The first tape I ever had. This was the show that made me love this band. Unfortunately it wasn’t till 4 years after. Just wish I listened to my friends sooner. 94 was the first time I was introduced to them, wasn’t till late 97 I actually got it, and then 99 when I finally went. But hey better late than never, and after 25 years of shows I’m finally about to hit my 150th
Good Times... We in the crowd had tons of energy, and the band really seemed to be having a good time with the new arena rock thing... . TREY ON THIS DIVIDED SKY: “We were at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago. And we were playing “Divided Sky,” and we got down to this quiet part where it gets silent. And we were getting quieter and quieter, and then became silence. And I had my eyes closed, and I could feel the crowd, and I started to - because improvising is, you`re trying to translate the - what`s out there already, greater pattern of things. And sometimes it feels like it`s coming through the hole, and you couldn`t play a wrong note if you tried; you`re just floating. And at that moment, you are in the middle of it, and I started to see those colors, like I`m not kidding, floating around there, and I realized that I could almost - it was silent, but I could see what we were translating. And as soon as I could see them, I started improvising, but I didn`t play anything. I did everything in the sense of improvisation, except for the actual notes, and as soon as I did it, the whole place erupted. It was like, whoa, and just tears started rolling down my face, and it was at that moment that I knew that it was truly bigger than me. It. You know what I mean? There were probably a lot of moments like that, but those two just come to mind. It was amazing.”

I was not there. But first heard of them in dead lots around 90 91 maybe. Didn’t make my first show until 96 DeerCreek was all about Jerry at the time ❤ and still am, but got to love the p fish they definitely filled a huge hole in my musical heart and still are. ❤
I love 6/18/94 because it proves that Phish’s formula of silly, proggy, energetic, improvised madness appeals to a large fan base. 6/18/94 brings the heat, the weirdness, the risks.
Thanks! My college friends got my Deadhead ass into Phish, dragged me to the Gaillard Charleston SC 94, fed me a sugarcube, Jon played the Electrolux, 2 years later i was on tour. Forever Grateful
I'm super happy that they're still out there and when I can get my shit together I'm going to go see them again, but you are more than correct and we are super blessed that we got to go on that ride with them through the 90s and experience the greatest bands greatest trajectory ever! And the greatest guitar playing ever!
Agreed. I went to Univ of Vermont in 1987 when they were playing Nectars, bars, and parties. A house party they played in 87 was about 250 yards from my dorm (Davis). I became a fan in 90. First show was Barre VT 91. To me, the best years were 90-97, but 92-95 was the best of the best. My last show was Halloween 2014.
My first show, I'm down front in front of Page. I was 19 at the time. It was a magical night! Do you remember the entire stadium doe-see-do'd to Bouncing Around the Room at the encore? I ended up way at the back of the room!
I was there dancing my ass off near the front on the floor. I remember the floor being extremely comfortable with never any feeling of overcrowdedness.
this show is insane...one of the best set lists ever, the energy is off the charts.

We left early...😂
The Holy Grail of Phish video. An absolutely astounding show all around.

Watching this today is like watching Benny Goodman in 1934 back then.
We're getting older... wish I could dance all night long like I used to, lol.
One of the best of all time.
My 1st show!!! I was on the rail in front of Mike. Mind: blown
One of my first 10 phish shows ! I'm at 561 now...lol what an awesome ride it's been!
Shout out to the band and the 30th anniversary of this insanely good show!
My phirst phish show!!❤
What a legendary first show
I'm watching this and amazed at Treys energy in Maze. What a show! Love the Chicago shows.
This is the only Phish show I've been to but it was a memorable experience!

@@kh7955 they released a CD of those shows Chicago '94 😊

....... Na..... Jerry's death helped them sooo much. I'm glad they have matured and done with the Zappa sthic
@@evertking1 I’m talking in context of 1994 - Jerry still alive and Phish playing pretty solid venues.
perfect show, I saw them for the first time a couple weeks before this show, they came to Delaware!
Thanks! My college friends got my Deadhead ass into Phish, dragged me to the Gaillard Charleston SC 94, fed me a sugarcube, Jon played the Electrolux, 2 years later i was on tour. Forever Grateful
My 1st show was in 92.... I may be jaded but the 90's. Were the best they played in phishtory.... 247 shows later I feel like I can say that on here!

Typing out “phishtory”, the year of your first show and naming the amount of shows you’ve seen, does not make you seem jaded just simply pretentious
@@cshubsthose Halloween shows were the end for me and I only started in 99
@@ay_yal5217 I also saw the 95 and 98 weens.
This is incredible. My second show, I’m right down in front of Mike, just getting my 16 year old mind blown. Hot one!!

I was there. Smokin' hot memories. Would lose 5lbs per show.
This is my first time seeing this show on video!!❤😂
In the 90's you saw Phish one weekend, the next you were at a huge rave.
What a groovy show I haven't listen to this in a longtime❤
I was there dancing my ass off near the front on the floor. I remember the floor being extremely comfortable with never any feeling of overcrowdedness.
My only complaint about this show is I was blasting it at full voume at 2 am and my wife came in and tole me to turn it down..
A lot of teasers/ riffs which are now songs in their catalog
Just listen to that guitar playing at 1:06:00
Those were the days.
Insane.

Was this the UIC show that they ran out of ice early and was very hot in there?
I was there, and it was super hot. Trey had a fan on him, I was skeptical it was helping.
