It also looks like it is a safer "trampoline"! LOL! You owe Sloan a new teddy, otherwise, great job!

That chest of drawers was far too big for her (what two year old can fill that with clothes?), and all the accessories didn't take into account the little girl's height. She can't reach her own toys in those big baskets or on those high shelves. @@sindiskiti3946 the animal head knobs were a health and safety nightmare for a two year old... they dance about and play and slip and fall... straight into a pointy eared fox or an elephants trunk and gouge an eye out. I would have used those on the higher drawers that Sloan cannot reach.
Beautiful and very creative! The little girl obviously loves her dusty pink room . One's first big girl (or boy) bed is always a big deal to a child--thanks for reminding me!
I can't with the cuteness exuding from Sloan!!!! I think the room turned out beautiful....ultimately, I think it's what mom wanted for the room. Alexandra did the job she was asked to do and did it well.
She's 2 - I think you got things wrong this time: the very sharp points on the animal knobs, the plant. Huge no......(sigh). She does not need sophistication, grown decor.....
Shes probably going to fall out of the bed. If it doesnt have rails. My 3 year old has a toddler bed & still falls out. But her bed is pretty much floor level.
I don't get it… at the beginning I was so happy because just like me she loves purple and hates red… but where is the purple?? Where are the teddies?? I am confused, why did you ask Sloan what she wants if you did not plan on doing it?! She might only be two but her opinion should be important (moreover this room is gonna be her private space…)… the room still looks very pretty and cosy but it is way too 'big girl' for her…
I think like Willi Smith Jeans and use three knobs like buttons, and drybrush blue to look like distressed denim. Like the pink circle, and love the birdies, so cute and creative. Enjoy the years growing up Sloane!
Ok, seriously, you two are the most adorable....I love the Auntie Gater moniker....this kid needs to go into television (absolutely cutest little girl). You and your show brings me such joy and smiles. Alexandra, another great design job! Way to go Auntie Gater!!!! You are a fantastic design duo!
everyone saying there should've been more purple...kids change their favorite color every other day. notice how she said she doesnt like red yet she has red glasses lol. the mom probably didn't want the hassle of changing the room color. and they used a lot of her old decor that matches pink more than purple. ANYWAY, sloan is precious.
Yeah she can't really control what glasses her parents get her. Nor which color is on the wall. I mean the argument I see most is her glasses but its like realistically her mom just grabbed a pair she thought was cute knowing she liked purple not really caring about the red part. Also there's different shades of purple and the circle could have had the adult dusty purple color instead of a dusty rose. It's not a big deal but I see why people are sad about it.
Could easily do purple curtains, rug, bedding...maybe artwork. So there are ways to incorporate the color without paint. And decor can be changed easily.
The birds were the definite touch that was needed!🤩 Sloan is a sweet girl and who wouldn't love to go from a crib to a double.. that's amazing. Great job 👏
Well I cannot handle the cuteness of that little girl, let’s start there 😍 she said ‘thank you’ all by herself and was so well spoken for a 2 year old!! I’m dying 💕 also, this room is absolutely perfect!! LOVE it!! Ps: I had a mini laughter attack while watching you paint the dresser and joke about it 🤣 you’re such a cute dork! Lol btw I wanna do that costume made dresser for myself now 🤩
The room looked amazing. I really loved the color palette you used. That dusty pink works so well with the pistatchio green and light wood color. It is definitely a timeless room. I would def keep it like this till my teens and just add posters and decoration. Great job!!! I also love purple! Haha
Alexandra is so good with kids!!! I enjoyed watching the entire video and you should do more kids rooms and even teens rooms!!! You look great in the orange dress!! I love it!!!
Double beds are fantastic, all my kids have one, it gives enough room for mum/dad to snuggle up at bed time for a little while . And if you have adult guests over without needing spare rooms you can swap around sleeping arrangements and they have a decent size bed for their stay. It just makes sense! Especially as a bed that size takes them to adulthood.
Awwwww she's so adorable. Also, I like that you kept it almost neutral so that almost anything that she adds going forward, wouldn't clash. Great work Alexandra! Love it!
Love the giant circle, it’s magnificent! Uh, an idea to bring some purple in for this cutie pie: Dip the ends of that straw lamp shade into metallic purple paint, so it has even more texture (!) and maybe reflects some light dots onto the walls ...? (I guess purple foil would work even better) 🦄
I clicked SO fast! Excited to see you do the circle trend - also I'd love to see a tone on tone room from you - like a mint green room with deep green trim. Also, PLEASE tell me where you got your lilac footed bowl on your bookshelves. I went back and watched a bunch of videos of yours to find a source, but couldn't!
Alexandra, What a great transition for such a cutie pie little girl. You have such an eye for pulling things together and adding such unique and fun elements. Please stay well, stay safe, and take care of yourself. I'm 76, retired, and am staying close to home. I apologize for our president, I didn't vote for him, but still feel somewhat responsible. Any ways, toodle loo. I do have a cousin in Saskatchewan and a few in BC. Gooooo Canada.
Lol @ ppl complaining her room isn't purple. She's two years old, her fav colour probably changes every day. She seemed pretty thrilled with the results in the end and the room looked beautiful.
Tori Tori but she went with the bohemian theme which must likely sloan knows nothing about. She obviously knows her colours, she said purple and added she doesnt like red. Most likely her mum wanted a pink room for her. But anyways she liked it
I also wanted to add that I like the plant. Children can be taught to care for plants in their room I was a preschool teacher and I had plants in my room and the children really enjoyed them.
It's a beautiful and functional room. Still, I'm all grown up and I'm crying in disappointment that the child did not get her purple or her teddy bears. At least they could have added a purple bedspread and some teddy bear decals on the dresser. Also, a child can get hurt on protuberant drawer hardware. This very thing came up in a British competitive decorating show. Not gonna lie, my main reaction is WTF?
A lovely room for a lovely girl🥰 I especially like the bed, as a parent (or auntie) you can cosy lay with your child reading a story, singing a song or comforting the child if she has a bad dream or is sad or when she is sick. Love it
This comment section is rough. Two year olds change their mind on their favourite colour every two seconds so Alexandra probably didn’t want to paint the whole room pink for her to change her mind two seconds later. A lot of people promote putting plants in children’s rooms, especially if you follow more Montessori/Waldorf style parenting. And so don’t think she meant that Sloan will want this exact room forever but the she meant the bigger pieces will last longer with her. I get the criticism but also feel bad when she obviously wants the room to be awesome for her and knows her and her mother’s style well.
I agree. The comment sections on pretty much all of Alexandra’s videos are like this. It’s hard to see because I think she does a great job on her makeovers! And I also agree about two year olds. And three year olds and four year olds. Lol. They change their minds a lot. I’m almost certain the mom had more to say about the makeover than Sloan did (as would I if this were for my child). And what I like most about the makeover is there’s room to grow and implement all of the changes Sloan wants as those decisions are made. Alexandra did a great job of laying the base down 🙂 I don’t think the heavy criticism is warranted and I don’t really get it 🤷♀️
That specific plant is actually toxic to children and animals. While children change their mind often it's a little silly to ask what she wanted and then include none of it, not even in a small way. And some bigger pieces make sense, like the dresser(although those knobs are kinda scary) and others don't like high shelves with stuff she will actually want(this leads to kids trying to climb and grab what they want which is dangerous). I think Alexandria has great intentions and a lot of her ideas are good, like the lamp with clipped on birds or the dresser because it's all customizable, but sometimes she can be a bit out of her depth and people explaining this will only help her in future makeovers. If no one had concerns then she would continue to do things that may actually not be practical or in fact harmful to the child.
Yes, somehow the comments think this kid is heartbroken about the color purple, ignoring the fact she said she liked bohemian like she even knows what that is haha Its a cute room. I'm not sure why her comment section is like this all the time.
Omg, the cuteness never ends. Sloane is so adorable and I love her new room. My favorite is the light with the birds, they were a perfect addition. I also love that tree trunk, I can see Sloane adding a large brass tray top as a teen. Great job Alexandra!

@@sindiskiti3946 the animal head knobs were a health and safety nightmare for a two year old... they dance about and play and slip and fall... straight into a pointy eared fox or an elephants trunk and gouge an eye out. I would have used those on the higher drawers that Sloan cannot reach.
Annette West Yesss indeed👍🏽
Beautiful and very creative! The little girl obviously loves her dusty pink room . One's first big girl (or boy) bed is always a big deal to a child--thanks for reminding me!
"Auntie Gater let's get started" aaaaawwwwwww 😍😍😍
I think it is beautiful! It's nice to have a calming space because once there are toys everywhere it can get too much!
Where’s the purple??? She specifically asked for that color!
Great points- Hopefully the little girls mom can make these safety adjustsments.
Hey it’s her life leave her alone her mom makes decisions
The beginning of this video with Sloan made me smile so much. So sweet 😁
Very cute however I feel this room is more appropriate for a 10yr old Sloan is two she wanted teddies and purple and your only a kid once 🙄
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ we don't know their budget. Prices can add up. They already had a lot of pinkish decor. It's a cute room for a cute kid
I´d have used something you could swap out easily for the purple.
The birds were the definite touch that was needed!🤩 Sloan is a sweet girl and who wouldn't love to go from a crib to a double.. that's amazing. Great job 👏
Does this little girl remind anyone else of the kid in “Jerry Maguire”? Sloan is soooo cute ❤️
love all of it, the light and birds, the dresser and of course the circle
OMG she has glasses, so cute!🤗 The room looks awesome. I was sceptical about the dresser paint treatment at first but it works.
She is so adorable. What a precious little girl. The room is fantastic!!!
Lol btw I wanna do that costume made dresser for myself now 🤩
That little “thank you” 🥺 she is so cute!!
“A regular grown up light” she says, while having a bird light in her own apartment 😅
Cecilie Blondin 😂😂😂I thought the same thing!
My favorite one! You should do more children’s bedroom! I loved when she called you auntie!!!!
The room looked amazing. I really loved the color palette you used. That dusty pink works so well with the pistatchio green and light wood color. It is definitely a timeless room. I would def keep it like this till my teens and just add posters and decoration. Great job!!!
I also love purple! Haha
Thank goodness you went with the natural light! I love it so much more than the black! Esp with the birds!
"In 5 years when she outgrowns...." My seven self would've loooved this still!
Alexandra is so good with kids!!! I enjoyed watching the entire video and you should do more kids rooms and even teens rooms!!! You look great in the orange dress!! I love it!!!
I'm only two minutes into the video but it's absolutely illegal how adorable Sloan is she's so cute!
I think you absolutely nailed it. My kiddo just turned two, and I can see a lot of these things working.
Let the kid be a kid... She’ll have plenty of time to be sophisticated.
EXACTLY!👏🏼👏🏼
Really adorable and she clearly loved it!! Most designers say it's a design that grows with a child but this really is!! So cute!!
Everything’s good except that painted drawer.
Double beds are fantastic, all my kids have one, it gives enough room for mum/dad to snuggle up at bed time for a little while . And if you have adult guests over without needing spare rooms you can swap around sleeping arrangements and they have a decent size bed for their stay. It just makes sense! Especially as a bed that size takes them to adulthood.
most kids dont start hating their “kid room” until they’re like twelve, i dont see the point in being so concerned about making her room “adult”
Tatum Halligan Exactly she’s 2!!
In her defense, she had a baby crib and a changing table. You grow out of those fast lol
Awwwww she's so adorable. Also, I like that you kept it almost neutral so that almost anything that she adds going forward, wouldn't clash. Great work Alexandra! Love it!
Does she really know what bohemian is😂😂😂😂😂
She is so clear what does she want❤
She is adorable! The room looks whimsical and fun.💜
She's so adorable that i cannot handle such amount of cuteness!!😍😍😭❤️❤️❤️
This was such a sweet episode, it brought tears to my eyes. I really liked that you took things she already had and included them in your design.
OMG....I can't hardly take it !!! Sloan is so sweet and precious. OMG !!!
💕💕💕 The excitement on her face was purely heartwarming 💕💕💕
Alexandra : what's your style
Slone : bohemian
Me : I didn't know what that meant till I was 11.
She's smart
No, her mum told her to said it. ;)
The room is beautiful :) the little girl is so adorable. I think if there are shelves or for her to put books and purple colour toys will be perfect.
Love it , she is so adorable 😍
Alexandra, What a great transition for such a cutie pie little girl. You have such an eye for pulling things together and adding such unique and fun elements. Please stay well, stay safe, and take care of yourself. I'm 76, retired, and am staying close to home. It is so wonderful that so many of my favorite channels on facebook, like yours, are helping to make things more normal and cheery too. Sending love from South Carolina,, your southern neighbor. I apologize for our president, I didn't vote for him, but still feel somewhat responsible. Any ways, toodle loo. I do have a cousin in Saskatchewan and a few in BC. Gooooo Canada.
I’m so nervous with Alexandra wearing that dress while painting!
That bird light was too cute! My 1 year old would love that.
Lol @ ppl complaining her room isn't purple. She's two years old, her fav colour probably changes every day. She seemed pretty thrilled with the results in the end and the room looked beautiful.
Agree.
Same here
Tori Tori but she went with the bohemian theme which must likely sloan knows nothing about. She obviously knows her colours, she said purple and added she doesnt like red. Most likely her mum wanted a pink room for her. But anyways she liked it
I agree. The comments here are insufferable.
Most adorable makeover!!!!! Sloan is the absolute cutest!!!
I am surprised by there the bed were placed, it took up the while room! Were is the play area?
That's a pretty big room. I see lots of room to play. But I'm going to guess that she has a play room in the house.
@@kathykov1 it's a big
house plenty space 4 a 2 year old child 2 play
I also wanted to add that I like the plant. Children can be taught to care for plants in their room I was a preschool teacher and I had plants in my room and the children really enjoyed them.
It’s so cute! But where is the purple:(? -I haven’t finished the video yet so maybe it’s coming but I’m 3 quarters through and no purple for Sloan yet
I was just about to ask the same thing! 😂 She clearly wanted purple somewhere.
Not gonna lie, my main reaction is WTF?
maybe the big circle painted in purple will look great too.
If you rewatch the beginning if the video, Alexandra asked her what she wanted, they were sitting in the finished room already.
@@hkhkhk2019 I think that might have been too much of a contrast.
A lovely room for a lovely girl🥰
I especially like the bed, as a parent (or auntie) you can cosy lay with your child reading a story, singing a song or comforting the child if she has a bad dream or is sad or when she is sick. Love it
This comment section is rough.
Alexandra did a great job of laying the base down 🙂 I don’t think the heavy criticism is warranted and I don’t really get it 🤷♀️
The first sane comment for this video! Totally agree.
If no one had concerns then she would continue to do things that may actually not be practical or in fact harmful to the child.
but she did paint the whole room pink. I thought when she started drawing out the circle that it would be painted purple. No, it was pink too.
I'm pretty sure that lamp is history after Sloan jumps on the bed to swing on it a few times.
Oh my God! Sloan is the most adorable little thing ever!
Guys that bit at the start was filmed after the makeover! Pretty sure it’s there for a giggle not to be taken literally. Sloan probably wanted pink and changed her mind because she is two 🤣
The dresser turned out fab. Lovely color too.
