So you're the awesome dude behind this. Brother I love the products you make for this community, and am proud of the purchases I have from you in my house. Thank you

This guy is talking about everything I've been saying for a while now about DVD/Blu Ray packaging. I'd love to get this guy to make me a box for music cassettes! Great channel on a great topic! Looks like great work judging by what we can see behind him!
Thank you for sharing this! Back in the day, when TV shows were released on DVD, they were usually given the royal treatment in those fold-out digipaks with tons of beautiful art (e.g. Buffy). Now, they come in flimsy slip cases with an often cracked, cheap case (e.g. Friends on bluray). I hate that I have to downgrade beautiful packaging to get an upgrade in A/V. Thank you for speaking on this issue!
I was pretty amazed at how cheap the Seinfeld box set feels. I have to wonder how it's going to look 5 years from now if I'm constantly getting into it
Hands down my favorite sets were the Lord of the Rings extended boxsets with the statues inside. Those sets were peak physical media. Still to this day you can’t get much better than what WB and Peter Jackson pulled off with those boxsets. I also love the shaped boxsets like the Big Lebowski bowling ball, Phantasm sphere and The King of Queens IPS truck set. Sadly it seems like the better the format gets the worse the packaging gets. Thank you for stepping up for us collectors, not all heroes wear capes.
This is an amazing thing you’re doing! My favorite box set is the one that I just got for Christmas, which is The Neverending Story 4K from imprint/ via vision. That’s a release done right! It proves your point about having to import things and not being sure if you’re gonna get the same quality here in the US but still!
I’ve seen and followed your work on Facebook, and I’m glad you made this video. I got the Seinfeld blu-ray set, and I was appalled by the packaging. I definitely would like to see you do one for that as I’d buy it in a heartbeat.
Great video! I definitely admire what you do as someone who is passionate about movies and collecting them. Seinfeld is in my top 3 favorite shows of all time so I was stoked to have the video quality look so fantastic, but I totally agree about the packaging being very lazy/cheap. I feel SO validated with my thoughts on the Indiana Jones white steelbook boxset now. I hated the design and the packaging when I got it, but it was the best way to actually watch the movies. When they re-released with the actual good art, I did not re-buy, because I felt like it was just a cash grab. I am interested in seeing your store when it launches! P.S. I'd love to see more videos where you just rant about how bad some releases are. That's gold, Jerry, gold!
My favorite of all time is either the Friday the 13th from Shout or the Karate Kid 4K Trilogy. I can't believe we got such beautiful box sets in the 2020s
My favorite boxset that isn’t one of yours? It’s actually the one behind you: The Friday the 13th collection. It has custom art on all sides, it’s one whole piece that captures the entire franchise, and the cases inside can have the original artwork if I choose. That set inspired me to purchase your Halloween boxset, which comes closest to that vibe and the box material and printing exceed the F13th collection. I’m also a fan of the universal classics version of Jurassic Park. The classic art from movie posters is fine but I like the commissioned art better most of the time and it elevates your work to what I enjoy out of boutique labels.
Man I need that Cheers box. 🍻 Cheers is my all time favorite sitcom and the flimsy box we got for that set is shameful. Keep up the great work. The Halloween set I got from you is the centerpiece of my collection 🎃

Definitely not wrong with the quality of the studio boxsets. Thin cardboards for expensive sets is inexcusable. Personally, I haven't bought any of your products, but I've seen my friends do showcasing your boxsets and they look great. I'm glad you're making these cases, as it gives a Collector an option for their collection.
The Terrifier art attack collection from umbrella looks great. It has slipcases for each film and a box along with a 250 pg book. It’s just 90$ for only 3 films.
I have A Nightmare on Elm Street boxset from you I got a few years ago with the Wal-Mart Elm Street blu-ray set. Lol.). Thanks again brother! Keep up the great work👍
The greatest boxset just so happens to belong to the best movies ever. You know you’re thinking what I’m thinking. We can all agree that the DVD boxset of The Lord of the Rings Extended Edition is the GOAT!
I would say evil dead trilogy box set shining and the thing along with those slip covers after you get started hopefully one you can show off the collection behind you especially the superman 50s tv series
Mike, I have an idea for you. So people pay a lot of money to get steelbook wall shelves that are thin and hold them side by side on the wall to display them. Your slipcovers could be displayed the same way and you should make or link up with mfgs of these shelf bars and people will love showing your slipcovers that way!
Im from the UK, and I love your passion for producing these wonderful slipboxes. Would really like to get some of these, but the import fees have been a barrier to that. But i appreciate that that's out of your control. I'm looking forward to your tutorial on making these . I'll check out your website as I've been following you on Facebook and Etsy. yeah, my favorite boxset? There's this guy on etsy called blockbuster boxsets...sold me this amazing Evil Dead Trilogy box w/induvidual hard-slips for each film. Hands down the coolest thing in my collection, sits right next to the Evil Dead remake/Rise boxset which is also incredible. As far as studio boxsets I'd give the nod to my LOTR collection, they have been pretty solid.
That 'Cheers' box you made is pretty damn sweet! Yeah, Paramount didn't go crazy for those boxes, which is a shame considering how popular 'Cheers' is / was.
@@BlockbusterBoxsets Exactly. It's sad that studios don't put any quality into their movie / TV releases. As you said though, hopefully we'll see a turn around in physical media again. Costs for streaming apps just keeps going up, and up, and up! And there's still plenty of movies NOT on their apps! They want you to watch their latest & greatest pieces of crap! Sorry, the 'Clash of the Titans' from 2010 has NOTHING on the 1981 version.
I totally agree with everything you said. These releases need to be special. Very rarely do studios get it and look, even boutique labels struggle to do the best they can. The slipcovers from Shout/Scream or Kino for instance...you have no idea how much damage these editions come in simply from using low grade product for the slipcovers. Releases aren't cheap anymore. Not even close, and we deserve the best. You're doing solid work for collectors. I own the Chucky box you put out, and it's gorgeous. Can't wait to see and buy more in the future and maybe even try to make one myself? That's a little scary, but I'll keep a lookout for that future video to boost the ole confidence. Until then, thanks for all you do and keep doing what you love.
thanks for the support. Yeah even the Halloween scream factory hard shell cases are a mixed bag. no uniformity to the spines...the artwork is not appealing and they stiffed us on the boxset. now that being said...if they hadn't I would have gone out of business years ago. Pizowell put me on the map with his review of that very first Halloween box
Why do these releases need to be special? I’m buying a movie or a TV series, not a piece that belongs in a museum. Just give me the discs in an economical and space-saving package and I’ll be thrilled.
@@BlockbusterBoxsetsNot at all. I just don’t have the same issues with studios and their choices of packaging that you do. My issues are likely the complete opposite of yours. More than one voice needs to be heard here and more than one perspective.
@SumDumGy I agree that there can be more than one perspective. But for many of us who love their collection, we want to give it the special treatment. What's the harm in that.?
New sub here, your work is freakin awesome and absolutely agree. When are you going to re-release those evil dead box sets again? I would absolutely get them all! I’m late to the party!
welcome to the party pal...lol. I need a whole lot more of new customers to be able to bring that back out of the vault. I'm hoping this channel will bring more awareness.
My favourite box set? Hmm...well, one of them has got to be the one Carlotta did for Jacques Rivette's Out 1: Noli Me Tangere, a few years ago. It's long since out of print and monstrously expensive today, but it's a real sturdy beast that will definitely stand the test of time, plus it's got everything a fan of that film could ever possibly wish to have.
100% agree. Honestly I'm getting tired of all the physical media bullsh*t. I've NEVER encountered loose discs to the frequency I do now. These new disc holders are one solid black cheap plastic that don't hold discs down well enough, whereas back in the day we had those clear plastic ones with the center "push" icon that held the discs down so tight it was like the case had a mind of its own and didn't want to let the discs go. I think more UA-camrs need to speak out bc we are now paying double to triple what we used to and getting cheaper more flimsy quality.
I’ll be happy to speak out about this subject. It’ll just be on the opposing side of it. The problem isn’t the cases. The problem is the industry pushing streaming, resulting in a lack of in-store availability and, consequently, a reliance on mail order shipping which isn’t kind to physical media.
Hi. I've been hearing about what you're doing for a bit. And I just came across your ch. I subscribed. I do plan on at some point buying some of your stuff. I don't know when. As I'm sure you're aware, money is an issue for some folks. Anyway, I just wanted to say that. And you asked, "what's your favorite boxset?" My favorite is the Nightmare On Elm Street DVD boxset. Also I remember the Indiana Jones DVD boxset being a good one as well. Thanks for what you're doing for the physical media community and I agree with your rant. 🙂👍👍
Nice to hear your story and see you on youtube as I've bought several slip cases from you over the past couple years. Quality is top notch. My most hated boxset is probably the Burton/Schumacher Batman 4k steelbooks. Granted, they gave us the tin outer box and foam dividers, but the artwork on the box and steelbooks themselves is horrendous. Just that generic city skyline on each case with the bat logo and title of the film. Horrible. If each city sklyline was actually representative of the individual Gothams from each film, now we're talking, but as is... Not a fan. Thankfully, you did remedy that with your boxset. Also looking forward to what else you have in store for Batman 89 with the different artwork you mentioned in another video. As for my favorite boxset, I think it might be the complete series boxset for The Real Ghostbusters cartoon from Time-Life. All these years later, I still look at that set in awe of how great it is. The outer case that looks like the firehouse, those great steelbooks for each season, and a nice booklet that listed each episode and a little synopsis. I haven't even mentioned the special features which were fantastic as well. For years, I'd hoped someone would do the complete series for that show, and Time-Life absolutely knocked it out of the park when they did. Along those same lines, I wouldn't mind seeing you do a double pack box set for Ghostbusters 1 & 2. Also, maybe something for the regular release of the Batman: The Animated Series complete series blu-rays. That's a show with such a great visual aesthetic, I think it deserves a nice box with some nice artwork to house the cases.
I still remember your FB post on that Back to the Future set! Completely relate to desiring more from that Indiana Jones sets, and also a ton of other complete series sets the last few years. At one point I was hunting on EBay for old DVD and Blu-Ray released Collector’s editions for the packaging then and switching the discs. Flintstones, Full House, King of Queens to name a few had amazing well-thought out and constructed boxsets and then their re-releases were garbage. So dumb Seinfeld came like that. Shame. I broke down and got the DVD set in 2020 for like $50. I tend to wait now for those sets to drop to half-price just because I know they’re not worth it. Big Bang Theory has been sitting in my Amazon wanted-cart for like 2 years now. Went from $120 to like $68 and I still can’t get excited 😅 Studios need to wake-up! In the meantime, at least we have Blockbuster Boxsets!
My favourite box sets was the region 1 DVD box set for a nightmare on elm street and the region 1 DVD silver and black box set for the first 4 alien movies!
Started collecting 4K's several years back. I have numerous naked cases, slip cases, and steelbooks (many of which you have done boxes/sets for) as well as cheap boxes like the Godfather trilogy, Indiana Jones 4-film collection, Lord of the Rings trilogy, Back to the Future trilogy, etc., some of which you mentioned. Btw, I only found out about you because Chase over at AVA Pop Culture briefly mentioned you in his recent video "The BEST 4k BLURAY Boutiques of 2024" showing the Killer Klowns slip box (~44min in), which btw I want. Would like to ask you a few questions if I may: - Will you be offering any discounts on large and/or combo purchases (e.g. Indiana Jone 5 movie set + outer box)? - Will you be offering free shipping on purchases over a certain amount? - I will be desiring your slip box filler inserts for my naked cases. Will I have to pay for another order (plus shipping) later to get those? Really looking forward to tomorrow's launch and wishing you the greatest success in the coming year(s)....got that bell notification on :).
Everyone in business is looking to cost cutting. It was bad before the Pandemic . Then the backlog that followed these companies took advantage to be as cheap as possible. Obviously no Quality control 🙄
I was so mad with the dawnsons creek Millcreek boxset. Why on earth did they put the disc's in a paper sleeve? Most of the disc's were strached and I bought it brand new. No wonder it was so cheap. I don't think companies care anymore about packaging since everything is on digital and streaming.
@TheBeardedIrishman79 my Halloween boxset will return in February. If you don't want the boxset I will have all 13 slip boxes available seperately for purchase Jan 1st
I think if you expand into TV series box sets, you'll need to hire a crew to help out because there's a LOT of mediocrity there. You'll get a ton of business for sure! Start with the I Love Lucy complete series Blu-ray set. Those fat packs are horrible and the worst kind to use for complete series. It's like the major studios are incapable of coming up with good design ideas. BTW, I'd love an Elm Street collection set but there's a rumor they're going to be releasing individuals in addition to a box set. Can't use a box set if they're just coming out with a single collection so I'm on a wait and see approach for this one. Unless, of course, you plan on making individual art sleeves and sell those haha
You wanna talk about amazing physical media? That house 4k leather and hardwood mediabook set? Top tier imo but yes I agree a lot of physical media is crazy lazy
I’m disappointed WB doesn’t update their digital codes. I love collecting but when I’m on the go I want to watch the digital version. That’s the whole purpose of it. Blade Runner 2049, even The Batman, no longer are packaged like that. It’s bs.
Hi, I am the director of EverythingBlu and have officially designed the artwork and created the boxsets and slips for many titles, so I totally agree with you.
that's sucks. I'll tell you who really dropped the ball on packaging was Arrow with that chucky boxset they put out. they had all kinds of problems with the packaging and the artwork was awful.
Another box set that looked cheap was the James bond collection bluray box set just a white box with black silhouettes of the 6 bond actors in black on the front!
Did you just complain about a studio release and show, instead, the replacement you made? That doesn’t do anything to illustrate the point you want to make, friend. Speaking of which, as a fellow collector, I think I disagree with everything you’ve said here. I’m perfectly fine with the simplicity of the Seinfeld 4K boxset. I don’t want to be needlessly paying more for “bells and whistles,” especially when costs are a factor that help drive down physical media sales. I reject steelbooks pretty much outright. I think they’re sad, commonplace, lazy, too easily damaged, and often just gimmick, and a manipulation tool by the studios to drive up the cost of their releases with exclusives. Why does an outer case being “rigid” matter so much to you? Space matters to me, enough so that I remove my movies from these cases to fit more on my shelves. The cases then go into storage. Being rigid would just be a further waste of my money. Rigid costs more than thin. Hell, I’m buying movies here, not packaging; I don’t even *need* or want an outer case. *Please* give me all my movies in a franchise in a single Amaray case. Please! Space saving, yes! Cost effective, yes! Discs are going to pop out of single cases just as easily as multi cases. That’s happening because we’re forced to mail-order or media now and shipping isn’t kind. We aren’t able to go to stores and pick these things up off a shelf where they’ve been handled more gently, picking and choosing what may be a better option should a disc be loose or a slipcover buggered. With all respect this video is nothing more than a mix of whiny, self-entitled collector elitism and shameless self promotion. Its mentalities like this that remove myself from the collector’s community. I gave you nine minutes. I can’t imagine what another 20 would be like.
These flimsy cardboard boxes some Blu-ray sets that they put in big DVD cases I am so sick of this bullshit these companies are so greedy they spend all this time putting TV shows and movies on Blu-ray an 4K and they give you the worst packaging and if you get good packaging from arrow or vinegar syndrome they charge you out the ass. Bullshit

Costs for streaming apps just keeps going up, and up, and up! And there's still plenty of movies NOT on their apps! They want you to watch their latest & greatest pieces of crap! Sorry, the 'Clash of the Titans' from 2010 has NOTHING on the 1981 version.
Looking forward to the elm street set.
@SumDumGy seems like things are going great for you then. Rock on
@@BlockbusterBoxsetsNot at all.
I have the lord of the rings/hobbit big box set, love that one and then the OG Nightmare on Elm Street box set on DVD
very nice!
The Arrow Empire Of Screams box set is one of the best in the last five years. 😉👍
My favourite box set? Hmm...well, one of them has got to be the one Carlotta did for Jacques Rivette's Out 1: Noli Me Tangere, a few years ago.
It's long since out of print and monstrously expensive today, but it's a real sturdy beast that will definitely stand the test of time, plus it's got
everything a fan of that film could ever possibly wish to have.
And that’s why we all gravitate towards you like moths to a flame 😂 we know this is true but know nothing is going to change. You are our only hope 🙌🏻
I'm hearing the alien from Galaxy Quest...you...are...our...last...hope..lol. I'm trying my best.
I need a sturdy Seinfeld box, my paper box got dinged up pretty good too 🤦♂️
That's a show with such a great visual aesthetic, I think it deserves a nice box with some nice artwork to house the cases.
yeah that batman steelbook boxset they put out sucked. I think I did the franchise proper.
I pulled the trigger on big bang late last year when it was on sale. $68 is super cheap.
My favourite box sets was the region 1 DVD box set for a nightmare on elm street and the region 1 DVD silver and black box set for the first 4 alien movies!
What is that rocky behind you next to Halloween. It looks brilliant
@@MrUnterward that is my upcoming boxset that will be released in March
Would like to ask you a few questions if I may:
- Will you be offering any discounts on large and/or combo purchases (e.g.
The old nightmare on Elm street dvd boxset with the movies in dvd snapper cases wasn't bad
I never liked the snapper cases. Just wasn't my jam. that boxset though was sexy
@the_fd_180 Well, I care, and you will always get my best effort.
Would love a Graham Humphreys a nightmare on elm street slip
It really sucks that the Seinfeld box set looks that flimsy. For such an amazing show it just looks like the packaging was an afterthought.
Yeah that Rambo steel book box set is really expensive now I guess it's out of print and that's why it's so expensive
The exorcist Bible box set and rollerball set that I got overseas are really good.
Are you going to make steelbooks?
@@KevinKrueger86 no. There are a lot of folks that already do that
Are u still selling the Indiana Jones complete boxset that you made. I saw it on Facebook without a price
@aarongilmore1254 yes it will be on the website jan, 1st
Imagine if 8k comes out however I’m still blu
One thing I hate is if you want special features AND better cases you have to buy the regular AND the steels
We Need another Halloween set release…..
@TheBeardedIrishman79 my Halloween boxset will return in February. If you don't want the boxset I will have all 13 slip boxes available seperately for purchase Jan 1st
@ I definitely want the whole set up I missed your last ones thanks!!!
I wish the complete series sets of the Star Trek shows had better packaging because those giant clamshell cases are terrible.
It’s bs.
Yeah, Studio packaging has gotten really cheap and lazy in the last decade.
Hi, I am the director of EverythingBlu and have officially designed the artwork and created the boxsets and slips for many titles, so I totally agree with you.
@@Adeniyidairo Would you consider offering a similar service to the UK collecting market?. I think UK collectors would be very interested 👍
You should see the police academy box set what we got in the uk...awful and cheap looking!
that's sucks.
@stevenmoules4955 yeah that is by far the laziest I've seen. Looks like we may be getting a sean connery 007 4k set later this year.
@@SumDumGy thanks for sharing your thoughts. Different strokes for different folks. Have a fantastic day
@@BlockbusterBoxsetsYou, as well. Thank you for accepting my criticism.
Who needs Seinfeld in 4k. I hope this is parody. If not you're a jackass. Is this not a Tim Heidecker thing?
These flimsy cardboard boxes some Blu-ray sets that they put in big DVD cases I am so sick of this bullshit these companies are so greedy they spend all this time putting TV shows and movies on Blu-ray an 4K and they give you the worst packaging and if you get good packaging from arrow or vinegar syndrome they charge you out the ass. Bullshit
