardinals have had in their entire existence on one hand.
Yes dude very clean
Larry Legend is a GOAT You are actually everywhere...
This is a very, very core memory for me. Had season tickets to the 97 & 98 seasons.
Man what a time to live as Vikings fan
Yes folks, the Cardinals made the divisional round of the playoffs before the Fitz era
Yep-they upset the Dallas Cowboys on the road the prior weekend.
Before edgerrin James and Leonard Davis and the great marcel shipp also
Fitzgerald was a ball boy with for this team.
Damn Dallas still ain't make a NFC championship game since 95 lol
@@jamesrobinson8612Yup sure was
My dad got season ticket for this year and he always tells me stories of how dominant they were. He also tells me how devastated he was when they missed the field goal 😕
Best offense besides 99 rams and 07 patriots and better than 2013 broncos easily
Bro! We had 97 & 98 season tickets..... greatest time of my life.
One of the four times Jake “The Snake” Plummer has saw a postseason game as a starting QB in his career
Greatest team in NFL history to not reach the Superbowl PERIOD!
Agree. Stupid Anderson
@@MikeBNumba6 I honestly think he got paid dude literally never missed
Absolutely a trashy secondary. From top to bottom! LB's were Standard to poor and Linemen were good.
this team broke my 10 year old heart at the time.. i still feel the pain to this day..
1990 49ers were pretty good
Such a shame they didn't win the super bowl
It was the vikings year to do it too, that offense just couldnt be stopped
I don’t think they were going to beat Denver that year. However in 2009, i thought they could have beat Manning’s Colts.
@@zachrizzo6525 Unfortunately we will never know but it would have been nice to find out!!!!!! Cunningham vs Elway matchup for the ages!!!!!
Best team to never reach the super bowl
I was at this game 😊 and the Falcon's game 😥
0:28
Aeneas Williams HOF Cornerback
Randy Moss HOF Wide Reciever
Corey chavous also
I still hard to believe he ended up being on the 49ers super bowl squad in 2013.
It’s still hard to believe that you’re still alive in episode 9.
You said the same comment in NFLs recent vid on Moss' top 50 plays 🤔
But yes it is impressive he was there. Kap shouldve thrown to him
@@SolidPain6624 😂🤣😂🤣
"Everything that has transpired has done so according to my design"
I missed the old METRODOME I still remember when fox show the roof implode because of the snow. I was supposed to Watch the Giants or someone who was playing the Vikings but it was switch to the Packers and Lions
The Dome was the best. I watched two Vikings games and a ton of Twins games there.
Wow first the Champ Bailey 3 interceptions on Jake Plummer video and now this? That man has a family you know
I remember when he went to Denver Broncos lol
13:47, #90 on the Vikings inadvertently hurt John Randle's knee, limiting Randle's effectiveness next game (I remember Randle said that in a documentary I was watching on him)
Horrible coaching- what was he even doing in there at the end of the game? Dennis Green was a good guy & everything, but the only reason the Vikes went where they did in '98 was because Moss took the league by storm. Go back to pretty much the same team they had the year before & they'd be 11-5 at best
Gary Anderson with more than 114 consecutive made kicks. Little did they know...
I still hate him
Wasn't his fault whatsoever... The whole team choked lol
One week later...
Robert Griffin was pretty good in Run Support. He slowed our run game down tremendously in that championship game.
Crazy how his same team ended their playoff hopes
Dude this channel is better the the actual NFL channel
Mario Bates- 3 touchdowns, 3 rushing yards!
Please DONT upload the NFC championship game its too heartbreaking to watch ima Vikings fan
I miss the old days of football. Those guys were popping heads. All you hear is shoulder pads...😄
Cunningham looked so cool in the Vikings uniform he looked really good in this offense.
better than cowboys lol
Which is older, Gary Anderson or his face mask?
Man I know right the age not to far apart lol😂😂😂
Damn this Vikings team was stacked on both sides
Not stacked but good enough for super bowl as far as pass rush and hitting safteys and linebackers but couldn't cover
Minnesota Vikings actually did the wildcat before the wildcat name came out that's crazy.
@Nick Arjomand really u again?...
Hey look the cardinals made it to a playoff game. That's something...
Can you imagine being a defense have to deal with Minnesota in 1998? Wow.
Don't do this to me... Every... Single... Time I see this 1998 team that went 15-1, I'm just forced to remember that Gary Anderson missed kick... Should've been the Vikings first Super Bowl that season 😭
That or 2009 Title Game *cough* *cough* Brett Favre
@@nolankrause1107 Not his fault the refs wouldn't call anything like roughing the passer. It's almost like those Saints defence players were getting paid to, what were his words, "Go for the head, kill him..." *cough cough* Bounty Gate
@@nickdageek3083 I'm not a Saints fan but I was just saying that because of the history of Brett Favre and the postseason curse the Vikings always have I don't hate the Vikings at all but I do feel your pain because I'm a Lions and we always get screwed by the refs but when my Lions aren't in the playoffs I root for Vikings 🙂.
@@nolankrause1107 As long as you aren't rooting for the Packers am I right?
@@nickdageek3083 Never, even though half of my family are Packers Backers 😏😉
"Nobody has, except Tampa Bay" .. i love that, i remember that game, Tampa was showing glimpses of greatness. Damn kickers, I was really hoping the Vikes went against the Broncos.
in super bowl ? I think broncos would have gashed them and I am packers fan
The Vikings had a lot of people convinced, after this game, that they were destined to reach the Super Bowl &, perhaps, meet the Broncos in what possibly could've been an epic Super Bowl showdown.
Little did anyone know................
Vikings gotta go back to the old school black and blue play like this game..
It's hard to believe the Cardinals made the playoffs that year. First playoff win in more than 50 years by upsetting the Cowboys. Then, they get obliterated by the 15-1 Vikings.
did u notice they said the jets that year were 13-4? i mean outside the obv joke about how they were actually good this year how did they play 17 games? lol
@@amznasian The records shown were with 1 playoff game included. Regular season the Jets were 12-4 and had one playoff win making them 13-4 on the graphic
I wouldn't say obliterated. Vikings were clearly the better team, but the Cards had a respectable showing of themselves in this game against one of the greatest offensive teams in NFL history.
Not a min fan but this team is just the best obviously randy & cc but the fact randall finally got a good cast around towards the end of his career just makes me happy not just a good but an all time great offense just makes it that much better
The Cardinals had no business being in the 2nd round, but at least they beat the Cowboys.
Birdgang
bigblue999 okay budday
Randell threw the most beautiful ball
@Nijji897Lafayette true he spun it
Phoenix Cardinals was member NFC East Division from 1970 through 1993 and Minnesota Vikings was member NFC Central Division from 1970 through 1993 era
Nick Arjomand Phoenix Cardinals rivalry 2 per game Dallas Cowboys New York Giants Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins last but not least Minnesota Vikings rivalry 2 per game Chicago Bears Detroit Lions Green Bay Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers
1970 to 2001 in 2002 Cardinals became part of the NFC West
I miss those uniforms - on both sides. Especially the Cards right now are HIDEOUS!
Whats crazy is that fitz was being a ball boy during that game and watched his favorite team destroy his future team😳😳
Old school football at it's best.
War eagle
The greatest team to never win the Super Bowl. Had they not choked vs ATL the Vikings would have spoiled Elway's farewell.
You could give a case for the '06 Bears and '07 Patriots. I think the '07 Patriots were slightly better.
@@me6017 the 2013 Broncos were legit. Too bad they faced a Seattle squad hungry and ready to fight
@@martinmendez5058 true
Wow they was calling Ticky tack roughing the passer calls back then too
Pat Summerall was the best.
I strongly believe if ATL didn't played spoiler, the Vikings would have won their first Superbowl... They got their karma when they played Denver
They should’ve stopped falcons on the next drive. Or won it in OT.
People like to forget there was plenty of moments after the kick.
Not really karma
It would've been awsome to see that SB. But we got the Falcons being the Falcons.
98 Vikings is Equivalent to 00 Rams on Offense.
The 49ers had da 1 number offense that year not the vikings go look it up I was shock when I found out I know someone who is a 49ers fan I thought he was crazy but it's true I think da vikings just scored the points that year only and dats it
Vikings are a great franchise. Who cares that they don't have Lombardi? There are still a ton of great memories
Jake Plummer had to have been high off peyote cacti the way he started this game
Greatest player to never win a Super Bowl but deserves one
Damn near a picture perfect first drive by Minnesota
that offensive line wr and backs all complete
As a Packers fan I'm happy they didn't win the ring this year but it still blows my mind how they didnt that team was stacked on all sides
Same thing for the 2011 15-1 packers
Favorite Vikings uniforms ever. They should go back to it
I like the AP era shiny helmets the best
@@codyrichard6586 I think those were the worst in their history that’s why they switched so quick
2:59 you get a good shot of Pat TillMan with his helmet 🪖 Off , RIP
Was this the game where Pat said to John, "I guarantee that the winner of this game will be.........The team that scores that most points"?
13:04 wow
I’ve been a Vikings fan for a long time. I could have sworn it was purple and yellow
the purple people eater defense was a force even in the 90s
Late 80a more
Atlanta Falcons were thinking Gary is gonna miss a FG 😂🤣
When we played to win, not to lead. We don't run up the score, we time manage now...
Refs made a series of questionable calls in this game.
Some of John Madden's comments may seem bizarre when taken out of context of the rest of the conversation but likely just as bizarre in context. For example, 12:46
No one gave you your props for this gem that you found. Applaud this man youtube
David Palmer was one hell of a football player
And leroy hoard
When men were men.
Please put Cowboys vs Houston Oilers 1994 Tomorrow
Carter had the cachet to be able to throw the ball at the ref in frustration and the ref almost seems to be apologizing. 8:53
Damn this is when they had 5 teams an 3 divisions in the NFC an AFC
That offense that melted down, and a bad tacking defense ,is what killed this Vikings team in the championship game.
Murrell looked good! Unfortunately couldn't say the same thing about the passing game or the defense
You cannot tell me J.Plumber isnt a point shaver....
Vince tobin took over the cardinals after buddy ryan was fired and tobin took over the bears defense when buddy went to philly after coaching the legendary 85 bears defense
Aeneas williams didnt do a bad job
That unforgiving Turf
12:51 Final 5 Minute Mark Of The Game
I still can't believe the Oilers blew a 32 point lead.
cunningham had the most strongest arm in the nfl
Fr
The Cardinals got their revenge in 2003
Last play Derek Alexander crashed into John Randals leg. Look at Randle laying on the field. Was useless in the NFC championship game.
I had no idea the Cardinals had a playoff team in 1997/98
They weren't in the playoffs in 97, 98 only.
I can't get over how the Vikings' helmet color doesn't match the color of their jerseys. It just looks so off man.
Cowboys been doing that forever.
Final thoughts after watching this...Robert Griffith was underrated and Jake Plummer was better off picking a plumber as his career!! Oh and David Palmer was this generations Taysom Hill.
At 4:57 that was a bogus call vs Vikings defense.
Aeneas Williams was talkin shit about moss and carter before this game. He got busted by them
moss only had 3 catches on williams and he wasn't even on carter so what are you talking about??????
@@georgetoney1491 okay? Still had 73 yards and a touchdown lol didn't shut him down at all
if a little bit more luck went by the cards, i say they could have been defeated the Vikings....an Arizona vs Atlanta NFC Championship wow!
idk how the vikings didn't make it to the super bowl that season is beyond me. stupid falcons had to play spoilers and thankfully the broncos put those stupid birds in their place!
Exactly bro. It's more like karma
@@webbie1891 i know
They should of beat denver too
I didn’t know President Palmer played in the NFL
Too bad what happened the next week. Vikings vs Broncos would have been a better SB IMO.
God I'm so glad we don't have to listen to John and Pat anymore.
Well, now you don't ever have to hear Madden again.
Leroy Hoard was the man
12:50 funny Madden-ism
And you thought Joe Buck was bad...
I dare someone to defend this dribbler of an announcer. I’d take mid 2000’s Joe Buck over this donut.
Pat Summerall and John Madden? You're kidding, right?
Why waa moss traded so much
Even 20 plus years later, it is STILL SO IRRITATING listening to Madden. If only the popcorn popper would have done the job and ended it.
I'd rather listen to Madden then Collinsworth
And the Vikings still come up short, choke, choke, choke, choke, that’s all the Vikings do.
