And from this scene we learned that: The Frey bent the knees (maybe implicitly) Jace got soldiers (anybody see soldiers?) They asked Harrenhal and Rhaenyra said: ... Wow
To be fair, it can take just one bad lord to ruin or raise a house. Freys were honourable looking here, but then Late Walder comes along and suddenly, refuses to commit his forces until the end of the rebellion, spawns far too many children, legitimate and illegitimate, becomes a known swindler, refuses to help his liege lord and just has an all around bad personality. By contrast, Tywin Lannister's father was seen as something as a joke, an easy going man, a man who let the Tarbecks and Reyne's rob him blind without any fear of reprisal, let his daughter, Genna be married into a now disgraced family. All of a sudden, Tywin comes along, brings about the Rains Of Castamere, becomes Hand of the King to Aerys, annihilates the Targaryens in King's Landing, has dangerous men like Gregor Clegane in his employ and his daughter is made Queen. All the while commanding massive wealth and formiddable army. His hpuse went from one of ridicule and slander to one that even the most powerful families feared and thought twice about crossing.
I have to be perfectly honest....I literally gained so much respect for Jayce in the scene it's ridiculous. I think he reminds me of a young John Snow. But maybe even better. @@bluefyre7is there a dragon police officer? Does your dragon get confiscated and dragon riding license get revoked if you get a DUI?
I know HOTD (the show, not the books) is set about 165-170 years before Game of Thrones, but it would have been incredibly funny to see Walder Frey in this scene as a baby or Toddler! 😂
I like the freys looking like actual nobles instead of the homeless squatters who took their castle in game of thrones. Especially since theyre very wealthy.
When a teenager is better than grown and old adult in terms of negotiating.
wow!! what westeros is this?? freys looks fairly decent folk for once
This was nearly 200 years ago a lot can change in that amount of time. Some families can become better or worse.
Walder is particularly nasty even for Freys.
You cannot judge an entire house because of an individual.
@@ryankwon8785 That was exactly what Jon Snow believed in. One that I happen to agree completely on.
Walder Frey ruined their reputation.
And that’s how Jace won the war, beyond death.
Let's be real, Jace would be a great King
Can't believe we got to meet a young Walder Frey..
Jace look like Zoolander. Never seen him turn left....
Interesting how he refers to Daemon as his uncle and not step-dad (or grand-uncle)
He's referring to Aemond
@@DarkWRLDGmzno, he is referring to Daemon. The frey's say that they fear vhagar, do we have ur protection. Jace says yes, then adds and my uncle's refering to daemon coz the freys did not seem convinced by only his protection
@@radioactivedetective6876 Ahh, ok. Why not just say his name then? Kinda weird when your stepdad is also your uncle
Because he probably doesn't see Daemon as a father figure.
@@THEKING1300 As he's casually betrothed to his daughter. He's a literal father figure in more ways than just one. Lord Strong better show some respect 😂
They seem to have a good marriage.
Well played Jace.
Uhm... i don't think so. Remember that Jace has left without his mother the queen's blessing and he promised Harrenal when it belongs to daemon whose loyalty is doubted by the Blacks themselves: what if he refuse to give the black castle up and wants to rebel against them? The freys would feel deprived of what it was promised to them and goodbye allies.
Battle of the Gullet.
Casualties: Jacaerys Velaryon
And from this scene we learned that:
The Frey bent the knees (maybe implicitly)
Jace got soldiers (anybody see soldiers?)
They asked Harrenhal and Rhaenyra said: ...
Wow
River Houses: “We’re waiting for Grover to declare. Honor binds us.”
Freys: “We want a castle. The biggest one.”
THIS. That explains a lot about Randyll Tarly, for instance.
Ppl are gunna underestimate Jace, he's as ruthless as Daemon he's definitely a real Targaryen and being a strong helps
Why do I keep thinking 'Blue Steel' while watching Jace negotiate.... lol.
This is how Freys are supposed to behave. Watch and learn, Walder.
I hope Jace survives this whole thing
He doesn't.
I have to be perfectly honest....I literally gained so much respect for Jayce in the scene it's ridiculous. I think he reminds me of a young John Snow. But maybe even better. I have fallen in love with this actors ability to speak the way he does....So seductively . Absolutely amazing. And then in the end scene with his mother. Another impressive scene. Well done!!!!!
Of all the decesed during the Dance, Jace was the one I grieved the most cause indeed despite being a bastard he was the most competent and you could see that he surely would have been a great ruler.
His death made me feel the same that the death of Baelor Breakspear, who also ironically despite being a trueborn Targaryen was also seen as suspicious for having the dornish phenotype.
House Frey is young house, they always been look down on.
he looks like hes rocking blue steel 24/7
Jacaerys is a GOAT
I like how he mentions his own dragon like it compares to Vhagar lol.
I like how Lord Frey is boorish and unsophisticated (a nod to his descendant no doubt) but he and his wife are as sharp as a tack politically and seem to understand every eventuality the war will yield.
What is with the Freys and their obsession with Harrenhal? Walder also demanded Harrenhal along with a marriage pact between one of his daughters and Edmure when he sent his sons to treat with Robb at Riverrun.
Oh shi*, I'm rooting for the guy, this will not end well for me
Bro is mewing so hard in this scene LOL
Jace has Laenor's swagg!
If anyone knows anything about Westerosi Location, then the negotiation to let The Stark's pass The Twins is beyond stupid. Pass the twins and go where, Riverrun?
Why are they meeting on the bridge? Shouldn't they be doing it inside or something?
Why is this so hilarious
He reminds me of a smarter version of rob stark
What is the name of the soundtrack in the end??? 🙏🏼❤️
"Nor three".
Still not sure if he's quite sharp or quite dumb
That is one ornate ass table
House of Mewing
What does mewing refer to?
@@radioactivedetective6876 I just looked it up and apparently it's slang for an alleged technique to reshape one's jawline by holding the tongue in a certain way. And I assume it's a joke based on Harry Collett's (Jace's actor) more pronounced jawline and pouty lips.
@@destructiveraider Thanks. I just couldnt understand all the mewing references in the entire comments section... Kind of a weird thing/word to become popular
@@radioactivedetective6876 No problem! And I agree, I don't really use slang terms or keep up with the latest trends, and I'm honestly glad I don't, haha.
@@destructiveraider ya, I can never stay up-to-date
Jace is proof not all bastards are bad. Can't say the same for Alice that witch
But then what happens when Aemond comes by on Vhagar and has the same chat with them?
Vhagar being "leagues away" doesn't mean much really as long as it's alive... otherwise, even Luke on his tiny dragon could've just gone around anywhere that Vhagar wasn't and conquered it all!
