I love that everytime Bill Murray sees it on TV he calls Lynch's husband, a personal friend of his, and says he's watching Patrick Swayze really giving it to his wife lmfao
That’s probably true, in general. My sister *loved* Dirty Dancing. But, I’m a chick, and my favourite Swayze movies are Road House, Next of Kin, and Steel Dawn. If I’m in the right mood for it, Point Break rates highly, but sometimes it irritates the fuck out of me, for no identifiable reason. On a completely different note, I also love To Wong Foo…”
Having met Marshall Teague a few times it is always cool to see him as Jimmy. The man in person is the polar opposite to the character he played on screen. He is charming, kind, funny and almost soft spoken at times. Having been a Navy Seal, holding several black belts in martial arts and after retiring from the Navy becoming a Sheriff he has led an exciting life :)
I saw and shook hands with Ed Harris in person once on one of the locations for A History of Violence where he was rehearsing a scene (though they didn't include it in the final film) and then came over to talk to the crowd. He was very charismatic and friendly and engaging, quite the opposite to his character's creepy persona.
The only movie that I've seen more times than Road House, is An Officer and a Gentleman. I still watch Road House all the time, sometimes back-to-back 😎
One word to describe this movie - badass. This movie has it all. Blues, hot chicks, fights and a couple of really good laughs. One of the most badass action movies there is. RIP Swayze.
The coolest guy to ever own poodles.. had one and he was the most visious dog I ever owned . This movie is a classic drifter hardcase with a heart of gold movie . No one did it better.. A staple of the 80s.. RIP to a true gentle King😢😢
I’m one of the few that saw Road House the play. It was off Broadway 20 years ago. I’d say it’s on the level of another Swayze classic that was turned into a stage play “Point Break”.
Roadhouse was a terrible movie The nostalgia for it has been bizarre. I remember that we turned it off half-hour in because it was so laughably bad, so very, very bad
I love this Movie.Great Soundtrack Fantastic 80s feel.Good Characters and bad Ass Action, emotions a Good Western Feel to it and great Actors like Swayze or Sam Elliot this Movie is Bad Ass top 10 Favorite Movies fpr sure
I am a huge action fan I talked to my friends into going to see Roadhouse with me on its initial release and it's always been a favorite and the best way to look at it is as a modern-day Western
The new one with Gyllenhaal is a lot of fun but it’s definitely no comparison to the original. I still think the fact that they called it Roadhouse was a bad idea because people were immediately going to compare it to the original. On its own it’s a fun silly action movie. Gyllenhaal clearly put a lot of effort into it but the dialogue just doesn’t land, the villain isn’t threatening, and the owner of the bar is not even a character. Still yet, I’m sure it’s a million times better than anything Rhonda Rousey would’ve started in 😂 she just cannot act.
The original Road House is a Classic. I think Jake Gyllenhaal is great and I plan on watching the remake, however no one can compete with Patrick Swayze.
I grew up obsessed with Monster Trucks, and I saw the behind the scenes take of Bigfoot crushing the Ford Dealership clip for YEARS before I ever saw the actual movie. When I finally did see it, I thought it was hilarious that one scene where the dudes are trying to do a stakeout of the Double Deuce...with their giant monster truck parked across the street. totally inconspicuous lol
John Doe didn't do a lot of movies but always great to see him show up! Road House is a classic for sure! I saw the recent remake and it's ok I guess but definitely not a classic and just feels unnecessary
If anyone can find that white shirt that looks like a Gi you let me know. I’ve been looking for that thing since the film came out. Apparently only one was made and it recently went for about $5k at an auction.
I really enjoyed sam Elliott and Patrick Swayze in this film i watched the film several years ago i even convinced my mother to watch it she loved it she never heard of this movie before i recommend to her
A full helping of 1980's Swayze cheese snack. Pure cinema junk food. Not good but..... oh so satisfying. Nostalgia and the absolute garbage produced today keeps making this old movie seem better with age.
cliff notes. It was extremely popular and has been referenced in modern culture repeatedly. The unoriginal hollywood even rebooted it like they have been doing to a lot of 80s/90s movies because they are talentless now
Like many classic films, this did not do well at the box office when first released. Inexplicably neither did Swayze's best film "Point Break" 2 years later.
Why the hate? Yes, it’s a movie of its time. Oh, and how many hundreds of movies afterwards shows a 22 year-old female knockout as a surgeon/naval officer flying stealth bombers, etc.
Never really been a huge fan of Road House but I recently watched the remake, and while the basic premise was similar, it really lacked the heart and charm of the original.
No mention of Christopher "STARSCREAM and COBRA COMMANDER" Collins as the dude trying to pimp out his blond wife at the beginning of Roadhouse??? Ah well, still a good video, JoBlo! 😁
I finally got around to watch this the week before the remake dropped (it's been on my to watch list since the 90s) and I fucking loved it.. Just a nice movie from end to end Even during the opening shot I was thinking.. Man I miss when movies looked like this.. A heightened reality but still clearly a fantasy.. We got way to hung up on movies looking "realistic" these days.. That said I didn't hate the remake, it was fun in a diffent way and didn't try to outright copy the original
has always been, will always be, one of my favorite movies and one of the best slices of 80s cinema. Just like Highlander, i REFUSE to watch anythjng but the original because anything that came after only diluted the source.
Why is it, I wonder, that films with actual FX and stunt work cost so much less than the CGI messes we get today? Some films that are dominated by CGI are really good--Titanic, T2 are good examples--but most--The Prequels, and most everything else--are just crappy to look at even if the stories (as with the Prequels) are really interesting. Perhaps the poor acting we see to day is also a product of CGI, not that the performers are cgi, but because performers REQUIRE something to 'act' against. Look at the meeting scene between Jody Foster and Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs, the entire film Whatever Happened to Baby Jane (not the remake with the Redgraves) or even the interactions between Dorothy and the Wicked Witch of the West in the 1939 classic Wizard of Oz.
80s kids here and this was definitely a notable film which ages like a fine wine. Watch the new one with trepidation and me and the missus after it finished were both nodding and saying you know what, that was really enjoyable.
Road House is like a stop sign for channel surfers. Once you chance on it in your wanderings forget it you ain't leaving until the polar bear falls.
That is a fact 😎
"Be nice, Until it's time to not be nice."
I love that everytime Bill Murray sees it on TV he calls Lynch's husband, a personal friend of his, and says he's watching Patrick Swayze really giving it to his wife lmfao
Hahahaha 🎉that's so weird it deserves a thumbs up at 1:14 1:29
BTW it's great!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉

When chicks think of patrick swayze movies, they think of Dirty Dancing. When dudes think of Patrick Swayze movies, they think of Roadhouse
and Point Break!

I'm a gay, but ironically when I think of Swayze I think of either The Outsiders or GHOST. Road House/Dirty Dancing are 3rd.
@@JoBloOriginals ah geez I shamed myself forgetting that Kathryn Bigelow gem
@@Blast2224 I just watched the outsiders again for the first time in years. Still a classic
R.I.P. Patrick Swayze
I still have it on VHS.

Cult following? Wtf? Road house rules and everyone knows it.
I love this awesome movie!! I finally found an original copy of the soundtrack on vinyl!! RIP Jeff Healey
Just watched this again on HBO recently and it's still entertaining!
Legendary movie. One of the all time great action movies.
12:16 lmaooo that’s john cassavettes, film buff
Hell, Roadhouse is one of my favorite guilty pleasures
There's nothing to be ashamed about when it come to this movie.

I like that the band playing at The Band Stand during the opening scene is also the Titty Twister's house band in From Dusk Til Dawn.
One of the top 5 greatest action movies of the era and one of my all time favorites!!
Let’s not get carried away
it's perfect lightning in a bottle 80's action movie cheese. have loved this since I watched it as a kid back in the day back on video
Swayze may have the looks but Sam Elliot is the coolest dude ever.
Just like Big Trouble in little China, Road House bombed at the box office but found life on home video and cable
On board the Pork Chop Express
@@NickLoecke Love that movie
technically didn’t bomb at all, doubled its money. just wasn’t a smash

Screw those critics this movie was the shit back in the '80s.

what happen to this movie he say??? Not a Got Damn thing sir!!! roll tide
12:17 Seriously! That's John Cassavetes not Nick!
I immediately think of Family Guy the Roadhouse episode 😅. It's "Brian's got a new Hag "
Jack's Back is better than any of the Road Houses. That's right, I said it.

Original Roadhouse was great, the new one is a joke.
Polar Bear fell on me.
I wonder if those bill Murray calls got embellished in the retelling .I heard they were much less raunchy . at least the ones to Kelly .
I am a huge action fan I talked to my friends into going to see Roadhouse with me on its initial release and it's always been a favorite and the best way to look at it is as a modern-day Western
MAAAAAAAAN, Road House is just fine😁😍👊🏿🦵🏿
This was the movie that made me fall in love with Kelly Lynch. 😅

This movie is a classic!
Sam Elliott always has the best hair ❤
Dated? The fights, stunts and action was better than most movies today.
My mom is a huge Sam Elliot fan and I watched this on vhs with my parents when I was 23ish….they still fast-forwarded over the sex scene!😂
The movie that absolutely did not need a cheesy terrible remake

Me too, plus Dirty Dancing. Rest in peace, Patrick Swayze, you'll be forever missed.
Yeah, I also saw Dirty Dancing. I forgot to add that
Cool story
What about Red Dawn?
Road House and Point Break for me. Both movies magically get even better a few minutes after the halfway mark.
A full helping of 1980's Swayze cheese snack. Pure cinema junk food. Not good but..... oh so satisfying. Nostalgia and the absolute garbage produced today keeps making this old movie seem better with age.

RIP Patrick 😢🙏
Yep, lost count how many times Ive watched it over the decades. Random cruising on streaming, see it, sure, why not.
People who can’t see the genius of roadhouse and all of its lessons are just not watching it the right way
John Doe never gets any love for his role as conniving nephew.
Classic. The remake is very disappointing.
When I first saw this movie I thought it was super cheesy but I have learned to appreciate it over time
can you do wtf happened to gumby the movie?
12:16 - FYI, that's his father John Cassavetes not Nick in the clip.
Awesome video
"Road House!" I always think of Peter Griffin. This movie is a prime slice of 80's cheese, but has an odd charm about it.
cliff notes. It was extremely popular and has been referenced in modern culture repeatedly. The unoriginal hollywood even rebooted it like they have been doing to a lot of 80s/90s movies because they are talentless now
The director Rowdy Herrington went on to make many wonderful films including the 1992 film Gladiator. Are you familiar with that movie?
Like many classic films, this did not do well at the box office when first released. Inexplicably neither did Swayze's best film "Point Break" 2 years later.
Notice how Dalton vanishes in the last moments of the film?
Did they run out of money so swayze went home?
Jeff Healey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
