    Ok one more recipe for sardines. Stick with me here ok. Can of sardines drained. 2 or 3 boiled eggs cut in half take the yokes and mix 1 tablespoon of chipotle avocado primal Mayo with the yokes smash it up then take the sardines and mash them up with the yokes and Mayo and put back in the white halves. Yes deviled eggs with sardines little dill pickle on the side. So freakin good. I’m telling you just try it. 😋

    You should get the sardines packed in water, because if you drain the water into a dish and put it down for your cats, they will go nuts over it. I buy the unsalted ones and add salt and a quality extra virgin olive oil. Or homemade mayonnaise made with extra virgin olive oil.

    Jenny, I just finished my first sardine fast on Sunday. I did 3 days n lost 3 lbs. I did feel very energized the first 2 days; however, by 3rd day I was very sluggish. I did sleep well during fast and had very vivid dreams. I managed to eat them surprisingly without gagging as I’m not a fish person. The only fish I can eat is cod. I did have to dump the oil they contained and I’d used olive oil with white truffle infused along with 1/2 lemon and Celtic salt in order to endure the taste. I’d only eat 2 cans per day. I’m used to eating 2 meals per day since I’ve been intermittent fasting for 3 years now. I’d eat one for breakfast and one for dinner. My breakfast portion also included small cup of coffee with heavy cream and monk sweetener. Hey, I don’t care what anyone thinks. I’m always gonna drink my coffee no matter what and I’m not gonna do it black. Overall I felt great.

    I haven't done a fast, but I do about a can a day. I recently found and fell in love with Otter Kingdom brislings on Amazon. I'm surprised at how different all the types are and what a difference it makes in keeping me interested in eating the same thing over and over. Brisling, bone-in or deboned, skin on or off, etc. I also like incorporating kippers, unsalted fresh anchovies, and an occasional tin of smoked oysters, always making sure they're in water or EVOO. Jenny, I could never do that. You are amazing! Dr Boz also eats Sardines. I gag just thinking about it. Now what about the weight loss? Is it body fat? Is it water loss? Or a combination of both? I always lose water weight when I restrict carbs. Personally I have found through trial and error that eating some carbs(good complex carbs) around 50 grams per day works for me. Its the junk food carbs that I must avoid. The sugary carbs found in cake, pies,ice cream, doughnuts, etc etc. These food are highly addictive for me. Also for me its consistency over time. Sticking to low carb (for me) works and keeps me balanced. Its all about eating this way over a longer period of time. No such thing as doing it for 5 days. then pigging out on junk food all weekend. That does not work. If I restrict carbs to under 20 net grams I get bad constipation. 50 grams a day is something I can live with and feel energized for daily exercise.

    King Oscar sardines from Norway are also REALLY good! I just tried them yesterday and they absolutely blew me away. A little more expensive than my everyday sardines in water ($3.68/tin at the grocery store for sprats in EVOO) but so dang delicious. • @nataliajimenez1870
      @nataliajimenez1870 3 місяці тому

      That's not really a high LDL level. You can always cheat by having 75-100 g of carbs per day for 2 weeks before your next blood test. You can choose whatever carbs affect your body least. People have used stuff like sweet potatoes, rice or even Oreos (check Nick Norwitz and Dave Feldman)

      Do more research with doctors on UA-cam, LDL is not correlated to CVD. In fact, LDL under 300 is fine. The correlation is Triglycerides ÷ HDL being less than 1.5. Insulin Resistance is a higher cause of CVD . Statins don't cure anything. Most people, due to side effects, stop taking them within 5 years. Studies have shown that after taking statins for 5 years, you prolong your life by 2 months, from mild blood thinning effect of statins, not from reducing cholesterol. But, we need cholesterol and fat to regulate our hormones, boost our immune system, protect our brain and neurological system, help build muscle, and fight infection. In fact, our body naturally increases cholesterol as we get older. Your brain is 70% fat. Don't tell me shrinking your brain helps you live longer.😂 We don't have a Statin deficiency. It's a created drug for a made problem, that doesn't even solve the made up problem. Ever wonder why Parkinson, Alzheimers, strokes are rampant now. Hmm , maybe not enough cholesterol. Ever wonder why we have Statins since 1980s, smoking has been cut in half, and Cardiovascular Disease has skyrocketed? One would think cutting the smoking in half would cut CVD in half. Then statins would cure CVD all-together. Nope, cholesterol was ever the culprit, statin never the cure, other than making Big Pharma billions of dollars.

    ALDI stores in Chicago sell sardines in soybean oil with "natural smoke flavor" for about $1 per 100 grams can. I eat them with the oil and don't care about the "reasearch" that seed oils are bad because I never noticed my body reacting to seed oils - it does react very negatively to sugar, thus I am tweaking my diet towards more protein (sardines, chicken) and vegetables, less sugars (candies, fruits, milk), less bread.
