I remember a sunday evening back in '93 at the Bluenote in NYC it's standing room only 1st set,i'm at the bar its a mix of international cosmopoliton aficionados,Jack Hooke was estatic that it was a full house the whole week like back in the day.(*jack hooke was Mongo's santamaria's agent and a producer for the Golden All stars)the original line up included Paquito D'rivera, Sax,Claudio Roditi Trumpet this line up is equally sonically powerful. Really a treat to see Andy break out the bow for that impressive intro to little sunflower🎶✊🏾🍸 Mario Rivera "El Comandante" the unsung Unsung All star in the group🌹🎶❤️💯 awesome playful solo.Charlie deserves all his accolades he's really come a long way🍸Mongo Was the standard for Afro jazz so glad that this was preserved🎉✊🏾💯 Giovanni is a village of drummers all rolled into one😅 Hilton,Dave,Andy,Claudio y Tito you left us with some great reminders of your artistry and are greatly missed by your fans and comrades in art.
Otro video increible Dayo, mucho se aprecia tu aporte! Tus videos son una verdadera joya y un sueño logrado para percusionistas en el mundo entero. Saludos desde Berlin
Wow...what a treasure to have this. Thanks for uploading. Ive been a fan of the album they recorded at the village Gate since '96 but just now thought to search youtube for this in 2024😂
Hi there. Thanks for your comment. That record was an incredible influence on me, as well. It was definitely a classic and so is this. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Hi. Thanks for your comment. It's my pleasure to share these videos with all of you. I might have more. I have a lot of videos and not all of them are labeled, so some of the stuff I didn't know I had and hadn't even seen. I'm actually just as impressed and enjoying the material just like the rest of you. I will post more things as I find them.
Hello this is a late reply didn't get the notification for some reason, for me it isn't a big deal if you upload them without the label from which show cause there is a high possibility someone comments exactly which show it was where and what year. I honestly wanna hear more of his 90s latin jazz that isn't already on youtube cause in my opinion that was peak Puente and that i can expand my Playlist.
Hi there. Thanks for your comment. And sorry for the late response. I've been taking care of some personal business for the last month or so and had taken a break from the channel. I agree with you. What I meant though was, a lot of the dvds I have aren't labeled properly and I'm finding things as I go. All the best. @@latinpercussionlover6598
