Can we do some episodes of letting us tell you what we have and you telling/showing us what you would create with it?! I think that would be soooo helpful and fun!
People remember to get cooking utensils & gadgets for house warming gifts & bridal showers. I would really like to see what you would do if you were making a “pantry” basket for these occasions. You could do a few videos with different dollar amounts. I would have loved a gift like this when I started out on my own!
Brooke!! PLEASE GIVE US A RUN DOWN OF SIMPLE PANTRY ITEMS. I know u say it but I’d like to see it ; it will help me sooo much. Just a rundown!! Ty ty ty , Brooke!!
I wouldn’t call it an emergency pantry, just a working pantry. You want to use that stuff regularly, not just when you are low on funds. You are so right to stress how important it is to keep a stocked pantry!
rice in your meatballs is from “porcupine meatballs” an old school pressure cooker meal which is one of my dad’s only specialties. I can’t believe everyone on earth hasn’t made it on tik tok yet lol. It involves tomato soup minced onions par boiled rice and ground beef. Best over mashed potatoes.
Hello from England, prepping is not huge over here however since I was a child I was taught to have a well stocked pantry and make sure you budget and stock up when you can. My family has never gone without even when we have had nothing. Keep up what you are doing lovely lady doing an amazing job xx
I love how your men love you and hype you up. I can only recall MAYBE 2x one of them didn't like something and that's pretty freakin awesome! I only have sons myself and while i always wanted a girl, there's something special about being the only woman in the house. On tv the other day, somebody said that as mothers we raise our daughters and love our sons. It sounds wild, but i think it may be true. Being a " boy mom" is special.
Young lady, I could eat that entire bag of green beans!! They are my favorite. I cook bacon crispy, drain some of the grease and stir fry the green beans. When ready to serve, I crumble the crispy bacon on top. DELICIOUS, YUMMY ❤. WHAT you heard about the minute rice is correct. You can use any ground meat, add the minute rice, your seasoning and make your meatballs. I call them porcupine meatballs 💕🙏🙏
My grandmother used to make porcupine meatballs in her pressure cooker (this was decades before Instant pot). She always used ground beef and regular rice, not minute rice, and they turned out so yummy! She would make a gravy and serve the porcupine meatballs with the gravy over rice with vegetables on the side. Such good memories!
My Neighbor showed me this a few years ago and our family loves it. It's cheap, and easy, a 1 pot dinner. Brown 1-2 lbs of hamburger 1 can of refried beans 1 can of Rotila 1 package of chili mix 1/2 to 1 whole chopped up onion mix it all together with the brown meat Searve with Heated tortillas You can add anything you like but fill and roll up to burrito If you want add lettuce tomato, sour cream and cheese on top We always called it Dog Food. But it's really just beef and bean burritos But there so easy and so good Hope you try this because the kids will give 2 thumbs up for this...
And leftover rice can be used if you don't have Minute Rice lying around the pantry. The ends won't poke out like the other though so it does kinda spoil the visual effect.
Please show you followers how to keep green onions growing in a glass with a little water, fresh greens for free after the first initial purchase. Great looking meal. ❤️😁🌹
Binge watched all 8 "low budget meals every store". Brooke, awesome job! That was a great series, really liked what you made on the random budget amounts. Five gold stars!
A huge tip on meatballs/loaves - my grandma taught me to use oats to bulk these up. They hold onto moisture very very well, add fiber and complex carbs (keeps you full!) and they’re dirt cheap. * We always topped our meatloaf with ketchup and brown sugar. Simple, but amazing!!
You can even add it when making burgers. I add a quarter cup to a pound and get 5 burgers instead of 4. Yay for extra servings. My husband likes to have a leftover burger for his lunch, so it's perfect.
I want to see you go out to the garden, bring stuff that needs to be harvested inside, prepare them for preservation, and make dinner. I love that you roasted the green beans. Seseme oil is wonderful stuff to have in hand if you want an Asian flavor. You might consider getting some for your pantry.
This looks better than a lot of restaurant meals that I've had. I love meals that look pretty and I have all these ingredients so that's what we're going to have for dinner at my house. You and your family are an absolute joy!
Brooke you’ve outdone yourself on this one! Can’t wait to try! Your beautiful self shines through in all these videos and you’re doing such a service by sharing!!!! I adore you!! ❤🌷🌷🌷👍🏻
My prep pantry cam in handy this weekend. Praise God! Emergency is the word. Every Tuesday morning Kroger has HUGE produce markdowns and bagged 99c bags of produce. YES! They still keep up to 5 days. It doesn't matter what it is. That will be this weeks produce for dinners. 🙂
Definitely check out Porcupine meatballs! Definitely yummy, not expensive and the whole family loves them! We use tomato soup instead of tomato sauce for the gravy ( and put a little sugar, ketchup and pepper to season it) and serve over either mashed potatoes or buttered rice!😊😊😊 Blessings over you and your family😊😊
An idea I'd like to see would be showing the different meals you could get at a specific store if you have 3 different amounts like 5, 10, or 15 dollars. Thank you for the content.
Those meatballs look amazing! I like how you showed using cornstarch as a binder. You are so awesome. Love all your videos! Thank you for sharing and have a beautiful, Blessed day ❤
❤ another great meal. A can of pineapple would be great in the meatball sauce too. I don't know why but I love green beans with rice. I haven't made them this way, but you can bet I'm going to try to now.... Also, preach about building up your pantry. I watch another UA-camr (Jessica Wanders) who is doing a series with $21 for a week and shows how to roll the extra items forward and build your pantry over time. You and Jessica seem to have a lot in common, but she lives in British Columbia so her prices are higher! She gardens and cans like you! I so enjoy your videos, THANK YOU
I have added instant rice to my meatballs for years. We called them porcupine meatballs. I now make my own instant rice. Just take left over cooked rice and dehydrate it. Works just like the store bought but soooo much cheaper.
That looks amazing! I watch all of your videos, you’re really creative. I’d love to see you plan a months breakfast, lunch, dinner, deserts, and snacks. Cook on sweet friend🎶
I make my own minute rice by dehydrating my left over rice. Comes in handy for those nights when I want to add rice to something or just need a super quick dinner!
Yeah I remember my mom telling me that rice will bulk up meat when I was young. Yes I agree with a well stocked pantry. I’m gearing up on living on my pantry items. I stock up on pantry items during the school year and live off my pantry during the summer time. The only food items I’ll need is fresh produce if funds get really tight I’ll go venture out to my local food pantries. I like coming here to your channel to learn how to cook Asian dishes. My question is how did you learn to make it. I’d like to add more into my cooking. I mostly create pasta style dishes mainly because that’s what is easily available to me.
Perfect execution of a difficult budget amount of meals supported by a basic pantry can be really good. Being frugal doesn't have to taste bad. Bottom line food in your stomachs has great value.❤❤
I have some ground chicken which I now know what to make with it. I have all the ingredients except for the sesame oil. Thanks Brooke, another great idea that I will enjoy making.
I went to Dollar tree and the freezer section was empty since the extra food stamps are gone people are emptying the frozen section your channel is helping people to cook for there family especially if they don't have enough money to buy for there family I am glad your doing these shows hopefully you will continue to do more your ideas are very helpful.🌍👍🌍💯🌍🍀🌍💓🌍✌️🌍👏🌍🌟🌍🍚🧄🧅🧈🍛🌍😋🌍
You could use instant rice or leftover cooked rice, breadcrumbs, oatmeal or crushed potato chips to help stretch meat for meatballs or meatloaf or burgers.
I keep having to come back to this video, because I made the sticky meatballs once just to try out and my husband loves them 😅 it is now made a couple times a month at our house. ❤️
I think you should do a $5 dinner without pantry items and then the same meal with pantry items so you can show the difference it can make.
I love this idea!!!
I like that idea
I was thinking the same thing!!
That's a great idea.
❤
Can we do some episodes of letting us tell you what we have and you telling/showing us what you would create with it?! I think that would be soooo helpful and fun!
Swear this is one of the sweetest families on YT

Thanks for the pantry idea.
Your boys are going to have high expectations in their future spouses if they go off of cooking ability alone 😂 thats a good thing. 👍 ❤
That did not look like a budget meal! That looked good enough to make any day of the wk even without financial struggles! Great job Brooke!👍🏻
A hundred years ago in GIrl Scout camp we made the meatballs with rice in them and ate them in tomato soup. They were called porcupine meatballs.
❤ sweet and yummiest ❤

My mom made porcupine meatballs too. I make it today as a comfort meal. So good and simple.
Hello from England, prepping is not huge over here however since I was a child I was taught to have a well stocked pantry and make sure you budget and stock up when you can. My family has never gone without even when we have had nothing. Keep up what you are doing lovely lady doing an amazing job xx
I much prefer these with using pantry ingredients. More realistic to my shopping and cooking.
That's $1.40 a plate! That is awsome. And no way you could get this meal anywhere for $1.40 a plate! Great job
I love how your men love you and hype you up. I can only recall MAYBE 2x one of them didn't like something and that's pretty freakin awesome! Porcupine meatballs was our go to meal when my husband and I were first married. Some weeks it was more rice than meat but it was always tasty.
Ive been watching for 6 months or so and this series popped up today....i was thrilled and watched them all!
My Neighbor showed me this a few years ago and our family loves it.

Meatballs with rice are called Porcipine Meatballs! They are delicious with Gravy!
I make my porcupine meatballs with beef rice a roni and hamburger meat.
I was coming down here to say that as well,, they are so good
And leftover rice can be used if you don't have Minute Rice lying around the pantry. The ends won't poke out like the other though so it does kinda spoil the visual effect.
I LOVE this gal!!!! So many ideas and a loving, actively involved family makes me smile! Your ideas keep me coming back-THANK-YOU!!!!
Girl, that looked like a 5-star dinner!! Plated so beautifully!!
Looks like a fancy restaurant meal.
Please show you followers how to keep green onions growing in a glass with a little water, fresh greens for free after the first initial purchase. Great looking meal. ❤️😁🌹
You are a beautiful mother with beautiful children
Binge watched all 8 "low budget meals every store". Brooke, awesome job! That was a great series, really liked what you made on the random budget amounts. Five gold stars!
I’m so glad you used pantry items for this!!! Love to you and your sweet family ❤❤

* We always topped our meatloaf with ketchup and brown sugar. Simple, but amazing!!
^^ they also work great as a binder with water, no other items needed!
You can even add it when making burgers. I add a quarter cup to a pound and get 5 burgers instead of 4. Yay for extra servings.

Bravo! This was Genius!!! I will definitely try. One note. I am Italian and we cook our meetball in the oven at 400 for 20 minutes.
That looks just like meal from the Hello Fresh meals and it is a lot more than $7! Great job!!
This looks better than a lot of restaurant meals that I've had. I love meals that look pretty and I have all these ingredients so that's what we're going to have for dinner at my house. You and your family are an absolute joy!

I do this with their meat also.
For $7 that looks delicious!!
I definitely really always have these pantry items too. So I definitely agree that these items are important when building meals day to day😊

Porcupines are the best. And we never use minute rice for them, just regular rice.
Good Morning Beautiful Friend!!!
Hope you have the best day ever!
An idea I'd like to see would be showing the different meals you could get at a specific store if you have 3 different amounts like 5, 10, or 15 dollars. Thank you for the content.
Love this idea of the game you are doing!! Way to be original! 🎉
That looked delicious. You are right, that's at least a 15$ plate at any Asian restaurant.
Those meatballs look amazing! I like how you showed using cornstarch as a binder. You are so awesome. Love all your videos! Thank you for sharing and have a beautiful, Blessed day ❤
Mom back in the 60s made porcupine meatballs in a barbecue sauce. She used regular rice and her small pressure cooker ❤
❤ another great meal. A can of pineapple would be great in the meatball sauce too. I don't know why but I love green beans with rice. I haven't made them this way, but you can bet I'm going to try to now....

@littlecreekhomestead4086 - dehydrating cooked rice is a great idea! Could you post how you do that? I would love to try it.

You could use instant rice or leftover cooked rice, breadcrumbs, oatmeal or crushed potato chips to help stretch meat for meatballs or meatloaf or burgers.
Those green beans were such a deal! 🎉🎉🎉
Beautiful!
I do the rice in meatballs for Mexican meatball soup and it works well. It’s really yummy too.
You have such good ideas that i can recreate. Thank you.
