memes ernie ball jared dines steve terryberry djent 2019 reaction
Now, what if i told you i played all Steve's riffs and he played all mine? ;-)
I bet recording with those ,,things" must have been something! I already have a problem to find comfortable position when recording. Can't imagine, what I would do with THAT. Anyway, it turned out very well ^_^ congratulations!
Hey look Jared is in the comments! 😂😂 Love you bro! Definitely team You 😎
I wouldn't be surprised. You two rock independent of each other.. and are definite a whole other level when combined..
Awesome job you did. Still waiting for Stevie T. to react though .. must have gotten lost when returning to Canada 😜.
I just know that tuning those two "guitars" come with a richter scale mesurer.
Jared you are awesome bro seen you in Portland with Trivium. That was dope love your stuff.
AFTER THE BURIAL - Lost in the Static
A wolf amongst ravens
After the Burial - ANYTHING NOT LOST IN THE STATIC FOR THE FUCKING LOVE OF GOD
YES
Machine - Born Of Osiris
God Jammit - Berried Alive
Make this number one most liked comment. He is always saying how he wants to listen to heavier shit.
Team Stevie, he's so talented, and I think he has a very unique humour
You totally need to watch more Stevie T. Especially the infamous "Women react to metal" series
Carbon_based_life_form so you want him to do a reaction of Stevie doing a reaction to a reaction video?????????
Stuntman Billy TV presicely
Even funnier is the "women react to Stevie T" video ;-)
PLEASE REACT TO "IF DJENT WAS IN THE OXFORD DICTIONARY" BY STEVIE T.
Yes, perfect video for alex to learn what djent is in the most entertaining way possible
BANANA
Bambuka
Pa keng keng keng
Hahah love that video
Good Djent example:
After the Burial - "Berserker" (Reissue 2009! This version, please.)
YES, my favorite ATB song.
Yes this is the song by atb he should react to. Not the new shit.
YES OMG ITS PERFECT
Medicated Bobcat I agree. After the burials newer stuff is cool but Justin Lowe’s influence is what made after the burial who they are
@@colemanmyers8081 hell yea
Team Stevie, some of his content has actually helped me and he's real entertaining, massive fan of Jared but ehhhhhh some of the older content was just so much better. The djent war between them both has been great though xoxo
Jared was great before he took practically a year break preceding and following his EPs.
I can't believe they actually put sand on those guitars. They're both excellent musicians. But Stevie T is definitely the shredmaster. And way more Djenty. Great reaction. More from both of these guys please.
You should also check out Shred Wars - Jared Dines vs. Stevie T
These two have always been fun to watch together, they just seem to be able to not only do something epic, but have some fun at it.
If you want an idea of want Djent is. You should Check out After the Burial song A Wolf Amongst Ravens. It's one of their best songs and my personal favorite I think you'd really like it
Disagree, it's a bit of a boring song. I'd go for Disconnect or Pennyweight
Team StevieT!! After the Burial Behold the Crown is great.
If you are wondering what djent is, that video goes through everything what djent is. With low tuned guitars, bass drops, killswitches etc.
There's not much syncopation and deffinatley no poly rhythms which are kind of the hallmark along with choppy down tunes guitars
just watch stevie t's dictionary definition of djent video
Cafo - Animals as Leaders is a great Djent song, pure music talent and no lyrics.
My favourite AAL song ever!
Knocked Loose- Billy No Mates/Counting Worms and Mistakes Like Fractures
E Rec YES
I think he would like that 2 part music video alot
It will get blocked instantly and give him another strike sadly
@@TheMetal750 how did vin&sori do it then?
@@TheMetal750 I've seen like 3 reactions to Mistakes Like Fractures
The video production was excellent, and the fact that they both even took the time to learn how to play those 18 and 20 string beasts (and very well at that) is impressive in its own right. That they sounded pretty good and had some cool riffs is the icing on the cake.
On another note (and as a shameless reaction request :P), any song by After the Burial is a good example of djent (in combination with, according to the wiki page, prog metal, metalcore, and deathcore). If I had to narrow the range, many of my favorites are from their Dig Deep album, such as Deluge and Laurentian Ghosts. Besides them, there are also plenty of instrumental artists/bands who would also qualify as "djent", such as Intervals, Animals as Leaders, Widek, etc.
Additionally, I like both and don't really want to choose a side...but to make things more complicated, I would also throw The Dooo into the mix for a three-way shred off >:D
I'm with the Stevie team for sure
Also WE NEED MORE DJENT! Veil of Maya! Volumes! After the Burial! Born of Osiris!
YES ^ all my favorite bands are slept on by reaction channels
Both great UA-camrs, you too Alex!
Great reaction lol...still waiting for your WANYK reaction. Weird it hasn't come yet when you couldn't wait for it to drop...
Lost in the Static by After the Burial
Pls fam
(Influx would be good too)
I second this.
I've been commenting this song on almost every video until I gave up!!
Any song besides lost in the static plz
What a great reference to Free Willy! Right in the feels! Thanks Alex!
I think it's finally time for you to react to Animals as Leaders. It's a progressive "jazzy" version of Djent and one of the most technical Bands with one of the best guitarists currently out there. :D
Glad to see Three you-tubers, I all subscribed, in one video.
I love both of them very much, but I always end up watching Stevie more often. He is MY djent god :)
Love Jared, Love Stevie, and LOVE your videos. This is an AWESOME combination!
Those two are amazing shredders. Love their channels. Now Light the Torch brah! And Fire From the Gods dropped 2 new songs for their upcoming album. Both are killer!
Go on for more Djent, react Periphery - Alpha or The Bad Thing!
reptile would be cool
Gotta say, I love both the guys. Maybe we should start a movement to get either (or both) to react to this, so Alex has his own little part of the Great Djent War of 2019...
all i want - A Day to Remeber or anything by them really is glorious
That was awesome! Idk if I can pick just one.
I loved the Jared Vs Stevie video so much it was fucking amazing
Can you react to the Eleventh Hour by August Burns Red?
When Everything Means Nothing by Fit For A King
And/Or revisit Wage War due to the fact that their new album Pressure came out today
That was EPIC AF!!
I love the build up they had it was like a 6 month hype build for the djent battle
Really good video. Hilarious. You should experience Lateralus by Tool soon. You do you my man
I love them both. The most epic battle 🤣
What is even the name of those guitars, is it a guitar/bass all wrapped up into one?? 😲🤯 Cool reaction video coz I would have never seen this otherwise--So thank you Alex, see you in the next video!! 🤟🤟🖤🖤🤘🤘
Go to Stevie t or Jared dines channels to see all about those guitars
@@Will_Wel Oh wow ok, I will thank you!! 🤘🤘
Yeah this is awesome also reacting to spiritbox the mara effect pt.1 would be too! Day 10, not giving up! Lol have a dope ass day my dude
React to Through It All or Lost And Alone by From Ashes To New
Jason Richardson: Hos Down. It's instrumental and will blow your mind!
I recommend the Meinl cymbals video. It's live in studio
Architects Early Grave or These Colours don't run
Yoooooo henfer i saw this notification and clicked fast
About the "drop note" you mentioned:
Those knobs they were turning control the pitch of the strings (how high or low the notes are). Turning these knobs is known as tuning the guitar. There's one knob for each string. The way it works is like this:
The higher the tension, the higher the pitch. The lower the tension, in other words, the "sloppier" the string gets, the lower the pitch goes.
The length of the string matters as well. The shorter the string that is being played, the higher the pitch. The longer the length of the string, the lower the pitch.
So what you saw in the video was them both tuning down their lowest note strings even lower. It's like a "how low can you go?" type of contest.
An interesting thing about how guitar notes work:
It's not just the length of the string and the tension that determines the note being played. By placing their fingers on different frets, guitarists shorten the length of the string that's being played basically, which raises the pitch. That's why you see them move their fingers closer to the main body of the guitar to get the high notes and closer to the guitar neck to get lower notes.
I am both Stevie T and Jared dines they r great. Keep up the great videos Alex. also that would be badass Jared if Stevie T did play your riffs and you played his that's well well awesome
This is hilariusly ridiculus that its awesome xP
React to literally any song by Knocked Loose, also After The Burial - Berzerker / Lost In The Static
You should book up with these lads for your first guitar lessons! You've always said you want to learn
Alex, welcome to the fun world populated by Jared Dines and Stevie T, they are awesome fun, or as I call it awesfun!
CLASSIC...TO BE CONTINUED...HOPEFULLY! TEAM JARED...
Stevie t is so much better but we all know the dooo is the best
We also know Kmac would have out-djented Jared and Stevie with his 6 string tele
yes yes doo is the best
But can dooo djent? We know he can shred
@@SuperRazerGames Alex just said whos better. Dooo is the best guitarist on youtube. He can dual tap and if you actually play guitar, you know the extreme difficulty behind something he does easily
TheDooo is great, but I don't think he's better than Erock, in terms of pure technicality. Also, Jason Richardson has a youtube channel, sooo...
Those guitars are insane!
Dude, that opening made me realize I need an orca shirt haha. Free Willy is what made Killer Whales my favorite animal and Michael Jackson my favorite singer
Check out Counterfeit by Wolves at the Gate
@@gabrielhurtado8783 yep
Team DJENT. LOVE THEM BOTH.Super creative guys who can shred/ djent like no other. Love your vids too.
They are both great!!!
You have to see "most brutal breakdown ever" by Rob and Dave
I built the sky reaction!!! Jared has a shirt of that band
I would love to see you react to jareds old band dissimulator they got a couple of songs on youtube. Also jared white and black ep. Got some wonderful trackes on them :)
You need to check out Devilskin, either "All Fall Down" or "ENDO"
Dude- Helmut, Unsung.
Powerful, Hard and by clean cut dudes
Alex, since you're from Texas, i think u should react to Upon a Burning Body - Texas Blood Money
Hey Alex, I got 3 extra tickets to Knotfest on the 8th. You know anyone who would want them, I don’t want them to go to waste.
Luis, i would go to Knotfest all the way, but i don't have the chance to fly to the US...
Well I mean anyone in the Houston area. Box seats, VIP parking. No cost to them. Just saying lol
Check out wings of nightmares by counterparts. Their new album comes out November 1st and I am so hyped for it
Bands that you have *never reacted to* but should have in my opinion (in alphabetical order):
- Amaranthe
- Beast in Black
- Blackbriar
- Equilibrium
- Exit Eden
- Hammerfall
- Heidevolk
- Korpiklaani
- Lordi
- Lord of the Lost
- Manowar
- Nirvana
- Sirenia
- Skillet
- Sonata Arctica
- Týr
- Van Canto
- Within Temptation
People feel free to add bands I missed!
Yo Alex I think you should go back to your old intro, I think it’d be a cool throwback
Rob Scallon's banjo cover of Slayer's "Raining Blood" :D
Yes slayer
Ok +AlexHefner to give you an idea of what Djent is. It’s a sub genre of Prog metal where they typically use extended range guitars i.e 7,8, and 9 string guitars. Lots of different effects are used to give it that signature sound such as whammy pedals, pitch shifters, noise gates, and killswitches. Typically the main riffs of the songs contain a lot of off time notes. Mainly a lot of palm muting is done to give it an even lower sound and to help with noise reduction.
Agreed mate!
Jon Gomm- Passionflower. That song is so creative and complicated. He actually does something with the running pegs mid song...but I don’t want to ruin the surprise!
Team Stevie T
Born of Osiris - Cycles of Tragedy
Born of Osiris - Silence the Echo
Seraphim - Chapter 3: Exile
All good djent style songs
You've listened to the godfathers of djent already, Meshuggah. They are where djent began. Some others worth checking out are: Veil of Maya, After the Burial, Tesseract, Sikth, Textures, Vildhjarta, and The Contortionist.
Yo alex
I've subscribed to you a very long time. This is my first time to request something. Would you react to three bastards by infant annihilator pls
Thx bro
That opening riff put me in a neck brace. Thanks
Hey alwx since you stated that you have a soft spot for YT content creators, i would LOVE to see you react to Jonathan Youngs cover of Unravel. So much emotions!
An awesome Djent band you gotta check out is Volumes- Serenity. They have a lot of Djenty vibes in that song
Meshuggah are considered by many to be the fathers of djent. So many good songs to check out by them - Bleed, Rational Gaze, Future Breed Machine to name a few.
Mayhem - Freezing Moon
Motionless in White - Thoughts and Prayers
Behemoth - Bartzabel
Slipknot - Critical Darling
Any of these would make my freaking day
You should try Animals As Leaders ! CAFO, Physical Education or the Brain Dance would be great discoveries :)
How bout some more Corey Taylor? React to 30-30/150 by Stone Sour!
In this moment - the promise!!!
A great djentlemen djently reacts to the two greatest djent gods ever created in djent metal
Have you watched the live videos of Jared Dines playing with Trivium on tour when Matt Heafy had to leave the tour cause his kids were being born? Its awesome to see
I'd like to see a reaction to Flyleaf. Any one of their more popular songs.
"I'm so sick" is a good and catchy one.
I was thinking Again.
Please check out Lovebites - Shadowmaker. They even invited to perform at Bloodstock & Wacken 2018.
I think Rick Beato explained about Djent in one of his videos..highly recommended, I am not musical but Rick Beato's video is very rich and theoritical :D
Stevie T all the way, without question!
Please do MOTIONLESS IN WHITE- 570
I know I'm late, but please react to more of Stevie T! He's really funny and I love his and your content. Imagine two of my favorite UA-camrs collided...
Any chance of a reaction to Leave Me Here by Cult of Luna??
Only one thing better than Stevie T and Jared's vids... and that is you reacting to them. Youre vids always make me feel better. Thank you.
Michael Reynolds you’re more than welcome! I love this comment
Faith no more - Epic
Yes, the twisting of the tuner head means the string tension loosens and the tone drops. But with a guitar that has so many (bass) strings, it's meant to be a joke.
After the Burial - A Wolf Amongst Ravens or Pennyweight
***Just dropped: Northwest Passage by Unleash the Archers. Awesome cover of a Canadian folk song
Listened to it at least 5 times so far today
Wearing Scars - Butterfly (Album version)
React to rings of Saturn
