Very informative. Thank you! I just had my clutch bled after trouble changing gears - this explains what exactly was going on, and why it felt like there was a "gap" when I was pressing on the pedal.

Thanks for that terrific demo. I have a 2008 Jeep Patriot 5spd and one day the master cycl was empty. Bought a manual vacuum kit thing and tried to suck the air out, but I guess there was too much air. It will have to be towed to the garage, maybe need a new slave/master cylinder get up I guess.

My car (Honda Civic 2005 Exi) has vibration during first and reverse gear, I cannot run my car as ants walk in blocked traffic it shakes and there is clutch free play as well. With a new set of clutch and pressure plate installed I cannot imagine if it is a clutch plate or fly wheel issue. Is there any air bubble problem? Please help me in this issue. Thank you.

I have a 1994 Corolla; I recently replaced the slave and master cylinders and just had a new clutch kit installed. I've vacuum bled the system and am sure all the air is out, but now I have a weird symptom: in the morning, there is about 3/4 inch of freeplay in the clutch pedal which is perfect and within spec. As I start driving, the pedal loses that freeplay and gets firm and then kind of normalizes to about 1/8 to 1/16 of freeplay. I'm fairly certain there is no preload of the master cylinder rod. I've readjusted it warm to make certain there isn't any. I've looked at the release fork in the morning before starting the car and that sloppiness/sponginess at the top of the pedal does in fact move the release fork (not air in the system compressing), so it seems there is mechanical play in the clutch release bearing or the pressure plate, or something, that goes away after the car gets driven. Is it normal for there to be that much expansion/contraction in the throwout bearing or the clutch disk/pressure plate itself??? Thanks!

Hi there, I bought a new Fiat 500 for my wife and sometimes there is a need for me to drive it. However, the clutch bite point is too high on the pedals travel for me to drive it comfortably (I am quite tall and have long legs). I was just wondering if its possible to move the bite point on a hydraulic clutch? In my case to lower it down a bit. Thanks for any advice you can give.

I have an Alfa GT and recently had a new master cylinder fitted as it failed completely and the pedal went to the floor. I now have another problem and that is when the engine/gearbox are cold the pedal has some slack travel and the bite point is at the bottom, as the car warms up, the slack goes and the bite point comes to the top to the point that the clutch slips under power. The clutch had no slipping before this was done. do you think that air is in the concentric slave and expanding with heat? should I vacuum bleed the system? thanks in advance for your help.

Flywheel is a single plate, and i dont know how to describe the clutch i just know its a oem exedy clutch for 2010 infiniti g37 sport rwd. And i forgot to put grease on the release bearing. Firstly, I'd like to say thanks for your post.
Secondly, I just took my Kia Bongo 3 to a Kia Service Centre in Busan, S. Korea for a clutch assy. replacement. Upon receiving my car back, I noticed that the Clutch offers no resistance, until it's almost completely depressed and even then only a little. The Clutch also does not have the same kick that you would expect from a new clutch. I went to them with a new clutch assy. which I had bought else where and asked them to install it. I didn't stay to watch, but rather came back every so often. Is it possible that one mechanic can swap out the clutch and have it working in 20 minutes?
I strongly suspect that there is air trapped in the line, or he didn't swap the Assy. out as he should have.
This type of thing is quite a common occurrence here, people are getting cheated all the time, but don't know any better.
What are your thoughts on the matter? Air Bubble?

      Thanks again.

@@perfectionclutch Thanks Gary, I'll try what you suggested and see what happens. R, 4th and 5th are all fine. Hi push your slave cylinder with hand and see if u are getting bubbles on clutch reservoir. If u don't that means u don't have air bubble. U can use mityvac before this procedure. Make sure there is no leak on lines. If all good then change master cylinder. Having master slave and all lines are nice and tight with no air bubbles , this should work

I’m having a problem with my clutch. When I bought the truck, the previous owner said it had a new clutch but needed to be bled, and that that was the reason that it was hard to press, had zero play, and grabbed very high. I have tried bleeding it twice. The first time I bled it, it was good for about 2 days. Grabbing low and had play. Then about 2 days later. It was back to grabbing high and very stiff from the very top. So I tried bleeding it a second time and it was good for all of 30 minutes then went back to normal. I’m not a very experienced mechanic and have no idea what the problem is, if anyone knows

It is smooth for about 5 to 10 shifts and then goes spongy again. could this be something causing air bubbles ? Also when I use the brakes on the highways, the clutch isn't smooth. Sir I really need your help in this clutch sounds which comes after installing new clutch system. There are no hard shifting in gear transmissions, everything is normal. Clutch disc, pressure plate and clutch bearing all lubricated properly wherever required, and no leak in both clutch cylinders. m.ua-cam.com/video/DVJCERkwS2w/v-deo.html
Sir, it happens only after replacing with new clutch. And this sound did not come with the old clutch. Any ideas or suspect regarding pressure rings getting hard...? And how to identify hard pressure rings?
