@@WaltPowellEnt Vai has a very different melodic sense than Eddie’s, and Edward is one of my top favorite players of all time. The only way I could see what you’re saying is if you’ve only listened to his work with David Lee Roth because anyone who’s followed Vai’s solo career would hear the significant difference in their playing since 1990. He’s been doing exotic stuff like this for some time now, it sounds more like you just haven’t listened to a lot of his stuff from over the years.

Steve Vai... Your playing is unconventional at times, but you know when to sprinkle in resolutions to the key you're in so that the listener isn't totally lost and doesn't lose interest. You keep it different, sometimes very much so, but still very enticing to listen to. The path you take your listener on is quite windy, and you do deviate from it, but not so much that the listener can no longer see the path. Thank you father Steve! 🤙

Musicians are often called Artists, though few deserve the title-Steve genuinely is an artist. He creates masterpieces using guitars as brushes, licks, riffs and tones as colors and shades and when finished its something each of us can see in our minds eyes via our ears. Thank you Steve!
Beautiful, dark, disturbing yet brilliantly enlightening.

What I love about this guy is he plays with the same intensity every time he picks that guitar up! No half -ass performance ever! you can see the joy he experiences in every performance, and, when goes into the zone; that zone you hit where there is no thinking involved -just playing, fuk it! His creativity is stunning!

All of the years of playing with Zappa, DLR and all of his own playing experiences seem to coalesce into this one track. It’s so unbelievably Vai and so singular (yet synthesised from all of his influences) and when he gets to the solo point in this song, he enters a lightning-in-a-bottle moment where he almost literally makes his guitar speak. The barrier between music and speech is threatened. In the best way possible. The solo is one of the great moments where music touches the infinite- years of mastery and unique phrase after unique phrase, cascading forth like fluid speech. I’m so blown away by this track and this performance. It’s such a culmination and meeting point of everything he’s ever done. Just, wow. No words.

This is some of the best Steve music I've heard in years. Big respect and admiration. The way he moves when he plays guitar, it's just so Steve, and twisted. Normal people are like straight straws and Steve's a curly straw. Graham Bonnet was right for saying he loved working with Steve because he is so unique. We are so lucky.
