My father and I were in a doctor’s waiting room and I saw a similar bed buildout in a magazine. Showed the article to my Dad and we talk about how awesome it looked and how easy it would be to build, the two of us. 😛 Mom thought we were biting off more than we could chew but in the end she did help. 🤗 On a Thursday and Friday Mom and I cleared my small bedroom of my furniture and belongings. Over the weekend Dad and I measured, bought the wood and nails, then measured, cut, nailed, rinsed and repeated til the buildout took shape.. Bed on top with a small bookcase at the head of the bed, a built in ladder at the end of the bed, a study with a desk, chair and bookcase underneath.. I loved it from age 11 til I was almost 17. So sad when we had to tear it down to make way for a young woman style room😢😌. Thanks for reminding me of this memory as I’m 66 years old now, 😛 so this happen over 50 years ago. Nice to see and think of other youngsters enjoying such a buildout.❤️ Oh, and my study doorway had the wooden hippy beads dangling in it…such a cool sound when going in and out of my study area 🤣.
This is so fun!! If it werent for the fact that we are in our 60s and probably wont have the best mobility in 20 or so years I would love this for my husband and me!😂 Its just so frigging cool!
This was exactly what I was looking for. Going to tackle this today, appreciate you making the plans available. Thanks from another Dad, engineer, DIYer...
So awesome!! Love the mural underneath. I would want to utilize storage in the stairs as well and make each one some sort of pull-out drawer. Amazing build!!
@@dieypslackiert It seems to me like he used the space underneath the stairs to put shelves into it. When you look at the "play area", the shelving on the left matches the hight of the stairs.
Dude, this is the best I've seen on the web for this sort of thing. Build super solid too... I've got a 2.5 year old who is about to transition to a regular bed and I'm looking down the road a couple years and this sort of thing will be perfect.
Awesome book that gives you step-by-step photos ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxTNB_zFBSnTo_O1PqfVUwgi7ityw0JlKt and directions to make every day project. I can see myself making a few of these projects and giving them as housewarming and holiday gifts!
This is a great design and I love the color tones. It’s very beautiful. I am not sure about the light fixtures right underneath the bed though. I would check the EMF level and put something underneath the mattress to block out the EMF since it’s prolong exposure during sleep. 🛌 This is a wonderful project overall!
Hi, very nice bed and at general nice work. Congrats for you and especially for girls :). We had similar bed i.e. two beds in children room. Between beds we made stairs cca. 80 cm (30 inch) wide , very similar like you (if you mirror stairs and bed to the left side get very similar configuration as we had). But, under stairtreads we made drawers for toys storage. Very, very usefull space regarding lack of space in our apartment. Once again, nice work! Best regards.
ahh this is so beautiful and creative. i want a loft bed so badd, my dad insists i dont need it but i feel like itd be so much more convenient lol. space wise, my room is pretty small
Do you, perhaps, have plans for sale for this? Oh! You do indeed!! My gosh, this is MARVELOUS. I agree, the skill level is Advanced. One can but try as hard as one might. I'm a 70-yo gramdma, but, I raised 3 boys by myself, so, I'm actually going to try to tackle this. With my 16.75 yo grandson. There will be cursing involved. Thx for doing a beautiful thing here. And, please tell Madison Thx a bunch!!
This is awesome - I built both my girls' beds, but have been considering rebuilding them into something a little more space saving. If they didn't have ceiling fans, this would be much more doable. I'd be concerned about the longevity - do you think she'll be able to 'grow into it' as well as her previous bed? Not sure how much a teenager would appreciate those stairs haha
I love it!! Did I read the plans right that the height is 10'? Do you really have 10' ceilings in a bedroom? I'm pretty sure mine are only 8', but I'm hoping I can amend the plans a bit to compensate for the difference in height.
Little Daughter's room was too plain, So Dad broke down all the stuff in her room to clear it all out and start a new room. First, Dad got some galvanized square steels and used it to make a layout, then secure firmly with borrowed screws from his aunt, covered with eco friendly wood veneers. Durable for 10,000 years. Next, add a cushion to the bed frame and add wall matresses by the side to ensure comfyness, dig out a hole on top of the bed, store belongings such as books and paintings and add an extension hole for charging purposes. Dig out holes under the stairs for storage. Using eco friendly wood, build a wardrobe and cover with eco-friendly plastic to store clothes, add her gaming table and few touches. Here is your special room!

Yea I think it will last a while but definitely not forever.
Your turn.
@@rogueengineerI wondered if the dog can go up those stairs 😊

How could i modify this for 9ft ceilings?
Would this be sturdy enough for an adult?
Would this type of design fit a standard 8' tall ceiling?
This was such a help because my dad is going to make me one but what size is the wood
o my gosh cute i wish i could get one ....unfortunetly cant.
by the way i tink it turned out amasing

Hmmmmm..... did you take this from an animated bedroom redesign video from another channel? Cause it seems familiar.
"borrowed screws from his aunt"
I was actually half expecting someone to comment that🤣
You use Shellac for the primer? Or did you use Bull's-eye 123? Also this is a great looking bed. You gyys did a great job. Keep up the great work 👍👍.
We used a water based bullseye 1-2-3
I WOULD LOVE THIS AS A 10 YR OLD OMG- my room is tinyyy tho-
I wounder if adults can fit in theat bed cuz that looks amazing
Awesome!! Just wondering how long it took to build. And how much it cost.
Just found your video. Amazing job!!. One question, what is your ceiling height?
I'm almost 40, is it too late to be adopted by you, guys? xD Amazing job you did, I ADORE it!!!!!!! ❤❤✨✨😍😍
