Sick build. I picked up a 2013 GX premium a couple years ago that I've taken to the snow, lakes, desert, mountains, etc... lifted with 33's and SSO Rock sliders. It's a start, but she's more than capable as is. Never letting her go. I could care less about the MPG's. I bought it for family adventures and that trumps everything else.
The blue wheels are sick!! What a really nice rig you have built up. The overloading stuff is not my cup of tea but you have it setup for your use. Great job young man.
All the mods and add-ons cost more than the vehicle itself! I'd be happy with just getting my hands on that suspension set up. Sick rig! I hope to do something like that with my 2011
Haha that’s funny cause I didn’t have a dead cat, but I used an actual sock to cover the mic here and the audio was still horrible. It was just a super bad windy day 😞
That's PERFECT hiding the high lift like that-- great job!!! LOVE that overall setup... as i said- I hate the front grille on those- but I'd cut that bottom section OFF and go reddog bumper , winch, lights etc. in teh front and replace the top part with the one that says LEXUS in it..
I was talking to Rigd about their swing outs and asked them to make a left hand swing out for the gx owners so you could use the table function with the rear door open. They told me no because no one wants to swing it out towards traffic. Unless I get a bunch of Aussies to commit to them. Looks like this will be a great option
That's just epic. The best of everything and purpose-built. I'm just starting on a 2004 GX 470, so this is inspirational. I'll practice on the 470 & upgrade to a newer 460, once I've done it all once on the cheap.
I just trimmed my bumpers as well. Where did you get the cover for your cut?. I wanted a clean look to my cuts. I too have RSG sliders in fab right now out here in CO. Skid plates to come.
Did you get the Extended gas tank?? There is an additional gas tank you can get that fits the wheel well where the spare was-- and connects to the main tank like one BIG one- and gives you 56 gallon capacity-- for over 800 miles driving wtihout refilling... :) Couldn't hear for the wind- but why the LEFT hand opening on the tire carrier??

What year 460 is that? I know there are some that look like the 470s.. and that's what i'd want-- and I noticed NO rust AT ALL under that one-- GREAT!!!
@@PUREADDICT I knew YOURS was new- but is it barn door or split back..? and the extended tank was to be on a 470 to give it around 800 miles driving range on a fill up- so trails etc. don't require carrying plastic or metal tanks for someone to mess with.
i wouldn't mind one of those except for that BUTT UGLY front end.. BUT I could cut the bottom off to install a red-dog bumper with lights etc. and replace the top section with one that says LEXUS in a custom frame... (available at some places).. and it would look fine. Have to have the barn door though- NO flip and and drop down crap..
I am thinking about buying used GX460 but at what point do you need to change the suspension on it? I just thinking about light off road and mostly overlanding. I want to go about it without changing the suspension. I do want a roof rack, roof tent but not sure if getting winch is okay due to the weight.
great question. I would say once you start getting bigger tires you’ll want a solid suspension setup to lift the rig and perform well. Even if you’re just “overlanding” you could run into some technical trails where you’d fair better with a good setup 👍

@@MusicLuv80 it will depend suspension setup, namely your spring rates and if you plan to run external bypasses or not.

I’m thinking he probably didn’t wanna cut any of the body, probably why he didn’t touch the rear bumper or the front bumper.
The front bumper and the rear bumper have been trimmed up for better ground clearance and approach and departure angles
