No Master, Bachelors, PhD. Required to play this. It's absolutely fantastic, has everything you want/need. Can't get better honestly... It's just so fun also.
The best thing about kingsmarch, in my opinion, is that unlike other out of map leagues, it does not disrupt your maping. I.e. you don't feel like your missing out on something if you don't go each map
I want little boat icons on top of my experience bar that move from left to right representing 100% of the hornet and when you hover over it you see the exact time

Ziggy, apparently someone on the PoE subreddit discovered the formula for how dust affects shipments. It has greatly diminishing returns. 55 dust will double the value of your shipment, but it takes 8,150 to triple it.
Can confirm, put in 10, then 100, then 1000, then 10000 of an item and measured dust 100 at a time down to 9k dust. It falls off extremely hard after 2.4x value from dust
I understood the league mechanic pretty well i thought but the trickle down thing i didn’t know, also want to say you explain everything so well, very well spoken and easy to understand
Crashed twice on release night i think, but even then, those were hours apart and i could get back into the game instantly. Other then that it realy has been smooth sailing
First league I crashed a bunch. They seem to have sorted it out though. But I am still experiencing a weird lag/stutter effect (it also stutters visually)
Ziggy out here giving a business management and financing lecture. 😂 Real talk though, at least for where I am at in Act 10, the league content feels really smooth and well done. There are a few niggles (mostly just ui qol) like Ziggy noted, but nothing that is super egregious, especially since we can use movement skills in Kingsmarch! The settlement management flows into the core gameplay loop and adds a lot of good early power. Def should go core.
thanks for the excellent video, I had no idea rewards were tied to types of goods shipped. subbed and looking forward to seeing any further discoveries :D
Black market is legit, don't snooze on it, especially when leveling. They explained this during the launch video but I feel it's been overlooked. Essentially, the gambling has a good chance to eliminate lower tier modifiers, so with a bit of extra gold you can snag a significant upgrade. I felt like my character was falling behind at act 8/9, so I dropped 2k gold and got a massive upgrade. Obviously RNG comes into play, but it's a feature players should know about. The final acts were smooth sailing (pun intended) from there.
I've tried once, lost half my gold to buy a ring and I got some blue quality trash. No thanks, I won't touch the thing till I'm overwhelmed with gold just sitting there.
@@warmongerism I got a sick chest at level 35 which brought me to white maps. And all I wanted was a 4 link. It was triple ele res, life and flat armor with an open prefix
I only got total dumpster shit from it. If it was a rare, than not even 4 link. And on boots always no movespeed or maximum of 15. This smartloot 2.0 is horse*** for levelling. Maybe in endgame its better.
See Ziggy what you said in 6:43 was "Just be careful you don't dump all your gold into this" But what I heard was "Just don't be careful, you dump all your gold into this"
The amount of dust you get from disenchanting an item is based on both the item level and the tiers of mods on an item. So if you have an item with tier one mods that's undesirable (like a bad base or the mods themselves aren't great like reflect) they will be worth much more to disenchant.
The content has so much potential for expansion of the concept. There is probably a limit to how much complexity players will accept. But I for one, would love if they expanded the possibilities in the town. Maybe more ports or something. Imagine if the ressources became a value that could be traded between players as well as having a value for ports.
Personally hope it goes core and instead of having the premade port you can put it in the hideout. Make small shacks for say smaller hideouts, while larger ones can have larger buildings. One less click and makes you interact with the hideout with one less place to jump to from the waypoint.
THANK YOU! I did not realise you could assign workers specific tasks in smelting/mining.. I had them all doing one at a time and then moving on to the next, so every time I collected more crimson ore, they would just keep working that instead of the other ones too lol
I've had so much fun so far this league, it's by far my favourite league GGG has ever released. The different types of ores with different mechanics that are reminiscent of previous league mechanics is a nice way to keep things interesting and fun.
Super excited to see your next video on discoveries! I really like that in Synthesis and Delve. I need to know how to min max my town!! Like it never dawned on me that food = currency and ore/bars = items... but when I had send nothing but food I got gum ball and when my food had to be eaten as a disaster I just got rares... so that's a great observation!
Man, it was on sight that I was comfortable saying this needs to be core. They put too much effort into it to not be! I'm glad to hear you're really enjoying it. I haven't gotten to interface with it much yet, but I look 😢forward to it.
I've been wanting passive or side content in POE for so long and this is definitely scratching that itch. If there was a regular crafting bench in Kingsmarch, I'd just never go into my hideout again.
Thanks. I wanted to make sure the bars were 5x better like I assumed, so thanks for verifying that. I also wasn't sure about runes, so thanks for that as well.
Great video, looking forward to your testing and results of what to ship to get best stuff. How to get more workers took me forever to figure out. If you make another video for this maybe include the little button you have to click in order to get new workers you can then hire.
Hey Ziggy you basically get that screen of yours if you talk to the NPC in any town or your hideout. Would be nice with a button indeed, maybe a bit OP as you can indeed to some managing from the town map.
I always wanted a tavern/encampment management since D2. I thought they would add it in D3 and in a way they did with the initial 2 vendors, but like everything else in that game, it was too shallow. It fits the flavor of ARPG a lot IMO. I really hope they add some aspects of it. Maybe the recombinators and runes probably not, but the rest could stay. It is strange to say, but gold just feels right too.
Thank you for the overview, especially for what resources will result in what shipping rewards, that will be very usefull! Haven't been hyped for league this much in a long time ^^
So one thing data miners already figured out is certain ports offer certain resources. Like the Karui ports are the only ones that can give tattoos. I already love the league but I do have one minor nitpick, I wish it weren't so focused only on mapping. It would have been great if you could pull resources from Delve and maybe finding caches of pre-mined resources in Heist periodically. That way Delvers and Heisters(me!) don't feel punished for wanting do that that content. I've always been a huge Heist fan and it really feels like to engage with this league properly I need to focus on mapping only.
@@deathcare They mean we arent getting resources outside of the occasional mining thing in maps, there's no cross-rewarding from say Simulacrum or Expedition. If it goes core, like I commented, it could become that, or maybe Atlas will have benefits change
Also, port distance impacts ship return time. That much is clear. It's ~40 min for the close starting ports, and ~2 hours for the tier 2 ports. I imagine those farther ports offer better rewards though, but I haven't seen enough results yet to know.
That is my biggest issue with shipping, it should be paid in advance 100% it rly sucks if the Gold runs out during it, way more than for the other activities
As far as I can see efficiency of each worker is (n+1) where n = job rank. Wages are a range that increases exponentially and varies by expertise type. So on tasks like mining and farms where you can put a bunch of people on the same task, it's more efficient to get a lot of level 1 or 2 workers to save money until your ability to supply them with resources is sufficient.
thanks for the video ZD I been loving the new league, jumped into town after completing each ACT. I also assumed that this would be your town/hideout as well
Everything about this patch is fantastic it feels so good. If they don't add this to the core, they will be losing out. Iv played on PC since about day 1 and this has been the best league mechanic iv played. This makes me look forward to poe 2.
I can’t explain how refreshing it is that this league mechanic is mostly intuitive if you just read a bit. I love that I’m not spending weeks learning how to do a single mechanic
It would be SO fun to be able to decorate and edit kingsmarch like your hideout by putting all the npcs and decorations everywhere. Wow. What a league!
i actually need it to go core. My remove map tabs are overwhelming. my sheer amount of maps i cant run is insane. the fact that some npcs can actually get rid of them is BIG!
Dl'ed it and played this for the first time over the weekend. I had a blast. My first ARPG was D4 and then Last Epoch and I liked being able to use a controller and a mouse as needed in those two. My only gripe with POE is having to settle on one or the other when it comes down to input type. Small gripe I guess but moving around with the mouse feels "odd" for me.
As someone who plays one out of every 2-4 leagues, this is the most fun I’ve ever had with the game, I normally quit because the game has (had) a lot of QOL problems in my opinion, glad to see they ironed out a lot of the issues that I personally had with the game, plus it’s nice to play melee and it feel good for once.
I do want there to be workers moving around the town just so I can see them do stuff, depending on the workers you apply. Its just aesthetics, but it would make the town look busier.
The specialization options makes the player economy super robust. I think it also opens up more endgame to more players (like me). I'm not exactly the best at mapping and gearing so this slow but sure access still has a whole lot of gameplay for map slumps. Yeah....neat gameplay loop. Cant wait to see better players go nuts with the market mechanics.
custom notifications would also be great: for example I'm waiting for 500 orichalcum bars to fill up to i can start a shipment ive been waiting to send out. so we set a custom notification for 500 bars and as soon as I reach the threshold it gives me one of those popups
just a note on smelting and mining, you're workers will delegate to mining and smelting other ores if they run out of the one you select. this makes it alot less tedious when you want to log off and dont want to have to micro delegate workers but its imporant to note that you need some ores for early upgrades so need to make sure they dont start smelting those ores. (EDIT : nvm you mention this quicly after the smelting part, apolagies)
My second ship ever out to ngakanu came back with only 1 unique weapon and some bubblegum and no runes. Weapon was some 1 hander hammer that was level appropriate (20++), shipment was a mix of crimson ore and bars and ori ore and bars and a bunch of wheat. Total shipment value was 400++.
The addition of gold to Path of Exile was one of the most natural things I've ever felt, which is extremely weird because I've always been against the idea of Gold. I think the reason behind this was due to Gold actually having a specific and very non-intrusive purpose. If you play the game and map regularly, Gold is not an issue. If you're a bot in the Auction, gold is a very annoying thing to build around. The league mechanics in maps are so quick and they never feel like a chore because of how quick they are. I absolutely love it.
I'd like to see the value breakpoints, I sent one 50k value fleet just to a random place and got virtually nothing back, I did use a lot of dust and got quality anointed gear, it was all crap though, and one chaos... a cheat sheet of all this will be very useful.
The main negative I am looking at is the timers, they are very long and favour large investments, you're heavily incentivised to keep playing hours long just to support the town and get more timers on cooldown, then move towards the upgrades... It's like a digital pet, you better not forget to feed it or it will stop working!, now don't forget to take if for walks.. train it.. play with it...
The Currency Exchange needs to be drag'n'dropable. When I have a Card in my inventory, i should be able to pull it into the "What I have" window and not be forced to search for it.
If you want to get the more multiplier on your shipments but you don't want to spend too much precious disenchant dust, just put 150 dust, it basically more than doubles the rewards and the more dust you put on, the less value you get from it, 150 seems to be the minimum amount to get maximum loot.
I sent a shipment of just Blood Iron bars that fulfilled a port's request and got back solely currency items. It's possible that their reward is not always armor, although it also occurs to me that the request completion reward might have some effects like rare monsters that convert all of their drops to currency.
In the same way we are invaded by those bosses, It would be cool if we could invade other settlements as a RAID feature. Each settlement would work as a map with its unique boss. We could then loot resources and items. There is so much more to this league that can be explored, I would love a Raid Mode.
I just need to currency exchange market to go core that NEEDS to be in the base game the time i've spent not trading vs all other leagues is just mind blowing
You got too comfy in Kingsmarch > is that really a bad thing? I myself thoroughly enjoyed taking my time in Kingsmarch, learning all the NPCs and what they do, trying to optimize resource distribution and all that jazz while doing campaign.
My problem is i spend so much time working on my town i ran out of Gold to finish smelting tonight, 6k Gold an hour for me rn is no joke, and i dont have people running maps yet
As far as making it part of your ho, instead of trying to turn your ho into it, add an area that has your vendors/chests/tables/ map device that you can edit in a limited capacity. That way it becomes a part of your hideout
Thanks a lot bro! PS: I just tested the workers dont cost any while idle and it doesnt work unfortunately, they still cost gold, even though they are marked idle.
From what I've seen with mining and smelting any worker from any of the ores will go and mine/smelt if they have nothing on the tier they are set. (Lost a lot of bismuth ore before I caught what they where doing)
For the first time in many Leagues it feals like it's an incredibly useful tool in the campaign, in act 3 I did my first shipment and it gave me fully 4 linked items with pretty good stats, especially all 3 resistances on 3 items. I don't remember the last League I didn't ignore until maps(after attempting it a few times in the campaign) It feels like it was nade to be useful at all stages of the game. Not to mention the currency exchange. Finally an easy way to trade mundane stuff. I hope they'll implement the PoE Overlay trading system at some point. I think the face to face trading should stay, but accessing it should be easier than to go on a webside or use an external tool. I'm a slow player, just like to take it slow and enjoy 😅 So I haven't played around with all the mechanics yet, seems like the "gear gambling black market" us a decent thing to do in the midto end of campaign. The runes seem to be one of those mechanic that is meant for end game. Haven't unlocked mapping yet so don't know how the new additional maping system works
I've been all time doing only favoured resources and compared to my friends that mostly do one big shipments, I get same or better stuff, even if I don't fullfill whole order at once
I like it and it's the first league in forever that doesn't actually need a guide. It's intuitive.

Yeah....neat gameplay loop. Cant wait to see better players go nuts with the market mechanics.
Good video. Should be helpful once me and others can get in new league to play, going into 3 days now w/o access.. Waiting on GGG to get things fixed.
custom notifications would also be great: for example I'm waiting for 500 orichalcum bars to fill up to i can start a shipment ive been waiting to send out. so we set a custom notification for 500 bars and as soon as I reach the threshold it gives me one of those popups
Thanks ziggy, happy league start!
ziggy 😀
just a note on smelting and mining, you're workers will delegate to mining and smelting other ores if they run out of the one you select. this makes it alot less tedious when you want to log off and dont want to have to micro delegate workers but its imporant to note that you need some ores for early upgrades so need to make sure they dont start smelting those ores. (EDIT : nvm you mention this quicly after the smelting part, apolagies)
The hotkey you’re looking for could just be the map in kingsreach, it already has an integrated UI and has the info of every one of your districts
On shipping you can do a gold farm by putting low lvls with high risk to get the pirate captain to appear. He drops a lot of gold, about 5k+
Very great video explanation! Thanks for sharing!
Yeah , where is grimro when you need him
this NEEDS to be put in core. its one of the best leagues in a long time. :)
You mean they made a mechanic that keeps you playing their game? I'm shocked!
The Currency Exchange needs to be drag'n'dropable.
When I have a Card in my inventory, i should be able to pull it into the "What I have" window and not be forced to search for it.
Yooo I definitely want my hideout in Kingsmarch 🙌
There is so much more to this league that can be explored, I would love a Raid Mode.
i always try to reach the bonus reward amount, and so far ive always gotten one unique from gear rewards
This video was very informative! Thank you!
Honestly id love for this feature to be permanent but part of hideouts where your building your city in town and can decorate!!!!!
currency exchange is a bit finicky and missing some things but it's an amazing start.
Beautiful notes ❤
I just need to currency exchange market to go core that NEEDS to be in the base game the time i've spent not trading vs all other leagues is just mind blowing
Thank you, looking forward to the advanced guide
You got too comfy in Kingsmarch > is that really a bad thing? I myself thoroughly enjoyed taking my time in Kingsmarch, learning all the NPCs and what they do, trying to optimize resource distribution and all that jazz while doing campaign.
My problem is i spend so much time working on my town i ran out of Gold to finish smelting tonight, 6k Gold an hour for me rn is no joke, and i dont have people running maps yet
The perfect league doesn't exi...
You dont need to go to the npcs to check your timers, johan in your ho will show you if you click on the specific stations
All you need is the right amount of workers for the right job for minimun wage...got it!
As far as making it part of your ho, instead of trying to turn your ho into it, add an area that has your vendors/chests/tables/ map device that you can edit in a limited capacity. That way it becomes a part of your hideout
4th pull from the black market i got a Unique
yeah I was thinking that Kingsmarch needs a normal crafting bench, I spend more time there than at home now
That's a good idea, make kingsmarch the hideout!
I don't remember the last League I didn't ignore until maps(after attempting it a few times in the campaign)
It feels like it was nade to be useful at all stages of the game.
Not to mention the currency exchange.
Finally an easy way to trade mundane stuff.
I hope they'll implement the PoE Overlay trading system at some point.
I think the face to face trading should stay, but accessing it should be easier than to go on a webside or use an external tool.
I'm a slow player, just like to take it slow and enjoy 😅
So I haven't played around with all the mechanics yet, seems like the "gear gambling black market" us a decent thing to do in the midto end of campaign.
The runes seem to be one of those mechanic that is meant for end game.
Haven't unlocked mapping yet so don't know how the new additional maping system works
Guide starts at 4:30
I did include timestamps 😉
I've been all time doing only favoured resources and compared to my friends that mostly do one big shipments, I get same or better stuff, even if I don't fullfill whole order at once
