Hard to believe it's been 20 years this May since we lost this Latin legend! What an awesome spirit he had! Got to know him by hosting his Memphis concert of '96 at New Daisy on Beale. Took the band out for bar-b-q before the show. I know he's layin' down some Latin rhythms in heaven!! We miss you Tito!!

Bobby Porcelli en mi opinión el mejor saxo alto que ha visto el género Afro latino en general. No fue accidente que este gran maestro cargó la sección de saxos de tres de las orquestas grandes más icónicas de la historia (Machito, Puente, Rodríguez....).

Tito Puente was the best, when it came to Salsa, I met him many years ago at the Apollo backstage it was great.
Mellow jazz ….easy listening….full range of rhythms ….audience appeal🎉
I saw his final performance at the Library of Congress on a Friday. He died on the following Sunday! But as long as we have ears his music lives on!
