Well done on this video mate! I still have my Original Ollie and my Darkside Ollie. While my original is a little clapped out thanks to the battery being a bit worn, the Darkside model barley got used so it’s has a more more energy to it. Even so, both bots are still amazing lil droids and it’s a massive shame Sphero abandoned them in favor of educational only stuff. Thankfully the Ollie’s can be taken apart so failing batteries can in theory be replaced. Maybe someday someone should start installing modern batteries into these guys to boost their lifespans because the Ollie’s deserve more love than they have gotten given just how impressive they really are. Powerful, fast, robust and chaotically fun, it would be AMAZING to have seen an Ollie built in the translucent Sprk style plastic. Like Sphero could have easily made an Ollie for education that could do experiments on velocity and the like! Huge missed opportunity.
Thank you for clarifying that, I wasn't too sure on the whole thing and I do apologise for the mistake. I'll be sure not to do it again in other videos on it.
Hi I think your case look absolutely awesome and I wanted to know how you fitted those led stripes in there? Did you need an adapted? And I have the gtx980 does it fit in the case you have? Thanks!
+Best2b Played Yeah I'm sure it would, I have a 770 SC with reference cooler so you can judge the size from that. The LED strips go along the bottom below the NZXT logo, I think it's 60cm long. The power for the LEDs come from behind the stealth cover. Hope that helped!
Thank you for your answer btw! I absolutely love your build and made it as my example! Ive got another question. Is the Corsair H-100i really worth it?
Best2b Played It's a molex connector to the LED adapter. I just use the molex connector that was already on the SATA power cable from the PSU to plug the LED adapter into. I would also recommend the H100i without a doubt - I have had no problems and I get insane temperatures even with an OC. And thank you, it's awesome to hear!
+AppleTechBeast Ahh ok I see. Yep I have this kind of connector on my psu. I like the feature that you can switch the colours of the corsair h100i :D a friend of mine told me that air cooling is better than liquid cooling but he tells a of of bullshit any ways. If you had no problems than I will believe you ;) thx for your answer. Oh I actually found you channel due to the benq monitor in your video. I'm thinking about buying that as well as it seems to be pretty good. Could you recommend me the monitor or isn't it worth the money?
I watched your video bud, very in depth good job, i do wish you showed more actual use of the device maybe both inside and outside. Since i have pets and think the waterproof feature is really a plus for the sphere 2.0 so went with that. Wondering do you know if you can use the BB-8 app with the sphere 2.0?
Thank you, and I'll try to get more of the devices in action in my next reviews. If you take a look at some of my other content on the device you could take a look at my 'testing the Ollie' video. I'm also not too sure how the BB-8 application works, I'd take a look at the Sphero website.
+AppleTechBeast The BB-8 is not compatible with the sphero apps, havn't been able to get an answer from anyone on if the bb-8 app will work with the sphero 2.0, i will know friday though as my new sphero will be here. I just ordered an ollie as well, i used to skate and have a ramp and think the sure speed of it will be fun just worried about durability.
Ollie for speed, sphero (water and polycarb shell) for pets and programming for kids. I heard the ollie is hard to turn at high speeds due to the design, it flips very easy. I don't have one myself but most likely will get one to play around with.
I got the bb-8 for my birthday and ended up returning it because the head would fall off to easily. Exchanged it for the dark side Ollie and freaking love it. The bb-8 was definitely a cool device but I wanted something I could drive the crap out of and unfortunately the bb-8 was too sensitive.
Those are not drift tires they are turbo tires drift tires are when there's no tires on and its the clear plastic. Not trying to be rude just telling you it
He says you need to buy drift tires on original ollie lol you cant buy drift tires cause you just remove the tires and in the settings you active the drift in the phone so ollie will know what you want
got my dad both the original and darkside ollies for christmas this year thanks partially to your reviews. thanks.
+Julie Fargo That's awesome! I'm sure he'll love them.

The smooth tires are turbo tires, the drift wheels are built-in. Also you can change the handling from drift to tight, you should try it out

+AppleTechBeast this comment wasn't meant to be harsh! XD just hoped I helped
iFrostyXD I didn't take it as that at all, no worries. You sure did!

AH ok thx! But you had to connect the LEDS with your power supply didnt you? And if so did you need an adapter or so? To powert the LEDS?
Thank you for your answer btw! I absolutely love your build and made it as my example!

+Benjamin Landes so, is the Ollie or sphero better?!

thanks for the review
are you planning to get the BB-8 Sphero or is Star Wars not your kinda stuff?
I got the bb-8 for my birthday and ended up returning it because the head would fall off to easily. Exchanged it for the dark side Ollie and freaking love it. The bb-8 was definitely a cool device but I wanted something I could drive the crap out of and unfortunately the bb-8 was too sensitive.

Is it waterproof or water resistant?
+Random Reviews & Games I'm not entirely sure but I'd be inclined to say neither
Random Reviews & Games I think it is splash resistant
Those are not drift tires they are turbo tires drift tires are when there's no tires on and its the clear plastic. Not trying to be rude just telling you it
yeah I was shouting at the screen
6:10 is "it cost about 20 or 40 quid" now it cost 100
No the original Ollie has drift tires you just take the nubby tires off
It's bare wheels, not tires
Is it water proof
It isn't waterproof unfortunately, although the original Sphero is.
No the standard is splash proof
