Crazy after 37 years this movie is still being talked about to this day. I saw in the theater back then with my mom, brother, and cousins back in 1987. It was something about this movie and im glad to this day it still gets the recognition it deserves.
The attack on the guerilla base is a bit run of the mill action which is quite boring and feels lower in quality than the rest of the movie. Other than that, it's perfect.
@@jonstiffer4994bro, Arnold kicking it off by lifting the truck, Jesse Ventura with a mini gun, the “stick around” line, it’s definitely not run of the mill.
Predator is a top 3 action film of all-time and endlessly rewatchable. This movie, Die Hard, and T2 are the epitome of Action movies. Not enough love is sent to John McTiernan who directed 2 of those 3 movies!
Predator = Perfection. Saw this in theaters with my Dad at 8yo. Got it as soon as we could on VHS. I'd be scared to know how many times I've actually watched it, haha!
Lucky lol bet that was a night I wasn't around till a yr later so I missed it in theaters. I got all of em on DVD tho can't remember if I had vhs prolly did jus dnt remember
Predator is one of my favorite movies of all time. Right up there with RoboCop, Terminator, Terminator 2 and Aliens. What can I say? I love robots and aliens and PRACTICAL EFFECTS and 80's action horror!
Arnold is great in Predator, no doubt. But to me, his best, most emotional performance was in True Lies and his most iconic performance was in Terminator 2
This is one of my favorite Arnold Schwarzeneggar movies. It's got the action you'd expect, but it's also great sci-fi/horror elements to make this film stand out from Arnie's other action flicks
I strongly recommend the short story "Three Sparks", in Larry Correia's "Target-Rich Environment Vol. 2". It concerns a Predator's visit to medieval Japan, and how the Japanese fight it.
Definitely Arnold at his best. Everything from supreme action and signature cheesy humor, but also compassion, confusion, fear, and genuine vulnerability. He was never destined for Oscars by any means, but this movie is still (imo), his best demonstration of actually ACTING. We go from "Stick around 😏" to that Thousand Yard Stare at the end. Masterful progress.
I would argue that there are very few movies, whatever the genre, from this time, that hold up as well as Predator. An amazing movie that has aged flawlessly!
🦸Are we going to talk about how the Predator ending credits that show the movies cast has been redubbed with various classic tv themes? From Ducktales to Who's The Boss and The Greatest American Hero LOL!🤗📺🧑🎤🎥
A lot of great one liners. A lot of really memorable scenes. And a story that pivots in a completely different direction part way through. This would be a tough movie to make today. Not without shoehorning in at least one tough-as-nails woman who can outfight the men. And getting rid of all that macho nonsense, so it can appeal to "modern audiences". Then again, "Alien" and "Aliens" did quite well, as did the first two Terminator movies. The thing is, the women earned their toughness, and were not just Mary Sues.
Arnold had plenty of classics in the 80s imo! I remember how we all sat around the TV watching this come on. Yeah, we were allowed to watch R rated films as kids cuz our parents were cool and would explain sh*t! Also, we weren't as sensitive back then😏
I think this is the role Schwarzenegger inhabits the most. you really do see the leader of an elite special forces unit rather than just Arnie in costume.
For myself, this is my favorite movie that I would be to watch everyday. I would go to the movie theater to see it if the studios re released the film in the movie theaters. The soundtrack is epic with a real militaristic feel and as a small boy watching the movie, it makes you want to go to the military. The only other sequel that should have been done was part 2 with Danny Glover, but that really just opened up a can of little worms having the aliens (xenomorph) head mounted on the trophy wall. Glover should of had an alien weapon tossed to him instead of a flint lock pistol from 1715. The Prey movie must have been made by Disney, and really really did not make the movie masculine for young boys to watch, but really just made it for your modern generation to see one time. A one time watch film. AVP was in the same boat as prey is but not as expected. Spoiler (at the end of the first one you almost think the two protagonist are to kiss) , and really did not do well in having the location in the Hoth system. AVP should have followed the exact same script that the game did on the Xbox / PlayStation systems. Space, jungle, inside tombs, and modern facilities. Predator is probably one of Arnold's greatest films.
🎉 A classic of it's own kind. Part 2 is a guilty pleasure, because it's got Bill Paxton in it. 🤷🫡 Very good that there's been no other Predator Movies after that one. 👍😎🫡
Predator is in my Top 10 SciFi Action Films of All Time right besides Blade Runner 2049, The Matrix, Terminator 2, Star Trek 2, Star Wars A new Hope, Aliens and Starship Troopers. They do NOT make Films like this anymore 😑
All too often, negative reviews given to films of the past, (especially hugely popular films of the past,) are assessed by critics who either do not consider the context of the time period when the film was created/released or are the type of critics who enjoy giving negative reviews regardless of whether or not they've actually given a fair assessment of the film in question. Personally, I give "professional" film critics and websites little to no credibility when it comes to films I've watched or haven't watched. Remember, when it comes to being professional film critics, it doesn't mean they know movies; it means that they are good at conning others into paying them for their opinions.
With the exception of the very miscast Shane Black, Arnold is the weakest actor in the cast. However, once everybody else is dead, the final 30 minutes is one of the greatest mono a mono's in film history. Mctiernan's direction is just masterful.
1 and 2 are what i call predator movie The rest just get worse and worse to the point a tiny girl with axe on string can stop the once scary now mocked alien thanks to woke
John McTiernan had a hot streak starting with this movie, as he then followed up with Die Hard and then Hunt For Red October
A little bit of a gap but I’ve always loved 13th warrior and Basic too.
Crazy after 37 years this movie is still being talked about to this day. I saw in the theater back then with my mom, brother, and cousins back in 1987. It was something about this movie and im glad to this day it still gets the recognition it deserves.
I think Predator is a flawless action movie. When u think of macho over the top 80s action sci-fi u think of Predator
Real men making a real action movie

Yes. Maybe the manliest film of all
The sheer pace of the movie. It really pumps along
I LOVE Predator. One aspect that I thing doesn't get mentioned nearly enough is Alan Silvestri's iconic, thumping score. Dum nuh nuh NUH nuh...

One of my all time favorites..
Ours too! Arnie for the win!
Aliens and Predator are two of the best blends of Sci fi and action ever. Critics are almost always wrong.

I think Predator is so iconic that even though hundreds of UA-cam videos repeat the same stuff, people will still watch them.
One of those films that I will watch every time I see it's on TV
I've prolly watched dis movie no joke round 50 to 75x love dis movie its jus awesome would've been awesome 2 see in theaters back in the day.
😂😊😂😊😂
Predator? Anytime.
Even after all these years, I’ve still only ever seen this one. I never saw any of the others
predator 2 seems to get a bad rap but I’ve always loved it. Adds to the lore, doesn’t get ridiculous, new setting and original characters.
There's some guilty pleasure films in the franchise for sure. And Prey was pretty rad!

My favorite Arnold Schwarzenegger movie The action the characters the look of the Predator all perfect
Predator, The Terminator, and The Running Man are Arnie's best movies of the 80s.
I agree
Commando makes the top 3 over Running Man for me, but there is no wrong answer when it comes to 80s Arnie.
Predator is one of my favorite movies of all time. Right up there with RoboCop, Terminator, Terminator 2 and Aliens.

By far my favorite Arnold movie
It's one of the most perfect action movies ever made. To say otherwise is heresy.
Predator was a great movie with many great quotes coming from it.
One of my favourite movies of all time. A great movie all around but sometimes I feel the sound and score don’t get mentioned enough.
Agreed! Especially Predator 2, that soundtrack was even more epic than this one.
Arnold is great in Predator, no doubt. But to me, his best, most emotional performance was in True Lies and his most iconic performance was in Terminator 2
Absolutely nothing, haven't heard before 100 times, but still a brilliant, entertaining and fantastic Watch! Cheers 😊😊😊😊

Predator, commando, the running man , 🥰
Spot on. Then Total Recall
Commando i feel like was arnold at his most unstoppable. He was on easy mode with infinite armor/weapons. Unreal.

So weird to think that the Predator's clicking sound was Peter Cullen/Optimus Prime's voice. Transformers/Predator crossover anyone?
Rip carl weathers aka dillon 😢😢
When I first saw it I was thoughtly impressed, happy and gleefully excited that such a great action monster movie was made.

They’ve never been able to top the original Predator film. Incredible
I saw this when I was 18 on HBO a year after its release. This should have been the only Predator Film.
Predator is my all-time favourite movie
I would argue that there are very few movies, whatever the genre, from this time, that hold up as well as Predator. An amazing movie that has aged flawlessly!
The first Predator movie made nearly $100 million in the box office
Slipped in that NYT Trump slide 😂❤😂
His second best role, after Terminator movies!
Of course is the best. Because Predator (1987) next to Alien (1979) is the greatest movie of all time.
