Whatever you decide is all up to you. No need to have everything that comes out. I think just collecting films that you enjoy more than volume of items. I used to collect anything I didn't have on Blu-ray and I realized finally I will never see everything enough to make it worthwhile.

Bravo, Tony. I watch your videos for the ASMR, but honestly I’ve found myself worried about how over the top your purchases seem to be. Do you really need every single edition of all of these movies. It’s encouraging to see you realize it yourself and prioritize your own health and financial responsibilities. Happy for you, dude.
I totally understand the decision, can't enjoy movies if you're not around to see them; dealing with a cancer diagnosis myself. I believe I would qualify as a collector but on a limited basis with just over 1, 000 titles, but for the most part keep it to movies that I'll have no trouble viewing 10 or more times. Doesn't always work out that way with blind buys but does help curb the "I need every great movie that's every been released added to my collection now" urge. Keep doing what you do and take care of your health.

I really like the end of the month collection videos - even if the amount is lower - and the what you watched videos. I hope you keep doing those. Maybe do a film recommendation video a couple times a month if you happen to watch a great film you think viewers might not have watched or heard about. Having the names of those films in the title might even bring more subs. Keep up the good work, Tony. I for one never miss a video.

I feel what you are saying Tony. I had FOMO pretty bad the last few years, and it was beginning to affect everything else in my life. It was a struggle, but I forced myself to be OK without buying everything. I discovered that simply by exercising patience, I was able to get a lot of that for a significant discount. Many people buy these films, watch them once, and resell them to try and get some of their money back. Google, and eBay have been great for that. As far as what I would personally like in videos, I would like to see you do a few more in-depth reviews of films that you have seen. The haul videos are great, but sprinkling in reviews would be pretty cool, and interesting. I hope your health issues aren’t too serious, and you’re feeling great.

Disney lost me with the only having 4Ks for the newest steel books this year. I already started collecting bluray so it messes up my collection and is getting so pricey. I don’t blame you for taking a step back and save. Can focus on the releases you truly care about and resonate with you so it’s worth the money and time. Wishing you luck and good health

Tony! First off Merry Xmas! Also I’ve been following you for probably almost a decade. I can totally relate to what you’re saying and kinda adopted those in my life. I’ve had some health issues and had to focus more on that. And learn over time to not worry about every release and learn to buy what I want and enjoy. I do enjoy slipcovers still and I am always in awe of your collection and respect and know it takes a lot behind the scenes to acquire those with hard work etc. I say do what makes you happy while being sensible. Live streams can be fun, and the videos you did on the certain collections you have always been popular. Whatever you decide to do I will still support etc. 👊🏻

As controversial as they may sound, there are more important things than buying everything every week I'm glad you're prioritizing your health, physical and mental. My collection pales in comparison to yours as mine is only a little over 2500 right now but sometimes I feel it's too much as I will never have enough time to watch everything I have. If I stopped buying movies right now and watched 1 movie a day, it would take me over 8 years to watch everything. I hope all realize this is a hobby and or passion and other things like saving for retirement, taking care of our health, and spending time with family are more important With that said, I'm still physical media advocate but do it responsibly Take care Tony!

I’m glad you finally came into the light, I’ve been collecting movies since 2021, and I don’t even have close to yours, but I’ve also been going crazy that year, but as you know been dialing back a lot. Tony, sorry to hear about your health issues. I wish you strength and hope to push you through this health journey. I myself had to slow down about two years ago. It’s a very hard mental game to not succumb to FOMO. Every now and then I fall back into it. Nobody is perfect so you just get back on track. I personally got into buying used and have found some amazing releases for great prices. I also wait for sales, waiting just a month or two after release can save you $5-10 most cases. It all adds up and it honestly makes me feel better knowing I didn’t spend so much. One of the hardest things for me is holding back on buying from boutique labels. Cutting back on that did wonders for me, the blind buys are dangerous lol. I wish you well on this next chapter of collecting! Much love -James

Hope you had nice Christmas! I always say Do What You Enjoy and don't feel like you need to post so much content. I think it gets to a point where you can feel like it becomes a job and takes the fun away from the hobby. As for content going forward, I suggest recommendations/reviews of titles that are not well known. Like you your monthly watch videos. I do the same. I like talking about obscure movies not talked about. I have come across many titles here and Instagram that people post that I do not know about.
I never want it to feel like a job, but I can see where it can become a chore. I appreciate the way you post your content. You post when there is something new to talk about and I always enjour your collection updates. I wish you the best in the upcoming new year.

Some series ideas for you from my brain for your channel. 1-Into The Basement (Reviews) -- Review one title you find interesting and can talk about for around 10 minutes edit together screen shots from the movie being reviewed and score them Top Of The Basement = Excellent to great, Bottom Of The Basement = Average to below average, Basement Blues = I want my money back. 2-Basementbuster (Selling and title play on Blockbuster) -- Gather a hand full of titles and give quick overviews of them and reasons why you plan to sell them out of your basement shrine to moviedom. 3-Lock The Basement Live (Physical media collecting live show) -- Your channel title lends itself to a horror theme and I couldn't resist. A live interview series about your subscribers and the collections they own, one on one interview per show live or pre-taped. See if this idea has legs as I don't see any other channel doing this outside of speaking with other creators already on YT with subscribers. An outside of the box idea. Maybe this will help others get their feet wet extending open your basement door into creating their own content about physical media. You can add your monthly physical media hauls into an end of the month live show as well for extra content and discussion.

Plan on backing-off a lot in 2025, because I got the majority of what I actually wanted throughout this year (and I’m excited about that, because I’m making more room by working through the stuff I hadn’t seen yet, and I’ve made it through stack after stack of stuff in my collection, as a goal for the year!). Feels good to basically be at the end of what I wanted to buy, and now I’m just going to be able to keep saving money lol

Yeah FOMO is a real thing for physical media collectors. What's helped me is selling off movies I know I'm not going to watch again. Getting rid of some old bluray transfers and keeping the latest 4K transfer of the same movie. One video a week isn't going to hurt your channel so take it easy, your health comes first.

For me, I have watched you for quite a while now to get a monthly overview of the majority of physical releases that have been available. Hey Tony, so sorry to hear about your health issue. I had one earlier this year and it can be tough emotionally, physically and psychologically. I hope you are doing better. I have been starting to use the quality vs quantity approach more and not really worrying about if titles have a steelbook or not. I also stick with my favorite genres with mostly horror, scifi and fantasy. I enjoy when you just talk about a movie you like and especially with newer and more obscure titles. Unboxing videos are less important nowadays as can just look up images quick. Happy Holidays and take care.

I'm so sorry about you're health concerns Tony I think you're doing a very good job with you're channel yeah I like to buy a lot of physical media to but I might have to cut back to because I plan on buying a new TV soon because my 65 inch Samsung tv has burn in and those big tv's cost a lot of money. I plan on buying some custom made steel books where I live here in south east Asia when I get the money. Hi Tony sorry to hear about the health issues, hope you get that resolved soon. As a viewer I'm getting burned out on the overwhelming number of unboxing and haul videos out there. I''d really like to see a renewed focus on the films themselves across physical media \ movie youtube. I'd like to hear more about what you've recently watched, and what you thought and why... Help me rediscover or find some new favorites. That's not to say packaging etc isn't important but it's just one piece of the overall product. Same for Instagram why not do more photos just highlighting the titles you're watching with a few notes on your opinion. Good luck! Just a suggestion I had was when you have like multiple steel books that are similar. You could just do one video for them. Example would be all the mission impossible 4K steel books that looked pretty similar. I think you could’ve just done one video instead of six or seven. Same with the Lionsgate Limited Quentin Tarantino 4K steel books coming out next month you could just do one video I think, but up to you! People may not like this suggestion, but to get more views, you could have more of a click bait thumbnail. The thumbnail usually shows what the steel book looks like so sometimes people including me might be like well, I don’t really need to watch the video. I see what it looks like in the thumbnail. Lol. Anyway take care!

I totally understand the decision, can't enjoy movies if you're not around to see them; dealing with a cancer diagnosis myself.
I believe I would qualify as a collector but on a limited basis with just over 1, 000 titles, but for the most part keep it to movies that I'll have no trouble viewing 10 or more times. Doesn't always work out that way with blind buys but does help curb the "I need every great movie that's every been released added to my collection now" urge.
Keep doing what you do and take care of your health.

I really like the end of the month collection videos - even if the amount is lower - and the what you watched videos. I hope you keep doing those. Maybe do a film recommendation video a couple times a month if you happen to watch a great film you think viewers might not have watched or heard about. Having the names of those films in the title might even bring more subs.

I feel what you are saying Tony. I had FOMO pretty bad the last few years, and it was beginning to affect everything else in my life. It was a struggle, but I forced myself to be OK without buying everything. I discovered that simply by exercising patience, I was able to get a lot of that for a significant discount. Many people buy these films, watch them once, and resell them to try and get some of their money back. Google, and eBay have been great for that. As far as what I would personally like in videos, I would like to see you do a few more in-depth reviews of films that you have seen. The haul videos are great, but sprinkling in reviews would be pretty cool, and interesting. I hope your health issues aren’t too serious, and you’re feeling great.

Disney lost me with the only having 4Ks for the newest steel books this year. I already started collecting bluray so it messes up my collection and is getting so pricey. I don’t blame you for taking a step back and save. Can focus on the releases you truly care about and resonate with you so it’s worth the money and time. Wishing you luck and good health

Tony! First off Merry Xmas! Also I’ve been following you for probably almost a decade. I can totally relate to what you’re saying and kinda adopted those in my life. I’ve had some health issues and had to focus more on that. And learn over time to not worry about every release and learn to buy what I want and enjoy. I do enjoy slipcovers still and I am always in awe of your collection and respect and know it takes a lot behind the scenes to acquire those with hard work etc. I say do what makes you happy while being sensible. Live streams can be fun, and the videos you did on the certain collections you have always been popular. Whatever you decide to do I will still support etc. 👊🏻

As controversial as they may sound, there are more important things than buying everything every week
I'm glad you're prioritizing your health, physical and mental.
My collection pales in comparison to yours as mine is only a little over 2500 right now but sometimes I feel it's too much as I will never have enough time to watch everything I have. If I stopped buying movies right now and watched 1 movie a day, it would take me over 8 years to watch everything.
I hope all realize this is a hobby and or passion and other things like saving for retirement, taking care of our health, and spending time with family are more important
With that said, I'm still physical media advocate but do it responsibly

Tony, sorry to hear about your health issues. I wish you strength and hope to push you through this health journey. I myself had to slow down about two years ago. It’s a very hard mental game to not succumb to FOMO. Every now and then I fall back into it. Nobody is perfect so you just get back on track. I personally got into buying used and have found some amazing releases for great prices. I also wait for sales, waiting just a month or two after release can save you $5-10 most cases. It all adds up and it honestly makes me feel better knowing I didn’t spend so much. One of the hardest things for me is holding back on buying from boutique labels. Cutting back on that did wonders for me, the blind buys are dangerous lol. I wish you well on this next chapter of collecting! Much love -James

Hope you had nice Christmas! I always say Do What You Enjoy and don't feel like you need to post so much content. I think it gets to a point where you can feel like it becomes a job and takes the fun away from the hobby. As for content going forward, I suggest recommendations/reviews of titles that are not well known. Like you your monthly watch videos. I do the same. I like talking about obscure movies not talked about. I have come across many titles here and Instagram that people post that I do not know about.
I never want it to feel like a job, but I can see where it can become a chore. I appreciate the way you post your content. You post when there is something new to talk about and I always enjour your collection updates. I wish you the best in the upcoming new year.

Some series ideas for you from my brain for your channel.
1-Into The Basement (Reviews) -- Review one title you find interesting and can talk about for around 10 minutes edit together screen shots from the movie being reviewed and score them Top Of The Basement = Excellent to great, Bottom Of The Basement = Average to below average, Basement Blues = I want my money back.
2-Basementbuster (Selling and title play on Blockbuster) -- Gather a hand full of titles and give quick overviews of them and reasons why you plan to sell them out of your basement shrine to moviedom.
3-Lock The Basement Live (Physical media collecting live show) -- Your channel title lends itself to a horror theme and I couldn't resist. A live interview series about your subscribers and the collections they own, one on one interview per show live or pre-taped. See if this idea has legs as I don't see any other channel doing this outside of speaking with other creators already on YT with subscribers. An outside of the box idea. Maybe this will help others get their feet wet extending open your basement door into creating their own content about physical media. You can add your monthly physical media hauls into an end of the month live show as well for extra content and discussion.

Plan on backing-off a lot in 2025, because I got the majority of what I actually wanted throughout this year (and I’m excited about that, because I’m making more room by working through the stuff I hadn’t seen yet, and I’ve made it through stack after stack of stuff in my collection, as a goal for the year!). Feels good to basically be at the end of what I wanted to buy, and now I’m just going to be able to keep saving money lol

Apple TV 4K quality is also getting insanely good. I wouldn’t be surprised within the next 2-3yrs if their streaming quality catch match or exceed 4K Blu-ray

Yeah FOMO is a real thing for physical media collectors. What's helped me is selling off movies I know I'm not going to watch again. Getting rid of some old bluray transfers and keeping the latest 4K transfer of the same movie. One video a week isn't going to hurt your channel so take it easy, your health comes first.

Hey Tony, so sorry to hear about your health issue. I had one earlier this year and it can be tough emotionally, physically and psychologically. I hope you are doing better. I have been starting to use the quality vs quantity approach more and not really worrying about if titles have a steelbook or not. I also stick with my favorite genres with mostly horror, scifi and fantasy. I enjoy when you just talk about a movie you like and especially with newer and more obscure titles. Unboxing videos are less important nowadays as can just look up images quick. Happy Holidays and take care.

I'm so sorry about you're health concerns Tony I think you're doing a very good job with you're channel yeah I like to buy a lot of physical media to but I might have to cut back to because I plan on buying a new TV soon because my 65 inch Samsung tv has burn in and those big tv's cost a lot of money. Hi Tony sorry to hear about the health issues, hope you get that resolved soon. As a viewer I'm getting burned out on the overwhelming number of unboxing and haul videos out there. I''d really like to see a renewed focus on the films themselves across physical media \ movie youtube.
I'd like to hear more about what you've recently watched, and what you thought and why... Help me rediscover or find some new favorites. That's not to say packaging etc isn't important but it's just one piece of the overall product. Same for Instagram why not do more photos just highlighting the titles you're watching with a few notes on your opinion.

Good luck! Just a suggestion I had was when you have like multiple steel books that are similar. You could just do one video for them. Example would be all the mission impossible 4K steel books that looked pretty similar. I think you could’ve just done one video instead of six or seven. Same with the Lionsgate Limited Quentin Tarantino 4K steel books coming out next month you could just do one video I think, but up to you! People may not like this suggestion, but to get more views, you could have more of a click bait thumbnail. The thumbnail usually shows what the steel book looks like so sometimes people including me might be like well, I don’t really need to watch the video. I see what it looks like in the thumbnail. Lol. Anyway take care!
