I own one of these things. Lots of fun. Tough. Don't get it too wet tho.I use a USB port plug stopper dealie that came with a battery I have to keep gunk out of Ollie's port. Yes yes, I know, lots of that's what she saids

Your video mix is insane! Your voice is at a 6 and your music is at an 11! You never need more than ~15% on background music man.

I still have no clue on the differences between the Darkside and the reguar version. Is the color the only difference?

the tires that already on it are meant for out side. they look cooler and go faster.
and btw you can change the led light's colour.

hardly any difference between the tires, no matter what tyre you have on it's going to go 14mph top out regardless.

Does anyone's Ollie make rattling noises when it moves around? Just got mine today and I straight away noticed a concerning rattling coming from Ollie!
+Muneer Abdullatif Hi! I haven't used it in a while, but yeah, I noticed a sound when we first opened it, especially at low speeds. I don't think that it was a rattling...more like the motors working or something. I think that it's normal, but don't know how bad your rattling sound is to compare. Hope this helps.

I was attracted to your channel by this review, because I just got myself an Ollie Darkside. But I like your reviews, and I would like to suggest another toy to review. How about an Ozobot Evo? Great for kids, two types of coding, control via phone or tablet, and Ozobot is trying to address the education market. The Evo is a VERY cool robot that you can work with on a small desk or tabletop, and there is a LOT to do. It is a wonderful learning experience. How about a review?
I had an ozobot. The novelty wore off quite quickly. It could just follow lines. But I had no phone back then... Also the ozobots had an issue with being fragile. One of the wheels stopped working, despite cleaning it.
@@NA-xp2cr It is distressing to hear about the fragility of the Ozobot wheels. I am familiar with the problems regarding the USB connector coming loose on the earlier model Bit, apparently there were some manufacturing issues. But the biggest difference between the Ozobot and the Ollie is where you play. The Ozobot is perfect for table-top or desk-top play, where the Ollie needs space to run. The program-ability of the Ozobot, I like the Evo model, is also better than the Ollie. If you just want to play, Ollie is cool. But if you want to LEARN, Ozobot is better.
I am so sorry that Anki went under, the Cosmo and Vector robots were so super-cool, and their Overdrive sets were outstanding (each car is an autonomous robot in it's own right.)
All these robots have some same basic features: Two motors independently controlled to move and steer, BLE communications, rechargeable batteries, accelerometer and gyroscope, and fantastic coding in the processor. Sphero just raised the bar again with the RVR and the Misty. It is a great time to be a robotic toy enthusiast!

Shame there's no live camera for paintball or Airsoft , definitely would have thoght of purchasing
Do your research my dawg, you can buy a cool little slip that mounts a go pro to the top, pair that with a wireless screen and bam you’re done! Although I’m sure it will be shitty resolution but as a rainbow 6 style air soft drone it will definitely work, as it can go like 14mph it would actually be sick in a game like that 😂

+Nathaniel Lol Great question. I'm not sure. I only have iOS devices. I checked Sphero's website and it says that apps are available for App Store and Google Play and compatible with iOS and Android. Best to contact Sphero directly to make sure it's compatible with your device. Sorry I couldn't help more.

+Sean Kettler (Spazzmaster3000) Good question! I actually have no idea. The Dark Side Ollie is the only one I've had the opportunity to use. It might be best to ask Sphero directly or someone that has reviewed both of them. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

+1000 Subscribers with no video`s - I have no idea. You might want to check out Sphero's website or contact them directly.
+finn2214 Usually, no, because the USB charge port is in open view and water can get in. However, there probably will be a nice fix. If you can find a little micro usb cover that you can pop in the ollie's charging port, you can probably block water from entering into the ollie. Just don't quote me on that cuz I havent tested it yet. Besides, this toy isn't meant for going on water. Sphero can, though.
All these videos of people talking about whats in the box, setting it up, naming it, etc but why are there no videos of people actually using it. Not just quick shots of it doing one jump or spinning but someone using it nonstop doing a demo? I am concerned after just ordering one then reading some bad reviews on amazon. Im concerned about constantly having to recalibrate it after every spin because thats the biggest complaint ive read. None of these videos mention they have no reverse and have to turn around so if you are flat against something and cant move forward its stuck? i just ordered one and now cant cancel the order even though it hasnt shipped so im alittle concerned about the truth of these complaints ive read?
I've had this for two days. If it's stuck on something, turn it to trick mode and put into the reverse mode. When you do this (flick up on the trick pad) just steer it towards you and it will drive backwards until you flick up again.
