I started following you about 2-3 months ago and at first I was looking for some easy tips and wasn’t ready mentally to do the work. I don’t know for sure if you’re no nonsense approach and easy laid back conversation style videos but I’ve started journaling, laying out my workout clothes each night and exercising 30 minutes plus 8,000+ steps a day and I look at food differently and think about how each meal makes me feel. Wow it’s working! I have 80lbs to lose and for once someone is actually seeped into my brain to get me started ❤️ thank you!!😊

Great advice l have lost 70 pounds l cut out sugar and breads and pasta l have sometime high protein pasta if we go out and have a meal l just don't have the chips/fries just have meat and veggie and salad
70 pounds just by making a few simple choices, wow! That is very good advice and I will take it to heart. I have tried many complicated (and expensive) diets and just wish I could find the thing that will work.

New subscriber. I've started a lot of this as well. Daily exercise with a goal of 30 minutes per day is what I have been doing now for almost 5 months. Otherwise, you are completely correct, I make excuses. Now, it is just what I do. I hired a trainer in October and I woukd go once per week and it would kill me because I wasn't consistent other days. I've been working on eating cleaner, but now I need to work on reducing calorie intake. I also completely agree about doing the workout you are motivated to do. Sometimes I have no motivation to work out, so I pick something I enjoy or most feel like doing. Thank you! These are excellent tips!!

When I was 31 I had gained some weight. I strapped down and commuted and lost the weight in a healthy way. I kept it off for years until Covid. Gained some then. Now I’m 40 and my body seems to just laugh at any of my efforts. All the things I used to do don’t work. The struggle is real these days. I have tried all the things. Been doing weights 1.5 years consistently. Do struggle with eating too much at times. Not daily. It’s odd how your body changes too. Thanks hormones.
Yes hormones play a pretty big role but there are ways to balance them! Do you follow Dr Mary Claire on Instagram, Dr Sara Gottfried, or Dr Mindy Pelz? They have so much excellent information about hormones! I am currently working on balancing out my cortisol and sex hormones myself so I understand! Know that you are doing a great job!! Oh yes! I am going threw this exact thing. I’m going to be 50 in October and ever since I turned 49 I have been struggling, I have gained almost 20 lbs and it just won’t come off, and I actually stared to exercise and still no change. I have never had a weight problem so this is all new to me 😢

Identifying unhealthy psychology as a result of workouts and diet routine is a major key I think. The fact that you recognized that your Friday morning and Monday morning workouts were training you to think in an unhealthy way (a.k.a. Earn your food, binge eat on the weekends, shame yourself on Monday) is very intuitive. But it really does take that kind of self reflection to get to the root of what is driving you mentally and emotionally. I want to lose weight, get fit and very healthy but also be mentally and emotionally healthy while doing it!
Empower! I'm new here to your channel as well. I feel so helpless about getting healthy. I had a nutritionist tell me she didn't know how to help me. So I've just been diagnosed diabetic, had gestational diabetes 25 tears ago and it runs in my family. Have had hereditary high cholesterol and triglycerides for almost 25 years. New GP did my labs and found my cholesterol went from 3.7 to 5.2 in two months. Having a stress test and echocardiogram this Thursday to see if i have any blockage. My mom passed suddenly in 2020 due to clogged arteries. She had to have a stent put in then was told her other arteries were 70 percent blocked, they said she needed to have stents in all but one by one due to high risk health. Within a little over a month they went to do another stent then said she was a candidate for it anymore. All of my mom's arteries had went from 70 percent to almost 100 in a little over a month.😢 She passed away within two weeks.😢 I don't eat well because my allergies are so bad, that I have oral allergy syndrome from the cross pollination in allergic to fruits and veggies. So this causes inflammation when i do eat them. Cant do allergy shots they made me worse. My 24 year old son has the same. I had hormonal breast cancer and a bilateral mastectomy in January 2023. I should be eating alot of protein and do not. I'm alergic to most nuts except cashews although i read if you have latex allergy cashews really aren't good for you. I love pumpkin seeds but they raise your estrogen. Cancer didn't run in my family. I have Lymphedema since the mastectomy. I eat eggs for protein, now my cholesterol so high im afraid to. I cant find a healthy protein shake that isn't high in sugar and isnt sweetened with stevia. I can't do stevia. Also have heartburn, probably due to eating the foods that are causing inflammation like vegetables I'm allergic to. If i eat garlic it feels like lava in my chest and throat. Same with pepper. I'm so allergic to mint that even smelling it will close my airway. When you're allergic to mint you're allergic to Italian spices also. I have to run away when I get near someone with mint gum. Allergic to tea tree, cinnamon those will close my airway. Tea tree is in alot of mens cologne and other products. So i cant work due to my allergies, i can't tell everyone no mint, no cologne, no hair products, no perfume, bo Gain Detergent. So I have no social life. I go to doctors and home. Just dont know what to eat or do! Please any help is greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long long story.

Second thing if it was me instead of focusing on all the things I can't eat or can't do I would hyper focus on all the good things that I CAN eat and the things that I CAN do. When we put our focus on the good it brings more good into our lives. Eggs are so great and if you can eat them but are worried about cholesterol maybe eat one whole egg and use egg whites to bump up your protein w/o the cholesterol. Have you found any fruits or vegetables that you can eat? Does it help if you wash them? Cook them? Also, have you ever done any gut testing? Two years ago after a surgery I had gained 20 lbs,I promised myself I would lose weight and become active and lose that extra weight. I lost 24 lbs and have maintained… I agree with you, everyone has to find the way to be able to make it a lifestyle. I get up every morning now at 5:30 am and I am out walking at 6:30 and walk at least 6k on that walk… and then a lot more the rest of the day. I eat plant based now, and stoped all processed foods. I need to eat this way because I just can’t eat meat, dairy, fish… but I make sure I get my protein and healthy fats , fruits and veggies I never thought at 70 I could lose the weight and tone up, I am thrilled, and feel wonderful

Can you please give me some advice? I’m a female age 29. . Once after I had my son a couple years ago I lost 70 lbs but then I gained almost half of it back. So now I’m 145.2 lbs . I lift 4/5 times a week. Legs/ back/ glutes/shoulders/ legs . I get about 13,000 steps a day. I hit 120-130g of protein a day. I’ve Been lifting for about 5 years now. . I have been in a deficit of an average of 600 cals- For almost 4 weeks now. I’ve lost literally 0 pounds. The scale has stayed the same. Anyway- I feel like I’m literally doing every single thing right. I’m working hard. And the scale won’t go down. I barely notice a difference in my body..
Hello beautiful!! First I want to say YOU'RE DOING A FANTASTIC JOB!!! And I see you. It is SO frustrating to be doing everything right and not see the scale move. First I would say did you take any progress pictures? Pictures/videos are a better way to track progress in my opinion because if you are lifting weights like that you could be putting on muscle and that's what you might be seeing on the scale. Second, are you following a program for lifting weights that focuses on progressive overload? Maybe it's time to switch up your program? Third and most likely... how are your cortisol levels? Are you sleeping really well all night long? Do you feel anxious throughout the day? For me personally last year my cortisol went through the roof and despite eating and moving in the same way my body continued to put ON weight... I have had to incorporate practices to help reduce my cortisol and I take supplements. I have a video on my morning routine to help reduce cortisol. I'll share that here: ua-cam.com/video/lzgFsXkUJ0Y/v-deo.html. It shares my symptoms that I was experiencing and it might be helpful. One more thought, I know that you are eating 120-130g of protein. What is your daily calorie intake? What was your starting calorie intake? Also, here's what I know to be true no matter what. Consistency is what will get you to where you want to be long term. I would say do you love lifting weights the way you do? Are you enjoying your life and how you are eating? Because living a life that you LOVE is the goal and if you find a way to incorporate healthy movement and healthy recipes that you love and enjoy you will want to do them long term. Which will get you to where you want to be. But know that you're doing a great job!

its also important to find exercise you enjoy. I go to curve gym, special machines that help you lift weights, and it only takes 30 minutes which I do four times a week, and do aerobics at home. lifting weights at other gyms is boring and not sustainable for me.

I hear ya!!! My biggest suggestion is when you ARE motivated use that motivation to start your small daily healthy habits and then just keep doing them!! You've got this!! I believe in you!!! 🩷
How did you get yourself to watch what you eat/drink on the weekend? I STRUGGLE with this!! I do pretty good, but then my husband who also struggles, brings me down with him. I do this over and over again. I have no wheelpower, and neither does he.
Its a mindset thing. First I had to ask myself "why do I falter on the weekends?" and be really honest with myself. For me personally I had 2 things: 1 I used to drink more than I admitted to myself and that lead to me eating things that didn't align with my goals and didn't make me feel good. 2 - was an old belief that "I was missing out on something" if my husband was eating cookies or dessert. I did a few things. 1 - I did a 30-day elimination diet and committed to not eating any sugar or alcohol for 30 days (very eye opening) and I felt great. Then I continued to work on my mindset. I ended up giving up drinking for a long time (now I will enjoy a glass of wine here or there but not often) and I don't really eat sugar any more because it doesnt make me feel good. Something else that helps is not bringing the trigger foods into the house. If BOTH of you don't want to eat them or are trying to stop eating them... stop buying them. Throw the stuff in the house away that you don't want to eat. You've got this!! I believe in you!
So I used to serve/bartend. The amount of side sauces ppl get…I think they forgot they’re loaded with sugar and calories. It’s the little things sometimes.

Those are really great ideas! I have a couple videos like that but will definitely put them on the list of "to film" for fall!! I am not currently fasting. I did fasting most of last year until my cortisol levels were so dangerously high that my doctor told me to stop fasting to reduce excess cortisol spikes. And I just haven't gotten back into it because it hasn't felt good in my body. But I'll definitely be sharing here on UA-cam if I start fasting again!! Are you fasting?
@@charlenetown1111 oh that’s so scary about the cortisol! I believe you mentioned doing HIIT several times a week. I’ve heard that high-impact activity such as HIIT and running more than 2-3 times per week can increase cortisol levels. I don’t know if that’s true or not. No I don’t fast. I wish I could, but I am always so hungry that I end up eating too much and it seems to negate the benefits. Also, thank you so much for mentioning Sydney Cummings. I’ve been feeling lost with how to lift weights, but that is something I’ve been wanting to do regularly and not just with one-off videos that I have to piece together 😂. She seems like a real woman and a great role model. I forget if it’s over 30 that we start to lose muscle mass so that’s when we really have to add the protein and lift weights. I know what you mean about the gym bro’a lifting weights 😂. But when I used to go to the gym they started having classes like Body Pump that allowed people to learn to lift weights set to music. But I’m like you; I prefer the privacy and convenience of my home.

@@rnguyen2516 Yes HIIT and running can increase cortisol! I typically only do true HIIT or cardio every once and a while when my body is really craving it! I used to do it every day... not anymore! And YES! At age 30 we women start to lose muscle and bone density. So increasing muscle mass will help keep your bones strong and healthy!! I think you're doing a great job! I would say instead of fasting I would focus on increasing your protein and make sure that you are hitting at least 30 grams of protein at every meal! See how your body feels! And yes! Sydney has month long programs and I absolutely love them! They all focus on something different or build on each other! Or check out her 3 month Summertime Fine programs! They are fantastic!!!

I started following you about 2-3 months ago and at first I was looking for some easy tips and wasn’t ready mentally to do the work. I don’t know for sure if you’re no nonsense approach and easy laid back conversation style videos but I’ve started journaling, laying out my workout clothes each night and exercising 30 minutes plus 8,000+ steps a day and I look at food differently and think about how each meal makes me feel. Wow it’s working! I have 80lbs to lose and for once someone is actually seeped into my brain to get me started ❤️ thank you!!😊

Great advice l have lost 70 pounds l cut out sugar and breads and pasta l have sometime high protein pasta if we go out and have a meal l just don't have the chips/fries just have meat and veggie and salad
70 pounds just by making a few simple choices, wow! That is very good advice and I will take it to heart. I have tried many complicated (and expensive) diets and just wish I could find the thing that will work.

New subscriber. I've started a lot of this as well. Daily exercise with a goal of 30 minutes per day is what I have been doing now for almost 5 months. Otherwise, you are completely correct, I make excuses. Now, it is just what I do. I hired a trainer in October and I woukd go once per week and it would kill me because I wasn't consistent other days.
I've been working on eating cleaner, but now I need to work on reducing calorie intake.
I also completely agree about doing the workout you are motivated to do. Sometimes I have no motivation to work out, so I pick something I enjoy or most feel like doing.

When I was 31 I had gained some weight. I strapped down and commuted and lost the weight in a healthy way. I kept it off for years until Covid. Gained some then. Now I’m 40 and my body seems to just laugh at any of my efforts. All the things I used to do don’t work. The struggle is real these days. I have tried all the things. Been doing weights 1.5 years consistently. Do struggle with eating too much at times. Not daily. It’s odd how your body changes too. Thanks hormones.
Yes hormones play a pretty big role but there are ways to balance them! Do you follow Dr Mary Claire on Instagram, Dr Sara Gottfried, or Dr Mindy Pelz? They have so much excellent information about hormones! I am currently working on balancing out my cortisol and sex hormones myself so I understand! Know that you are doing a great job!! Oh yes! I am going threw this exact thing. I’m going to be 50 in October and ever since I turned 49 I have been struggling, I have gained almost 20 lbs and it just won’t come off, and I actually stared to exercise and still no change. I have never had a weight problem so this is all new to me 😢

Identifying unhealthy psychology as a result of workouts and diet routine is a major key I think. The fact that you recognized that your Friday morning and Monday morning workouts were training you to think in an unhealthy way (a.k.a. Earn your food, binge eat on the weekends, shame yourself on Monday) is very intuitive. But it really does take that kind of self reflection to get to the root of what is driving you mentally and emotionally. I want to lose weight, get fit and very healthy but also be mentally and emotionally healthy while doing it!

I feel so helpless about getting healthy.
I had a nutritionist tell me she didn't know how to help me.
So I've just been diagnosed diabetic, had gestational diabetes 25 tears ago and it runs in my family.
Have had hereditary high cholesterol and triglycerides for almost 25 years.
New GP did my labs and found my cholesterol went from 3.7 to 5.2 in two months.
Having a stress test and echocardiogram this Thursday to see if i have any blockage.
My mom passed suddenly in 2020 due to clogged arteries.
She had to have a stent put in then was told her other arteries were 70 percent blocked, they said she needed to have stents in all but one by one due to high risk health.
Within a little over a month they went to do another stent then said she was a candidate for it anymore.
All of my mom's arteries had went from 70 percent to almost 100 in a little over a month.😢
She passed away within two weeks.😢
I don't eat well because my allergies are so bad, that I have oral allergy syndrome from the cross pollination in allergic to fruits and veggies.
So this causes inflammation when i do eat them.
Cant do allergy shots they made me worse.
My 24 year old son has the same.
I had hormonal breast cancer and a bilateral mastectomy in January 2023.
I should be eating alot of protein and do not.
I'm alergic to most nuts except cashews although i read if you have latex allergy cashews really aren't good for you.
I love pumpkin seeds but they raise your estrogen.
Cancer didn't run in my family.
I have Lymphedema since the mastectomy.
I eat eggs for protein, now my cholesterol so high im afraid to.
I cant find a healthy protein shake that isn't high in sugar and isnt sweetened with stevia.
I can't do stevia.
Also have heartburn, probably due to eating the foods that are causing inflammation like vegetables I'm allergic to.
If i eat garlic it feels like lava in my chest and throat.
Same with pepper.
I'm so allergic to mint that even smelling it will close my airway.
When you're allergic to mint you're allergic to Italian spices also.
I have to run away when I get near someone with mint gum.
Allergic to tea tree, cinnamon those will close my airway.
Tea tree is in alot of mens cologne and other products.
So i cant work due to my allergies, i can't tell everyone no mint, no cologne, no hair products, no perfume, bo Gain Detergent.
So I have no social life.
I go to doctors and home.
Just dont know what to eat or do!
Please any help is greatly appreciated.

First thing, you're doing a great job! Be kind to yourself. Second thing if it was me instead of focusing on all the things I can't eat or can't do I would hyper focus on all the good things that I CAN eat and the things that I CAN do. When we put our focus on the good it brings more good into our lives.
Eggs are so great and if you can eat them but are worried about cholesterol maybe eat one whole egg and use egg whites to bump up your protein w/o the cholesterol.
Have you found any fruits or vegetables that you can eat? Does it help if you wash them? Cook them?
Also, have you ever done any gut testing? To see if you can support your gut take pre/probiotics to help support digestion in your gut?

I agree with you, everyone has to find the way to be able to make it a lifestyle.
I get up every morning now at 5:30 am and I am out walking at 6:30 and walk at least 6k on that walk… and then a lot more the rest of the day.
I eat plant based now, and stoped all processed foods. I need to eat this way because I just can’t eat meat, dairy, fish… but I make sure I get my protein and healthy fats , fruits and veggies
I never thought at 70 I could lose the weight and tone up, I am thrilled, and feel wonderful

I’m a female age 29. .
Once after I had my son a couple years ago I lost 70 lbs but then I gained almost half of it back.
So now I’m 145.2 lbs .
I lift 4/5 times a week. Legs/ back/ glutes/shoulders/ legs . I get about 13,000 steps a day. I hit 120-130g of protein a day. I’ve Been lifting for about 5 years now. .
I have been in a deficit of an average of 600 cals- For almost 4 weeks now. I’ve lost literally 0 pounds. The scale has stayed the same.
Anyway- I feel like I’m literally doing every single thing right. I’m working hard. And the scale won’t go down. I barely notice a difference in my body..
Hello beautiful!! First I want to say YOU'RE DOING A FANTASTIC JOB!!! And I see you. It is SO frustrating to be doing everything right and not see the scale move.
First I would say did you take any progress pictures? Pictures/videos are a better way to track progress in my opinion because if you are lifting weights like that you could be putting on muscle and that's what you might be seeing on the scale.
Second, are you following a program for lifting weights that focuses on progressive overload? Maybe it's time to switch up your program?
Third and most likely... how are your cortisol levels? Are you sleeping really well all night long? Do you feel anxious throughout the day? For me personally last year my cortisol went through the roof and despite eating and moving in the same way my body continued to put ON weight... I have had to incorporate practices to help reduce my cortisol and I take supplements. I have a video on my morning routine to help reduce cortisol. I'll share that here: ua-cam.com/video/lzgFsXkUJ0Y/v-deo.html. It shares my symptoms that I was experiencing and it might be helpful.
One more thought, I know that you are eating 120-130g of protein. What is your daily calorie intake? What was your starting calorie intake?
Also, here's what I know to be true no matter what. Consistency is what will get you to where you want to be long term. I would say do you love lifting weights the way you do? Are you enjoying your life and how you are eating? Because living a life that you LOVE is the goal and if you find a way to incorporate healthy movement and healthy recipes that you love and enjoy you will want to do them long term. Which will get you to where you want to be.
But know that you're doing a great job!
I think we might be living parallel weight loss lives lol... Loved the tips. Going to check out the book and Sydney. The going is super slow for me, but hoping for long term sustainable results this go around.

I have so many smoothie recipes on this channel but my go-to is:
Vanilla Greens Smoothie
1 c unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 large handful of mixed greens
4 TBSP Tropeaka Lean Vanilla Protein (35g of protien)
1/2 froxzen banana
1 cup ice
1 TBSP hemp seeds
1 TBSP chia seeds
Blend it up and enjoy!

its also important to find exercise you enjoy. I go to curve gym, special machines that help you lift weights, and it only takes 30 minutes which I do four times a week, and do aerobics at home. lifting weights at other gyms is boring and not sustainable for me.

My hormones started getting out of whack last year and I am STILL fighting to get answers and figure out why I'm putting on weight for no reason and holding onto weight. So frustrating! I'm actually going to be doing a Dutch test to follow my hormones for an entire month to see what's going on. I was thinking about sharing that with the channel. Would that be interesting to you? @@charlenetown1111 that would be extremely interesting! Anything to help women with all their changes as we know our bodies are completely different than mens' chemically. And unfortunately most clinical tests are done on males. I've never heard of the Dutch testing. Gonna have to look that up, but will be looking forward to seeing your video on it. Thank you!

For me, best tip was to spend time doing weight training which i love and not necessarily kill myself with cardio, which i do not love.
Absolutely!!! Do what you love and you'll stick to in longer because you actually enjoy doing it!!! You're doing a great job!
Currently workings out...while on vacation!! I have like, 25lbs to lose though. 41 y.o., and just found out I'm starting menopause early 😕 Losing weight is super hard now.
I'm so proud of you! I love moving my body on vacation! I always feel better when I do!! Yes hormone changes are difficult (currently dealing with them myself) But If you start approaching your healthy lifestyle as a lifestyle and show up for your workouts because you love them and you choose foods because you want to fuel your body and take care of her you will be able to stay curious and make the changes necessary to lose the weight! I believe in you! You're doing a great job!!

How did you get yourself to watch what you eat/drink on the weekend? I STRUGGLE with this!! I do pretty good, but then my husband who also struggles, brings me down with him. I do this over and over again. I have no wheelpower, and neither does he.
Its a mindset thing. First I had to ask myself "why do I falter on the weekends?" and be really honest with myself. For me personally I had 2 things: 1 I used to drink more than I admitted to myself and that lead to me eating things that didn't align with my goals and didn't make me feel good. 2 - was an old belief that "I was missing out on something" if my husband was eating cookies or dessert. I did a few things. 1 - I did a 30-day elimination diet and committed to not eating any sugar or alcohol for 30 days (very eye opening) and I felt great. Then I continued to work on my mindset. I ended up giving up drinking for a long time (now I will enjoy a glass of wine here or there but not often) and I don't really eat sugar any more because it doesnt make me feel good. Something else that helps is not bringing the trigger foods into the house. If BOTH of you don't want to eat them or are trying to stop eating them... stop buying them. Throw the stuff in the house away that you don't want to eat. You've got this!! I believe in you!
So I used to serve/bartend. The amount of side sauces ppl get…I think they forgot they’re loaded with sugar and calories. It’s the little things sometimes.

I would love to know how you manage summer with children, holidays and vacations. Last year I started getting really healthy once the kids went back to school, but the holidays and summers really did me in. Also, I’d love to know if you fast. Thank you!
Those are really great ideas! I have a couple videos like that but will definitely put them on the list of "to film" for fall!! I am not currently fasting. I did fasting most of last year until my cortisol levels were so dangerously high that my doctor told me to stop fasting to reduce excess cortisol spikes. And I just haven't gotten back into it because it hasn't felt good in my body. But I'll definitely be sharing here on UA-cam if I start fasting again!! Are you fasting?
@@charlenetown1111 oh that’s so scary about the cortisol! I believe you mentioned doing HIIT several times a week. I’ve heard that high-impact activity such as HIIT and running more than 2-3 times per week can increase cortisol levels. I don’t know if that’s true or not. No I don’t fast. I wish I could, but I am always so hungry that I end up eating too much and it seems to negate the benefits. Also, thank you so much for mentioning Sydney Cummings. I’ve been feeling lost with how to lift weights, but that is something I’ve been wanting to do regularly and not just with one-off videos that I have to piece together 😂. She seems like a real woman and a great role model. I forget if it’s over 30 that we start to lose muscle mass so that’s when we really have to add the protein and lift weights. I know what you mean about the gym bro’a lifting weights 😂. But when I used to go to the gym they started having classes like Body Pump that allowed people to learn to lift weights set to music. But I’m like you; I prefer the privacy and convenience of my home.
Also, if you have an Instagram you should go follow me over there! I do a lot more day-to-day content on my stories where I share my daily workouts and during the summer most of them include my daughter! It might be helpful!!
@@rnguyen2516 Yes HIIT and running can increase cortisol! I typically only do true HIIT or cardio every once and a while when my body is really craving it! I used to do it every day... not anymore! And YES! At age 30 we women start to lose muscle and bone density. So increasing muscle mass will help keep your bones strong and healthy!! I think you're doing a great job! I would say instead of fasting I would focus on increasing your protein and make sure that you are hitting at least 30 grams of protein at every meal! See how your body feels! And yes! Sydney has month long programs and I absolutely love them! They all focus on something different or build on each other! Or check out her 3 month Summertime Fine programs! They are fantastic!!!
