Using AI (Midjourney) to create robot (prosthetic hand) designs

- This week, I tried out Midjourney, a generative A.I. tool to create industrial design for the modular prosthetic hand (AL-78) that I have been working on.
Even though it might be good for generating reference image at this point, it still gives us viable options at the early stage of determining the aesthetics of the design.

i swear to god out of all the ai stuff i see, ai generated robots/technology is the worst. its always a mass of random shapes, circles, and tubes or pistons with not an ounce of logic behind any of it. and its always copying the people that are just as bad at actually making a design make even an ounce of sense under scrutiny. its all so worthless.

Why not rig an A.I tool up to a 3D printer? If it can come up with designs this easily imagine the functionality it can create!!
It's not coming up with any designs, its generating an image from scratch that look similar to other images with the given tags, remember the first ai generated images to go viral? Where it was a pile of shit that you couldn't make out but somehow still looked like an image of something? Its because it makes these images from scratch rather than building off of ideas it has first like a human would, in my opinion this is a pretty lame use of ai because atm it really cant do much other than inadvertently copy a specific style, like how he generates a prosthetic hand and rather than like a blueprint or some mechanical contraption or even something more like a real prosthetic hand, it generates prosthetic hands in a sort of cyberpunk style because the vast majority of images of robotic prosthetics look like that despite no practical benefit to the wires everywhere and overall the sort of kitbashed look that they have
lol not a single one of these designs is even suggesting any actually functionality, its always a bunch of random shapes and tubes.
the image generation stuff we have cant actually do 3d at all, they can only copy and replicate common visual patterns that people cant find any flaws or errors with in the 2.5 seconds they look at it.
