    Good thing for silent shutters 😅. Well done. I enjoyed the deer, and the inclement weather. Thank you for sharing.

    You have one heck of a lot of patience and determination Josh!! It’s amazing, even with all of the camo you had on, and were sitting in, the deer still knew something was up. Great video, thanks for sharing!!

    Deer are a rough species to get to experience. I have never seen such a small blind. I didn't think it was big enough to sit in, but you did. Great video. Thanks for bringing us along!

    • @FoxandFir

      They really are, its such a struggle! And honestly, the blind is pretty nice. Its for sure big enough for a single person and a fairly big lens, but the view is pretty limiting. Thanks for watching!

    Great job Josh. Whitetail are hard to see and track. Very smart and skiddish. Just getting the shots you did get should make you happy. Some people hunt all season for just a glimpse of one. You did very well. The big bucks are even harder. They don’t get to be a big buck by being careless. Another great video. Thanks.

      Thanks! They really are elusive. So quiet, sneaky, and hard to find. I am happy with how everything turned out, of course we are always looking for the "bucket list" type shot, that I often forget to enjoy the smaller moments

    Outstanding videos man. How are you liking your R3 over the R5?

    • @FoxandFir
      @FoxandFir  10 місяців тому +1

      Thank you! So far, so good. The autofocus is similar, but the video capabilities are much higher in the R3, although I think I prefer the images from the R5, just for the pixels

      @@FoxandFir Right on. Yea I feel the exact same. I like the color on the R3 better as well. R5 for more detail, R3 for almost everything else.

    I have a question. I have been shooting a 500mm f4 nikon and switched to mirrorless. My option is 400 f2.8 tc or 600 f4 tc to replace it with a native piece of glass. I am leaning to the 400 f2.8 as it is a 400 and a 500 in one but I wonder if the 600 with its further reach would be better. I don’t really shoot birds but larger animals like I see on your channel. The 400 shows more environment than my 500. I am leaning that way and would appreciate any input.

    • @FoxandFir
      @FoxandFir  7 місяців тому +1

      Hi! I personally think the 400mm 2.8 is the perfect wildlife lens. For all the reasons that you shared, along with you can have 3 different lenses. For me, I add a 1.4TC and im at 560mm F4, and then a 2X brings me to 800mm 5.6. You can have the 2.8 when the light is challenging, but have the option to have 800mm with a very modest 5.6 aperture. I will always use a 400mm 2.8 at this point. Unless they come out with a 500mm 2.8 of course haha

      @@FoxandFir that was my thinking as well. Love your channel. I have a class c motorhome I use right now but am thinking of getting either a truck camper or an expedition style motorhome. They are so expensive that I will probably end up with the Truck camper

    • @FoxandFir
      @FoxandFir  7 місяців тому +1

      Thank you! I wish I could afford an expedition motorhome also, but the Scout has done very well for me while ive had it! definitely does not have all the luxury amenities, but it keeps us warm and dry haha.

      @@FoxandFir well I got the 400 f 2.8 TC so now I have to use it and see what I can do before my trip to Yellowstone. I have experience with the 500 f4 but wanted a native and faster lens. Thanks for your channel. I think you shoot the same things I do and your comments sealed the deal. I w2as thinking 600 or 400 and went with the 400
