Elsie and her musicians put on a quality show. Her energy and voice quality are outstanding. Make the effort to go and see her. I doubt you’ll be disappointed.
Saw Elkie when she was in Vinegar Joe many years ago with Robert Palmer absolutely wicked live band shame the label didn’t push them and their records more ,deserved greater recognition, good to see she’s still doing what she loves
I did a gig with Vinegar Joe in the early 70's and met Elkie, she enthralled is with a tale about her early days, I was so glad when she made it and went to see her at the NEC in Birmingham, so great to see she's still performing.
I had never heard if Elkie the first time I saw her at the Coventry Theatre when she was was one of the support acts for The Animals . (pre Vinegar Joe days) I was greatly impressed
Saw Her at the Odeon Tottenham court Road in 77 She was Fab and I saw Her in the street at the Antique market at the Angel in 79 ,Had a Stretch limo and lots of minders ,But lovely Lady and a unique voice ,She feels the song as well as Sings it ❤️
I’ve been a fan since Sunshine after the Rain in 1977 ,I was 16 , I saw her in Rhyl in the 90s , idid go to see her again about four years later , but she cancelled because she hadn’t sold enough tickets, but sometime later Leo Sayer played to hafe of the theatre, he didn’t mind bless him ❌❌❌❌❌🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴
I saw her on the 21st of September 2024 at the Cadagon Hall in London to a sold out gig . She blew the roof off , Amazing . It sold out fast and another date in February was put in , that sold out fast .
Don Arden was a complete low life but I don't know if he ever ripped her off. Elkie certainly got let down by her accountant I think years ago. Had to sell up to pay a massive tax bill and lived in her tour bus for a while. She got herself back on her feet through sheer hard work.
@MostEasterlySteve They all seem to get ripped off by someone they' trust other people to look after the financial side whilst they concentrate on the music I know Steve Marriott's band small faces did then his next band humble pie also did in USA didn't learn trust no one,
Love this lady so much , so nice to see her and know she's still around and singing.. Yes!!!!

She’s the most charted female artist in the UK album EVER . She’s also known as the British Queen of the Blues
Saw her with my late wife mid 2000's Gateway Theatre Chester, she was really struggling with breathing. Glad she's OK.
I saw her last September in London she blew the roof off , she was AMAZING.
Elkie is amazing. I wonder if she remembers the tour when she had the incredible Geoff Whitehorn on guitar. What a performance.
Fabulous musician
@@Billy-h7b Geoff's work in Crawler was sensational. Totally underrated band.
She has worked with Geoff on and of for many years.
Yes seen Elkie with Geoff Whitehorn super band
A schoolmate of mine played bass for Elkie.
That wasn't Andy Brown, was it? Lovely guy and much missed.

Always loved Earl's a Winger.
@@MegaSimplysimon Earl Slick or ex footballer Robbie Earle? Please clarify.
@@eightiesmusic1984 Pearls a singer, loads of people back in the day named it that, hate football, love rugby/cricket.

Wonder if elkie got worked to death and ripped off by don arden like the small faces did,

I'm not trying to be funny and it's a serious question, has Ken Bruce got new top false teeth because his mouth is entirely odd?
Does it matter? He is 70-plus and mostly on radio.
