Next time your grocery shopping, p/u a loaf or two or three of marked down French bread. Take it home, cut in slices, butter and add garlic powder, then put in 5 portions in foil and pop in freezer. You won’t need to buy Texas Toast as you’ll have home made in freezer. Debi in Vicksburg, MS. 🥰🥰
My local Walmart has upped the prices on their bakery bread. Has yours? I was shocked lol it is $1.78 for French bread now. $1.20 marked down. I had sticker shock. So adding the butter and garlic, Italian seasoning, it’s almost the same price to buy the frozen garlic bread for $1.98. 🫠
@@reginastratton5031 Not anymore in East TN where I live...yesterday it was $1.48 for a 14 oz loaf...and we pay 10% sales tax on our food too instead of paying state income tax.
When I am tempted to eat out or get drive thru, I remind myself of how many groceries I could buy with that $30-$40. Then I drive home and fix a quick meal. Tacos are my go-to. I always have cooked taco meat portioned out in the freezer. Debi in Vicksburg, MS. 🥰🥰
This JUST happened with me, I went school shopping and decided to grab something on the road I was IN LINE. I removed myself from the line came home and made something
We are in the same place as you. Trying to stretch what we have. At the same time trying to not eat the same thing all the time. We usually get the same items from the food bank but change up the few extras we buy to make new things.

I absolutely love, love your budget meal videos because you not only save money, you fix "normal" food that people will eat. Thanks! Keep bringing them on girl
Wow never thought to make enchiladas with the taquitos. Love the idea. I am in Bulgaria so we don’t have those here but I just passed it on to my daughter in Texas. Always happy to see your videos pop up. You and your family are such a joy. Take care 🦋
Yes!!! I would've never thought to do that! DEFINITELY have to try both the chicken with the green sauce AND the beef with the red sauce!! 😋 Thank you Brooke!!! Please keep the videos coming!!! I'm addicted!!! And I'm learning SO much!!! ❤️❤️
OMG 😱 my head exploded!!!!! You are absolutely amazing!!!!! Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought to make a plate of enchiladas using those taquitos. I could not get them ordered quick enough on my Kroger order and picked it up this morning and made a plate of enchiladas for lunch and had leftovers for dinner......... All because of you!!!! It's never too old to teach this 64-year-old dog new tricks!!!! Love your videos can't wait to see them. I'm always learning something from you.
I went nuts when the lady said $36 at Taco Bell Friday. It was a spur of the moment idea and late. Had birthday party to go to. I literally freaked. We do not eat out and I was shocked at the prices. It will not happen again even if we have to eat a grill cheese with canned tomato soup. 🙂 Had to go to Aldi to get frozen peas and broccoli. Walmart & Kroger were out.

It's costs $80 for our family of 8 for fast food and $160 to go to a sit down restaurant. Prices are ridiculously high. Thank you for sharing your meal ideas.

Thanks so much for the ideas - I'm trying to cook more at home and these recipes all looked really good. My quick go to meal is eggs shashuka - it's just eggs poached however you like in a tomato sauce. Top with some feta or other crumbly cheese and serve with salad and some pita bread - it's yummy.
I liked a Debi Morsette’s idea for garlic bread. We used to butter two slices and add sliced cheese for grilled cheese, then freeze it. It can go from freezer to griddle or bake between two cookie sheets for a crowd. Can you tell I was a lunch lady? 😁
My family love your recipes! My kids favorite 'broke' meal is a pound of shaved chipchop ham sauteed in butter. Add bbq sauce to taste. Serve on a toasted bun with a cheap box of mac and cheese. Your ideas / recipes never fail to please my family❤❤❤

The lady took everything out and chopped a little fine put in bowl added half the dressing and made 4 wraps and cut in half put in prep containers and lunch for 4 days really inexpensive. Added some snacking veggies and it's complete.
If you flip your knife over and use the tang side to scrape the cutting board into the pan, your knives will stay sharp longer. A trick I learned from a pro years ago and it has worked very well for me.
I'm in Kansas, we used to have a little hamburger place here, and they made burrito salads. I never even heard of it. But I tried it and it became one of my all time favs on their menu. Sadly the place closed, but we now make our own. Frozen burritos(the kina like you'd fry) ,but i spray them with pam and bake them. The sauce is chili,. Burritos, top with chili, lettuce, cheese,( sour cream ,black olives,. Tomatoes or picante sauce , onion etc to top it off. This is good to use up left over, salad, chili ,etc. I really like them and they are filling.
I have an idea I was wondering if you would be willing to go out to a typical restaurant like McDonald's or Wendy's or Taco Bell or wherever one night with your family and just get what you would normally get and see how much it costs and then take that same amount of money and go to the grocery store and see how many meals you can get out of it for the same price as one time out to eat. If your total out to eat is $38 then you would spend $38 at the grocery store if it's $23 then you'd spend $23 at the grocery store to see how many meals you would get out of the same price as one time out to eat

I'm a loner, and love that these meals last all week. I usually cook up 2 for the week. Thx for such great home & yum cooked meals and cost saving
Great ideas Brooke!! So much cheaper than eating out. Good job!!
New to your channel, nice and quick meals ideas 👍 thanks for sharing🌺
Great recipes! We also use the sausage with scrambled eggs and toast.
Great video Brook! I always seem to watch when im hungry! Lol
I appreciate U & ur adorable family very much. ❤🎉❤🎉
All very good looking meals.
You sure gave me some inspiration with this video. Thank you.
Heat your tortillas first. You can heat them in the microwave; takes about 8 seconds a side.
These all look so good kiddo!! I just don’t know how you can feed your growing family with only like one helping each. When my hubby and I was raising our 4 kids, I would have to have at least double these meals. I know because they would have loved all of them!! You are precious!! God bless!!
Yummyy. Oh my those baby chicks are so cute
Hey sweetie pie, I LOVE your recipes! One thing though, watch serving hot food on the styrofoam plates because when you add heat to them theres a chemical called styrene that will leak into the food. Styrene is carcinogenic. Love you though oxo
