      Jonathanflores Flores Miami came back cause a rookie with little no no experience in the system came in. Jimmy was lighting it up against both teams. Cardinals are no pushovers like Miami. It is obvious. Brady is not starting, the Pats manage to win more than 10 games. Rodgers goes down, the Packers only win a max of 1 game, and maybe tie a game against bum teams. See 2010 and 2013 for examples. Refute that please. Curious

      It proves nothing of the sort actually. You seem to discount the fact that Jimmy G (And Matt Cassel for that matter) spent all of their time prior to stepping on the field watching and learning from Tom Brady (The Greatest QB Of All Time). Maybe if Rodger's backups could actually learn anything from him the packers wouldn't be such absolute garbage without him. Refute that please. Curious.

    • @24uber
      @24uber 8 років тому

      +Griefer king Why is that Aaron Rodgers fault? What are the backups @ Patriots truly learning from Tom? That's more of a coaching standpoint you're coming from. Mike Lombardi answered or 'refuted' your question perfectly.

    • @unholydiver1095
      @unholydiver1095 8 років тому +2

      Griefer king So why hasn't Matt Cassel used "watching Brady" after he left the Pats. When he left the Pats, he didn't play nearly as good, averaging less than 3,000 yards. He is not even good enough to be a reliable backup. They were great cause they learned the system, not caused they watched Brady. Watching someone doesn't do shit. Why don't you tell me that Brady watched Bledsoe? Cause that is not how it works. Cute try though trying to refute

    Seeing this now with LaFleur changing the offense, and Lombardi's statements were spot on. We need to stop treating football players like basketball players. A QB is the most important position, but it is also literally the most dependent position in all of sports. They aren't pitchers, they rely on everyone else from their coaches to their offense, to their defense. QBs get too much credit and too much blame

    Lombardi just made Skip feel so stupid. He clearly knows way more about the game of football than Skip. Skip just makes super dramatic statements about players to get viewership and publicity. And Lombardi is right on the nose about this. Tom Brady is a legend, and probably the best QB of all time. Aaron Rodgers is also amazing. The biggest reason Brady has had so much more success than Rodgers is that the Patriots system is sooo much better than the Packers. The Packers play-calling is horrible and relies way too heavily on Rodgers making big plays. The Patriots doesn't rely nearly as much on Brady, and they instead focus on attacking specific teams. But Brady still makes it much better because he is an amazing QB.

    If Aaron Rodgers is overrated, then isn't Tom Brady even more overrated? How is it that Jimmy G has managed to look like the best QB in the league? How is that the only time Matt Cassel proved to be an effective QB in the NFL, he was playing for the Patriots? Same thing for Bledsoe. How is it that Jimmy G is having all this success without Gronkowski? If Rodgers is overrated, then Brady is nothing more than a system QB.
    It's hard to imagine any other QB apart from Rodgers throwing for 45 TD's and 6 interceptions in a season.

      Brady had an incredible (i forgot the exact number against the seahwaks in the 4th in his last superbowl. Before that he came back from down 14 twice against the ravens in the afc chip game. Scrambling and all (not fast but enough). Bottom line is this New England does run a great system but this was created with Brady. Belichick didnt do this on the browns or with Bledsoe, but with Brady and then after. Y'all caught with Rodgers because of his physical attributes and they are good but if they don't come through in the biggest moments then it means nothing. Brady is greatest in the toughest moments and earns his way to the toughest moments year after year. Different receivers, with and with out deep threats. with and without running games. Craziest of all he still building his legacy. Brady the GOAT

      You do realize that Jimmy G and Matt Cassel were learning directly from Tom Brady every single day before they stepped foot on the field, right? I can make the same argument about Tom Brady's greatness. Look at what happened when Matt Cassel stopped having direct contact and practice time watching and talking with Tom Brady every day. Your argument is dead. Take the L and move on.

    • @sheehabzaman7929
      @sheehabzaman7929 8 років тому +5

      Please explain to me how Rodgers is better? Obviously Bill Belichick builds a good team, and Garoppolo was drafted in the 2nd round. But no way in hell could Jimmy G or Cassell do what Brady does in the playoffs every year. Truth is, you don't want to look at facts. Cassell was surrounded by a team that went 18-1 the previous year, and there was a 7 game drop off. Garoppolo was a potential heir to Brady, and had months to prepare, and has learned the playbook for 3 years. Belichick is a defensive minded coach, who knows how to coach and prepare his players. But he has no "system" which makes players look like HOF QB's. The patriots run the most complex offense in the league, with the QBs and receivers being able to dissect coverage on the go and adjust their routes accordingly. If Brady was a system qb, then he would be told who to throw to pre-snap and rack up yards like college QBs. Rodgers on the other hand runs one of the most simple offenses in the league and still holds the ball. Granted, his coaches aren't as creative as most elite coaches, but no way in hell is Rodgers better than Brady. Stop being delusional and take the L.

    Because Brady has been winning and the Pats have been involved in some crazy super bowls I haven’t paid much attention to the Brady vs Rodgers stuff. Most pats fans I believe kind of let the media put Rogers over Brady as the best QB “right now” but checking back into the conversation I now realize how absolutely delusional the media and packers fans are about this dude! So much so that he’s in the goat conversation??? The GOAT?? Really? Because he makes pretty long throws and has a good arm? I’m shocked... let me break this down...
    Brady is better at the quarterback position than Rodgers. I don’t care how “talented” he is. Cam Newton is more “talented” than Rodgers! There are 20+ QBs more talented than Brady in the league right now! Talent is meaningless unless you execute! Brady is the common denominator of the success of the patriots, not even bellichek is! He sucked with the browns and sucked with the pats before Brady. Brady is the patriots system! Brady would’ve done better in Green Bay than Rodgers! Don’t give me stats... this isn’t baseball, stats simply don’t say very much in this sport, way way way too many unmeasured variables. Rodgers can’t win on the road, can’t come back when down in the 4th quarter, won one Super Bowl with favres team because he isn’t a leader, blames everyone but himself, routinely leads the league in throwaways, has a great o line but gets sacked like crazy because he runs around and can’t make quick reads and simply cannot make check down throws. His team sucks? Oh wait he’s had a dynamic running game for his whole career. Bad defense? Third in sacks right now. No receivers? Ok... name me one serious playmaker Brady has had over his 18 year career other than moss for one year and Gronk... he set the record for most number of diff receivers thrown to, and still won at least 11 games every year except is second year (which he won 9). Brady has had much worse teams, and won. Besides isn’t that what “goats” do?? Win anyway??? If he is the goat he can’t ever even have ONE losing season.
    He’s athletic... super, means nothing. Win some games, he’s the goat of nothing and it is a TOTAL FORCED NARRATIVE by the media that he is even in that conversation because long term he will not and should not be remembered like Brady, or even like manning. And packers fans are eating it up... and so is Rodgers and it’s gonna be bad for your organization when he doesn’t get any blame at all. Manning is gone so they have to compare Brady to someone and I guess they chose this dude because he’s had some cool Hail Marys... just let it go the conversation has BEEN OVER. This is SILLY!

    1-4 in conference championship games, 1-8 when trailing in halftime in the playoffs, 0-42 when trailing to a super team by more than a point in the playoffs, only 2 game winning drives in the P.O. which was against the Cowboys (Both rigged btw for him to win) Especially the Dez Bryant catch, and 17 NFL Comebacks in history which is even less than Joe Flacco. Aaron had a top 5 WR core and a top 10 defensive team during his tenure with the Packers, yet he blew a 16-0 to the Seahawks and got outplayed by Kaepernick twice. One of the very rare times I actually agreed with Skip; He is ridiculously overrated imo.

    Rodgers throws better than any quarterback you compare him to. That's a fact just off numbers,so no he's not overrated. The problem is GB doesn't have a great defense and the two times they did they won a Super Bowl and went to the NFC championship game. He's not gonna throw 5 TD's every game the times he has a bad game, the defense isn't there to help. He's better than Brady. And he's the best QB in the league.

    Rodgers is following a similar career arc to Brett Favre. They started out as backups, worked their way up to the starting spot, won a Super Bowl their sixth year in the league at age 27, and then got complacent and full of themselves. After their Super Bowl wins, they continued to put up great passing numbers, but never reached the same level of great play and rested on their laurels. Because they won Super Bowls so early in their careers, I think they both took it for granted that they would win it all again, and didn't respect or appreciate how hard it is simply get to a SB, let alone win one.

  • @nilsnelson23

    Lombardi is absolutely right on this one. Green Bay is running Isolation route concepts even though None of the Receivers is beating his man consistently. There are no bunch Formations or pre snap motions or pick Plays that are designed to get someone open. In Addition to that Green Bay is playing out of a 11 personnel around 75% over the last 3 years while the league is around 53%. Mike McCarthy got bailed out in the past by Aaron Rodgers and talented Receivers (do you remember Plays from the past where you thought "man that was an amazing designed Play"). The Green Bay Coaching staff needs an injection of new blood but if the pas is any indication Mike McCarthy will not do that.

    Why does everybody get so bent out of shape about Skip. He doesn't like Rodgers and it's been that way for a while that's his on air persona along with Cowboys and Tebow lover. It was one game he has regressed a tad but McCarthy doesn't run enough. Mike was spot on about the schemes and plays McCarthy runs. I'm not gonna say Brady is a system QB or say Rodgers is overrated because it's the NFL to win MVPs and SBs and constantly get your team to the playoffs you have to be great. It's hard to do this consistently in pro sports, so there is no reason to overreact its just a tv show getting ratings.

  • @Pam-yd8zo

    lets just be honest people, Aaron Rodgers and the packers just lost to a better team last night. just give the Vikings credit for crying out loud. zimmer has changed this team around, and now are not the laughing stock anymore, and instead of everyone making up excuses for Rodgers just tip your hats off to the vikes. they were and have been on the packers hills for a minute now and finally starting last year they have start to make their presence felt, 1st off last year beating them in greenbay, winning the division, making the playoffs, and now beating them again. this game really should have been a blowout but because they couldn't recover a couple of fumbles and hold on to a couple of ints the packers were able to stick around and make this game closer than it really was suppose to be anyway.

    Aaron Rodgers Is The Best Quarterback In The NFL Today

  • @89blockbuster1
    @89blockbuster1 8 років тому +2

    Tom Brady is a great quarterback, of course he is. But he's benefitted by playing under the greatest coach in NFL history; someone who's constantly catered his team to Brady's strengths/weaknesses as a player. Example: At 39 years old, Brady's arm isn't as capable for big plays and deep balls as it once was. So what does Bill Belichick do? He fills the depth chart with shifty slot wideouts, guys who get open quickly on quick slants and out routes. He gets two great TEs, one being the best of all time in my opinion, to dominate the middle of the field as big targets for Tom. It's a super easy offense to thrive in, and while Brady IS great, he does benefit a lot from it.
    Now look at Rodgers. His system doesn't employ a lot of these characteristics. It's designed for big plays, beating coverages, and relying on the talent at the QB and WR positions to drive the ball down the field. When it works (2011-14) it's awe inspiring. But when just one part of that system doesn't work, it suddenly becomes extremely difficult to drive the ball and score. If you watched the pregame on NBC last night, a big topic was Rodgers' ability to improvise during plays. That's great, but when you have to improvise on almost every play, you're going to run into some mistakes regardless of how good you are. I'm sure if Aaron didn't have to do this as much, he wouldn't. But there's a problem somewhere on the offense that's forcing him to constantly wing it during games.
    I'm not trying to give a definitive answer on who the better quarterback is (I say Rodgers but it can go either way), but when you compare two QBs you need to think about the situation they're put in.

    • @cleverclover7
      @cleverclover7 8 років тому +1

      idk, I'm not a Pats fan but I've watched that dude clutch up in playoff and superbowl games too many times to not recognize him as one of the greatest qb's of all time. Today I'd take Rodgers, but both in their prime? Brady.
