    Try doing it one handed with no tools after a couple decades worth of road grime gets in there and works its magic.. while lying under the vehicle on your back with dirt falling in your eyes and icy cold rain water collecting and dripping directly onto your crotch and with long hair wrapped up and stuck in the creeper wheel so it pulls tighter and tighter no matter which way you try to move… try it like that, if you would please, sir.

    Thanks for the video! My clutch line was missing the release sleeve so I cut a strip from a Brake Cleaner can and formed it into a sleeve to insert into the connection and used the Ford tool to release the line. When I tried to reconnect the line It wouldn't connect until I released the bleed screw and let all the fluid bleed out, then it clicked right in.

    I cant find the other line for the slave drive, i was hoping you would show the other side install as well. My truck is in another town where i have to drive out to work on it and its taking me months but at least i've been very careful and methotic on every thing i've done the truck. Now that i'm to this point (putting the flywheel back on along with everything else) i feel good with the install of clutch assembly) not to mention new bearing and new seal! I've replaced everything i could afford to so once i get slave drive on and verify it's working properly next is the trans! Cant wait.

      If you have to remove the tranny you may have to cut the hose which means replacing the hose and maybe the throw-out bearing. Just make sure you have the white sleeve pushed all the way in on all sides. I think the hose goes through the frame but look at unbolting the master cylinder which may give you enough slack to drop the tranny. That is if you can do what you need to do with the tranny laying under the truck.

    HOW TO REMOVE THE HYDRONIC LINE FROM THE SLAVE THAT HAS A MISSING PLASTIC DRIVE SLEEVE.
    The shark's tooth connector is difficult to remove and usually winds up a disaster if the plastic drive ring is gone. Here is how.
    With snips cut a piece of thin metal from something like an old gutter. 5/16" X about 3.5".Curl the strip around something close to the approx size. With the new slave curl the piece to fit and cut off the excess length just a tiny bit short. Make sure it is uniform and fits the inner lip. Now this will replace the gone plastic ring.
    On the stuck line start the curve strip at one of its corners. Gently push the ring around the line and into the sleeve. This may be difficult but work it carefully around the curve into place. Once in tap gently driving your new ring in a bit at a time.
    It will force the teeth open just as the original plastic ring did freeing the line for removal. Works great and won't damage anything.
    Hope this helps on any sharks tooth stick connected lines you have. Take care and it works every time. Quicker and cheaper than buying a new cylinder or trying to cut the slave line requiring re bleeding the air trapped in the cylinder. Thanks.

      @atownda_realesttv5585 If I remember correctly I put a LARGE pair of vise grips as close to the SC port as possible and tightened them down to where I almost couldn't close them into the lock position. Then I bowed up on them using the transmission casing for leverage. I thought I was going to break it but it finally broke loose and came right out

      I can’t get the clip in on my clutch line because the f150 trans has a different casting from the ranger one and its impossible to clip it in

      I don't think there is, I ordered 2 slave cylinders the same brand and part number and they were 2 different styles.

    How do you install the line when there is no quick release and the line won't go all the way in for the clip to catch ?

    • @everydayirace
      @everydayirace  17 днів тому

      Release pressure from slave cylinder by loosening the bleeder first.

    How do u take it off with a screwdriver

    • @bobv8219
      @bobv8219 2 роки тому

      Very careful first spray the connector with wd40 use a lot , sand is the problem here. Push the plastic sleeve gently at various points as it slides into the space it’ll go till it’s flush with the face of the metal at this point continue pushing gently all around the plastic ring but don’t damage the plastic sleeve.

    You should show how you rermove thge line un der the vehicle and ahow the tool that is made for removing the line. ALSO, any time youmalke a video of replacing a part like this, most people need to see the complete proceedure of how to remove the unit. WHY would you think thios was a proceedure worhty of their time?

    • @connorjones1485

      Because most people who are looking to remove the line can pull a transmission with an external slave. There are so many different types of line fittings however, that sometimes it’s been a while since we’ve seen that particular fitting type and need a refresher on how it works. I didn’t need a full transmission removal video, all I needed was help with that one fitting.

    • @everydayirace
      @everydayirace  3 місяці тому

      If by safety clip you mean a retainer clip like in this video, there are 2 ways that it can come out, 1 is you don't have a white sleeve in the master cylinder connector or 2 is you master cylinder connector is rounded of so it slips passed the retainer clip.
