We have seen Elkie countless times. Her voice is, indeed, absolutely remarkable especially, if I might be indelicate, at somewhere slightly north of 70. Elkie is a great and seemingly underexposed British talent who brings joy to an evening out.
I have never really noticed but she sounds a lot like Carole King and the type of songs she sings sound like they came out of the Carole King songbook.
She has been compared to Janis Joplin Tina Turner , she is also a great Rock singer ger and a jazz singer , blues singer. IMO her voice is more powerful than Carole King .
@Jake-jr2zh I can see the comparison to Janis Joplin but not so much Tina but to even be mentioned along side those legends is an incredible testament to Elkie Brooks

Carole is great but Ellie has a better voice.
@@peterallen2904 commercially Carole has enjoyed more success and critical acclaim. I do love Elkie Brooks but I am team Carole on this one.
Saw her in Jersey some time ago She stands alongside some of the greatest without a doubt The voice is incredible and mesmerising All day ❤
