Maiden kills MTV! They were really on fire back then. It's a shame this era of Maiden gets so much shit over it. X Factor was an amazing record! Up the Irons!
It is in my top 10 Maiden picks. It's great. It was dark and ambiant. It was the mid-90's, and it fit the times perfectly. Plus Blaze is also a really nice bloke.
Agreed! It's faster than the studio version, maiden is notorious for playing their songs faster live, Blave is trying to sing it at the right tempo while everyone is blazing through it (no pun intended).
blaze was awesome. i really like his albums. he couldnt sing bruces songs very good cuz he has a different voice register. And i dont think he's lipsyncing here. You can't play live with the band an playback the vocals. You would get timing issues. And maiden never played playback (once in a german tv show. they made fun of it and switched instruments).
@@hugolafhugolaf Because he was the front singer of the pre band before Iron Maiden shows at that time, and there he performed much better than Bruce. They hired him because he was a greats singer.
@@hugolafhugolaf Totally agree with you! Don't understand why they hired the guy, as he couldn't sing the Bruce era songs. @maxinator80ify Lol! No. Even when Bruce is at his worst, his performance is still MUCH BETTER than Blaze at his best!!!
Can't believe these posts... Playback? Are you serious? This is the mighty Iron Maiden! Besides, you can hear Blaze mistiming the beginning of "Sick of waiting.." line at 2:15 (and then doing it correctly at 2:17)...
Bruce did playback in Germany once as a promotion for Wasted Years from Somewhere in Time album, so yes it does happen at times and I suspect the band does it to save time. Of course this video isn't playback anyone can see that, just saying.
The X factor and Virtual XI are great albums. In my opinion a lot better than No prayer for the Dying and Fear of The Dark the previous two with Bruce. And I'm Maiden fan for 25 years by now.
@ricardozs1983 : I love Virtual XI! I think it's better than a lot of other Maiden albums (like Fear of the Dark, NPFTD, DoD, TFF). Futureal, Como Estais, Educated Fool, When Two World Collide, The Clansman (!!), Lightning Strikes Twice, Don't Look To The Eyes of Stranger (could have been shorter - but the live version from France is amazing). They are all great songs in my opinion! And The Angel and the Gambler... well, you know what its problem is ;)
Ahah i just saw him in live few days ago, and as usual, it was amazing. Certainly, it's smaller gig, smaller crowd but this guy make his music for his fans. I never miss a gig from him since ten year. And solo album are fucking great. You have to listen ;)
I think the biggest problem from the Blaze-era was the production of these two albums. If I remember it correctly, production for The X Factor took too much time for the band, while production for Virtual XI had too be done in quite a short time.
Well I won't compare Blaze with Bruce or Paul. It's obvious that when you put a baritone to hit the high notes it sounds weird. I think the X Factor is a great album. At the time Iron Maiden had a different approach. More darker and gloomy. I was at the X Factour and Blaze sounded good with his songs. Bruce is one of a kind for sure. I think Blaze did the best he could.
Great Song, great album, Blaze doesn't get the credit he deserves, if Bruce was singing on this album it would of sold more by default. To me this album is better than any of the albums they did with Bruce's second spell with the band.
He's not a CRAP singer per se, just compared to Dickinson, ANYONE sounds like crap. Pavorotti would sound like crap singing Iron Maiden. GOD WOULD SOUND LIKE CRAP SINGING MAIDEN. \m/
Blaze was an alright singer. But he was NOT the right singer for Iron Maiden! They could honestly have got a singer who could sing the Bruce era Maiden songs. And X Factor and Virtual XI are the WORST Iron Maiden albums ever!!! X Factor is by far the worst one and doesn't even sound like a Maiden album!!!
Blaze is miming to a live playback the band are playing live though..shit maiden years although i must confess i saw them twice on their next tour Virtual X1 in London and Wolverhampton UK and i liked this line up at the time lol
@Paulo Torres Lol! You're delusional!!! X Factor is the WORST Iron Maiden of ALL TIME!!! ALL of Bruce era Maiden albums are better than the two Blaze era Maiden albums could ever dream of!!!
Blaze had serious voice problems when touring (allergies) and also couldn't reach classic high notes (because he's baritone). In this video his voice hadn't any problem. He is a great singer (not Bruce) but you have to admit that Wrathchild sounds aggressive and powerful, similar to Paul, and way better than Bruce on my opinion...
Love how the cameras always avoided to film Blaze's ridicolous movements.
Lukeblueslover 😅😅😅😅😅
Best Blaze song I've heard.. 🤘🏻😎

On stage Blaze is like that special kid in school who is freaking out and everyone pretends not to notice to be polite.
I love this song. I love the "X Factor". F*ck the haters.
Dave's Jackson is awesome !
Glenn Danzig lookalike at that time!
X Factor....great album!
Indeed!
It is in my top 10 Maiden picks. It's great. It was dark and ambiant. It was the mid-90's, and it fit the times perfectly. Plus Blaze is also a really nice bloke.
That is NOT playback. Blaze is fighting the band for the right speed.
Agreed! It's faster than the studio version, maiden is notorious for playing their songs faster live, Blave is trying to sing it at the right tempo while everyone is blazing through it (no pun intended).
love x Factor
the saddest era of maiden. IMHO. probably if The x Factor would have been recorded with bruce on vocals, the story coulded be different.
"Who's Eddie?" Geez

LOVE Baily Maiden! Both X-Factor and Virtual x1 is awesome albums. Hope they play more Blaze songs touring 2012/2013
@blood and silver Lol! Not even CLOSE!!! Bruce NAILS Wrathchild MUCH BETTER than Blaze could EVER dream of!!!
yup blaze nailed this song.... but only this one
Lol and some other songs and that album but mostly all bruce songs sounded terrible him on vocals
@blood and silver Nope. Bruce sings Wrathchild MUCH BETTER than Blaze EVER did!!!
Iron maiden on MTV? what the hell?
Can't believe these posts... Playback? Are you serious? This is the mighty Iron Maiden! Besides, you can hear Blaze mistiming the beginning of "Sick of waiting.." line at 2:15 (and then doing it correctly at 2:17)...

The X Factor and Virtual XI were both great, Blaze gets too much crap from people
Great performance!
X FACTOR IS A GREAT ALBUM AND BLAZE DID GREAT WORK WITH MAIDEN SO SHUT UP AND ENJOY THE SONG
Janick still didn't learn to play .
He suffered a bike accident which caused his movement be stuff at the time
The X factor and Virtual XI are great albums. In my opinion a lot better than No prayer for the Dying and Fear of The Dark the previous two with Bruce. And I'm Maiden fan for 25 years by now.
its not playback, its just that blaze sounds better than he did later in the tours!
man Maiden were on fire with this performance!

wow, must say, this may be the best blaze performance with Maiden I've seen. He had some really bad moments but when he was on he was on, damn.
Interesting to see Bayley's decline after he left Maiden
Eddiethenotsogreat what decline? Have you heard the quality of the albums he's been releasing since?
Ghost in the machine is epic.
Decline? Nearly every studio album he has released since has been great

Blaze did a great job with Wrathchild
Surprisingly Wrathchild with Blaze sounds pretty good here!
FALLING DOWN!!
Blaze dances REALLY funny! XD Wa he doesn't have MS too, does he?!?! O_O
If the guitars were an audio track, there wouldn't have been that feedback before they started.
Wrathchild fits much better in Blaze's voice than in Bruce's
+Glauco Pantoja its obvious they wanted di'anno #2 with him
Glauco Pantoja because wrathchild is a song for deep voice.
Shame neither of the albums they released with him are as good as the Di'Anno albums
Ta doidão ou surdo? Hehehehe
Not in the slightest
Blaze sounds awesome here when he doesn't have allergies he sounds amazing
say what you want about Blaze but he totally nailed Wrathchild better than Bruce
Blaze's ridiculous movements are just as annoying as Janick's...
Top new singer? is she serious?

oh my goodness, what a naughty boy you are! come on, I guess that the blow he's got by Iron Maiden would have killed an elephant!
I like bruce better on wrathchild, blaze just cant match him.
The audience is rather strange for that kind of music.
