- Welcome back to another Wildlife Photography Documentary!
In this episode, we are in Wind Cave National Park, on the search for Coyote's during mating season, and end up finding a gorgeous herd of Bison! Follow along while I spend some time in nature, film some wildlife in 4K, do some overlanding in my Scout Kenai truck camper, boondock in a national forest, and just overall enjoy being in the presence of these amazing animals. I hope you all find this relaxing, calming, and stress relieving. Thank you all for watching!

So cool seeing the bison, coyotes, and prairie dogs existing together like that. Stunning! I imagine being able to stick my tongue in my nose might be beneficial… perhaps not socially acceptable though. 😅
Haha thanks! It is really awesome to see for sure! And man, that would make life so much easier 😂😂
Enjoying the content, Love The area you are in. I go twice a year myself, now I think I need to add a winter trip. Just a kind word, you may want to tell people that your drone footage was taken outside the National Park. You don't want to give your audience the idea that you can or that you're breaking the Law/rules. It is what it is, I sure would hate for you to get that dreaded letter from our government with a fine for doing so. I have followed several influencers that have come to that fate, told the story and corrected. You are doing a good job telling a story keep up the good work.
Thanks for the advice, I totally understand where you are coming from. It was totally taken in a national forest, just outside the park. I’ll keep that in mind!
Nice job, we enjoy Wind Cave and the Badlands, we are not far from there!!
Thanks so much! Im glad you liked it!
@@FoxandFir Can you tell me what part in Wind Cave you were parked at for the coyotes and bison, we’re thinking of taking a drive down there seeing the weather is so nice. Thanks!
I'd really love to see a room tour of your truck one day!
Thanks so much! I do have a video of when we first picked it up! I did a quick tour there! I’m also working on a 1 year later video!
Another excellent video, I always enjoy your content because it is so different from what I can photograph on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks so much! I hope to come to BC someday!
So beautiful and impressive footage. I really enjoyed. We have no wild bison in Japan. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much! Thank you for watching!
Damn, that variable ND RF adapter is really doing some work! The shots look fantastic!
Most important piece of gear that I own haha Thanks!
So beautiful. Your video and story telling is top notch. Question for you, do you shoot in 8k then punch in to 4k in post? The bison take up a nice size in the frame, obviously hard to tell how close you are in person. Cheers and best of luck to you.
Thanks for watching! It's a bit of a mix. I shoot in 6K, and use the 400mm bare, a 1.4 TC, and a 2X TC. so sometimes its 6K scaled down to 4K, or 6K cropped into 4K. So at any given time, I can be anywhere between 400mm and about 1064mm (Ish).
Great video Josh!! Thanks for bringing us along!!
Thanks so much!
Another great video Josh! I feel like I was right there! 🤙🏻
Thanks Bob! Thanks for watching!
Nicely done. Beautiful footage.👏
Thanks so much!
Wow that was some amazing footage of those bison ,great video ,also i wondered if you would have any recommendations for a budget wildlife photography lens for the canon 80d I would really like to get into photography but wasn't sure what would be a good lens to start with.
Thanks so much! Thanks for watching! And for sure, I'll give you a few options. but before we start, I always suggest buying used. about 99% of my gear is bought used, and I never have an issue. it saves a lot of money! First would be a sigma 100-400 if your budget is around $500.00, next would be the sigma 150-600 Contemporary (Dont waste your money on the "sports" version, the C model is just as good, and weighs less, and costs less). That would be had for like maybe $650 ish, maybe more or less depending on which one. You really cannot beat the range and versatility! If you wanted to stick with canon, The 100-400 II is a great lens, but you will be paying a premium at probably $1K or more. It's going to be the sharpest one I recommended, and probably the best weather sealing also, but much less reach than the 150-600. But it's a stunning lens. If I was in your shoes, I would be doing either the Sigma 150-600 C, or the Tamron 150-600 G2 (also a really great lens). Good Luck shooting!
@@FoxandFirThank you so much for your recommendations seriously really appreciate it I'm definitely wanting to stick with canon and I agree with the used gear. Will definitely be looking at one of those lens to purchase. You just got a new subscriber!!
You have mad photography skills Josh , the closeups of the bison are just STUNNING ! 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Amazing work! Do you shoot in Log? ND?
Thank you! Yup! Vari ND, the wildlife footage is shot in RAW, and the vlogging is CLOG3
Cool video. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Absolutely stunning footage!
Thanks so much!

Too cool! Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Absolutely beautiful! I love the way that bison was staring you down. The prairie dogs were so cute. Loved it!❤❤❤

I appreciate the idea that you keep coming back to a favorite place. I feel when I do that I take better photos. It never gets old.
Thank you! I like it too!
Hell yeah brother
🤘🏻
Wow. Incredible footage. 👏🏻
Thanks so much Rebecca!
Beautiful. Perfect music, too.
Thanks so much!
What a great adventure and a stunning location.
Thank you! I hope you enjoyed, it's an honor that you watched and liked It enough to comment!
@@FoxandFir If you're ever in BC, it would be good to get out.
Stick with it! I love watching your content. You are going to be one of the greats! Since seeing your Superduty with a scout i have looked at them a time or two. Right now i have a AT Overland Summit on the back of the truck with a full build out. That scout looks amazing though. Take care.
Thanks so much for watching! The scout is a great combo, but definitely comes with a pretty high price tag haha. The AT Overland Summit is such a nice option, and MUCH smaller and easier to drive with im sure haha.
It really is. I had a 4 wheel camper for a bit too and liked it. But had both at the same time and could only keep one. Big campers are "go fast" the Summit is "go faster" Not as comfortable though. @@FoxandFir
