Yeah, HMX switches sounded nearly identical to each other except probably Canglan v2s, but so are the countless recolors of the old-gen switches. BSUN Roselle, on the other hand, has a fuller and deeper sound signature (with a bit of audible scratch) and is very smooth out of the box. You're probably tired of these long-pole switches, and so am I HAHA. but we're talking about smoothness here, not sound.
Gateron Smoothie. Best switch I've ever used by faaaaaaar. Made me wanna throw my scratchy ass CJ's in the garbage and they were more than twice the price!!! I'm blown the F away. Perfect lubing, and I've lubed thousands of switches. In fact the stock lubing is so daam good, that if I even attempt to lube them, I could only see myself making it worse. I like a lighter spring, and these hit the absolute bullseye for me. Wow, just wow.
Ur cj’s are scratchy??? Must’ve gotten unlucky. They’re the smoothest switch I have beating out smoothies and are on par with my durock poms and tangies which have uhmwpe
@@xxcridonxx7614 Yes. Ink housings don't even compare to full pom IMO, and they're on the heavier side for my personal preference. In fact, the Smoothie has literally made question my whole perspective on keyboard switches. There's no such thing as a budget switch to me anymore, especially when the cheapest switches I ever bought are also the best switches I ever used lol.
I will never not vouch for the Sea Glasses. I was a vehement poppy tactile boy until trying them and immediately bought 100 of them. They're just so soft, unique, whispy, and pillowy it's amazing
Gateron Smoothie's don't get enough love, they are amazing switches for the price. By far the most enjoyable switches I've ever used, I don't see myself switching to anything else anytime soon.
1000%. they're the best switch I've ever tried. And I've tried milky yellow pros, CJs , durock creamy yellow, ink blacks and even aqua kings.... Smoothies are in a league of their own to me.and it's the only switch with an opaque housing that doesn't completely destroy RGB. The price is the most mind blowingly thing of all. It actually makes me question the entire switch market now, if these switches can be this good and be this cheap.
@@lute_cgI have both and smoothies are slightly smoother with a slightly higher pitch. Cream sodas are more thocky due to milky too housings. Both are extremely smooth tho. I prefer smoothies for a lower pitched clack while cream sodas have a creamier thock. Both switches however have a weaker/quieter space bar bottom out sound
The Sea Glass may be what I'm been searching for... one of my favorite switches has been handlubed Moyu Studios Hoshizoras but JWK's stems and springs were a bit wobbly and pinged without additional lubing. The reason why they've started falling out of favor for me is the large amount of stem wobble. While they glide like hot melted butter thanks to that P3 stem (a special UHMWPE blend) in a milky housing so they have a nice creamy midrange sound. They definitely don't feel like the 62g bottom out they claim as you stated. I've switched them out of Gateron Smoothies which for my batch are surprisingly tight and well lubed. They aren't the butter smooth the Hoshis are but definitely smoother than even BSun Sunsets/Bolsa Lagunas. Are the Sea Glass more in line with newer switches in terms of wobble? I'm hoping they're an updated version of the Hoshis.
Pretty comprehensive and detailed explanation on these switches. Thanks for that. I don't know. I guess it's just me. No matter how many switches I try, I keep going back to tangerine67g, kiwi and mint (low profile).
Please do a bigger vid with more HMX switches, due to how many switches they've made recently the choice overload is real. Need to know what makes them different from each other apart from the weird and wacky plastic compositions
I like what you are doing! Cool advertising for your store and great previews. Just ordered some 70 Morandi based on your recommendation. I would have picked some stabs up on your site too if you had any.
I do like the sound of the morandis but I absolutely hate the stem wobble. The worst I have ever experienced. TTC venus switches were definetely an upgrade. Also not enough people talk about the TTC Venus switches
Nice vid. I have a question. The Durock Sea Glass are they loud compared to Aqua king? I am on my mission to find some smooth and muted switches. Some of them are just so loud T.T
Which one is the quietest switch among the five? I was considering aqua king being relatively quiet but Morandi sounds great too so I am wondering if the noise level is about the same as Aqua king?
I feel that classic vs modern thing. I have some Gateron Cap V2 Golden, and I tried it in my Rainy75 but if feels, boring. muted, but deeper. Of course the stock switched in my kb is HMX Violets. It's clackier and poppier. I like thock too but, I don't think the Cap V2 is getting it
Hi, after seeing ur videos on best linear switches I've bought the aqua king v3s. But they're very scratchy and after heavy lubing, like 30% of them still stay super scratchy and not smooth... Is there any fixes to this?
The thing about Aqua King is that it has very minimal stem wobble due to the super tight housing + stem, heavy lubing will only contribute to that tightness which will lead to the switch being sluggish and still somewhat maintain the scratch, as there is no space for the stem to operate up and down. I would recommend you to clean and re-lube them again, but with a very light amount this time.
Aqua Kings are the biggest disappointment in my entire mechanical keyboard journey. In their stock state, half of my 90pc batch was unusable due to extreme scratchiness. I re lubed them all and I managed to salvage roughly half of the most scratchy ones. The rest is beyond rescue. They are so tight, that the stem rubs against top housing. Overrated switch to say the least. Even stock NK Creams were WAY batter. WS Morandis eat Aqua kings for breakfast in terms of smoothness...
HMX is my fave brand of switch. HMX Garnets are easily the best and fave for my tastes. But the world of HMX lives only in clack and sharp tones. If you don’t like clack, these will almost never be for you at the time of writing this.
Im really glad that you're stocking up on HMX switches. Living in Cali, its so much easier for me to order from your site.
I swear the clips look so nice and smooth, different angles, good backgrounds, good camera work
Direct and straight to the point! Thank you for making these videos
Not enough people talk about the HC Studio / BSUN Roselles. Excellent switches.
I agree with you, not to mention other BSUN's and HMX's LY stems which I think should've been mentioned on this list.

@@lute_cg cream sodas are too heavy for me and they're not full POM.... Smoothies all the way.

How would you compare any of HMX’s switches that you’ve tried to the TTC Venus/Neptune in terms of smoothness?
So good. Thank you! Looking to pick up some switches to try in the upcoming Wooting 80HE

WS Morandi over Gateron Smoothies?
IMO Gateron Smoothies are better in all aspects than WS Morandis for a cheaper price
Totally agree
Silver smoothies? Regular smoothies?
@@Guessaga they only vary in different springs

Try Oil Kings
aqua kings barely have any noise. I personally wasnt too much a fan of them for their premium price point
You just stepped up the switch review game! Wondering if we can have a recommendation vid for heavy typists 😊
I love that suggestion
I really dig the sound profile on that sea glass one, is your neo gasket or gummy o ring mounted?
O-ring for the Sea Glass one
Aquakings used to be my fave but then I tried HMX hyacinth v2u and they felt sluggish and doughy in comparison. The HMX felt almost frictionless.

What switches are best for mistyping? Something that requires more force to actuate. Not used to this cherry profile I guess
you can change the springs of any switches
Are you going to carry the heavier spring'd xinhais and lotus?
Lotus available here: milktooth.nu/products/switches/lotus
Heavier spring'd Xinhais in the near future..
I just got the morandis and they were def worth the hype, they feel so good to type on
is the xinhai better than the v2u?
WS Jade also worth a mention
