I saw a great idea as a blessing box addition.
All placed in a lidded foil pan...a boxed cake mix, a can of sprite (to replace the egg and oil) canned frosting, a pack of birthday candles, and a pack of multi colored balloons.
I love this idea ❤
we, who watch your channel know you do this all the time out of pure love!
Brooke anyone who watches your videos would never think your doing blessing boxes for any other reason than you and your beautiful family are giving from the heart out of love and Respect for others in your community and beyond ! God bless ❤️🙏🙋🏻🌈🌈
I hate that you have to defend what you are doing! You are an absolute angel and teaching the boys to look after those who are struggling is an excellent life lesson! And I am loving your hair!!!!
The hand written instructions are a great personal touch.
Brooke, I was crying watching you and your children put the food bags together, just knowing you are helping someone is just beautiful! I am going to bring some food to our blessing box today.I love your boys they are so kind and have nice manners its so refreshing to see.😊😊
No worries, Brooke! Jesus knows your heart! He knows that you are not bragging. He knows that you are making your best efforts to help others. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 I am thankful for you girl! Keep up the good work!
It's ok to be happy and proud of what you have done, it's when you start to brag and want everyone to praise you that's when it becomes a problem, showing people what you have done and inspiring others to do the same is not sinful,
We have what is called a Community Fridge. It started as a donated garden shed, later a donated refrigerator arrived and someone built shelves. You can't really stand in it, but you can open the doors and load it up or take what you need. Some of the grocery stores have bins for people to drop off groceries on the way out of the store...and the Fridge volunteers take those items to fill the pantry too. The city gives to the fridge and volunteers shop for food, etc. It is a great idea no matter the shape or size of the space. So many people are in need these days. Bless you all for doing such a great job ad for bringing awareness.
We have a couple of those in my town too. A couple restaurants donate leftover food... it's pretty amazing
Oh that would be so awesome to have! I’d love to give more fresh products!
My husband and I get food from food pantry. I deeply appreciate people donating and helping to feed my family.
Girl, I swear you get prettier and Prettier. I love that you are letting your hair grow out
Yes, & I also love your natural color…so pretty!
I agree. She looks great!
I’ve decided to let my grey show too. There is other things that are important instead of maintaining hair color.
Agree, always pretty but glowing. Yuo and your family are good people. Thank you. I filled a blessing box today, wasn't hard to do.❤❤❤❤❤
I agree too
Brooke, you are absolutely amazing for filling up the Blessing Boxes!!! You and your family are so very kind and good hearted! Thanks for all you do! 😊 more people need to be like you!!
I think handwriting the recipe is very nice and thoughtful.
Thanks for bringing awareness. You are so right about people not asking for help but need it. This is great. Thank you for all you and your family do!
You may feel bad but your hair looks gorgeous, Brooke! You really have a servant's heart. I love that you always inspire me to be better at saving, giving and being better every day. Thank you and be blessed always, my Southerland Squad! xoxo
Thank you so much!
I love that you bring up the blessing boxes. It reminds us our duty to help each other. I take the time and make sure my kids are involved too. Thank you
I like your hand written recipe, it puts a human’s touch on it, whomever received it will know someone sat down in their kitchen and thought about them, you’re so precious and a wonderful example to the rest of us.
You are a true blessing, what a wonderful example you are for your sons.
I add a can of cream of mushroom soup to the tuna/Mac and cheese instead of peas and it’s really good.
Cream of mushroom soup makes everything tasty 😄
or you could add both only use a tiny can of peas.
Very nice & thoughtful of your family
teaching your children to give to others is a beautiful sight to see❤
God bless you
Love everything you stand for! Young families today need someone to encourage them! You show that it’s still possible to feed your families yummy meals while also prioritizing the important parts of life! Thank you for all you do! You’re truly a blessing ❤
With having to help feed my nieces 8 kids your you tube videos have been a tremendous blessing
You’re seriously an Angel on Earth. It’s an act of Congress to get help in my town, and blessing boxes get destroyed in a day or two of being put up.
Congress sucks. Or at least most of it does.
My mom used to collect food for families in our neighborhood, run coat and boot drives. She was one of a kind. I worked for meals on wheels for years; I love feeding people. You are awesome and your family is lucky to have you!
How nice that the Jiffy Mix people chipped in on you blessings!
You, my dear, have a heart of gold! ♥️👍🙏🤓
Also a good meal would be chili Mac. Mac and cheese with a can of chili. Also wouldn’t need the butter and milk.
Wow, so much! You are wonderful.
Brooke, you have a calling to bring awareness. I love these ideas for blessings boxes in my area. I am in a rural area in South Dakota.
Something to think about is also including a couple of can openers from Dollar tree. Some people do not have can openers, so getting canned items without pull tabs doesn't work for them. Nice work, especially when you dont feel well ! Hope you feel better soon!!
Brooke, you are such a blessing, please don't ever forget that pretty lady!
It's a great lesson for your children to learn how to make those meal kits and learning to give without expectation of something in return.
It made me sad to hear that someone stripped the first box you'd taken all that time to plan, build, and fill.
I do hope that the church posts "only take what you need and leave enough for others."
Brooke, you are a blessing to your family and community. ❤❤❤
Blessings to get better soon!
I’m not wealthy but if we all work together we build a stronger community. Thanks for sharing. I donate to out local shelter cause they don’t sell anything they just give food and clothing to those who need it.
What a great idea! Kids feel good about themselves when they can make a difference.
We have a community fridge. Believe it or not, My city tried to get rid of it because there wasn't a permit!!! Well , needless to say, it's still there. The city got an ear full . We are small but alot of homeless and out of work people who are struggling . Our Martin's grocery fills that fridge several times a week. And they post it to Facebook, so people know and come get what they need.
Brooke if you buy & make the same meal kits all the time, why not write down more than one recipe per page & then go to the library & make copies for about 10 cents per page. If you can type 4-6 recipes on one page & make 10 copies then you've only spent $1.00 to get 10 copies of each recipe.
That’s an excellent idea!
In Charlotte NC it's 50¢ a page for a black and white copy. Still a good idea though.❤
If they know its for filling blessing boxes, a local church might be willing to run copies with no charge ...
Brooke if you want to print off recipes and instructions you can come anytime and use my printer.
I hate wasting ink and paper too-way to not add more waste. It feels very personal with the hand written instructions.
I live in a seniors building a high-rise .. We run a pantry here for our residents .. ,When ever we have a few extras we put them there .. We also have community closet .. up here in Michigan it gets mighty cold in winter so we put warm socks and coats .. the ladies knit sweaters .....And also donate to the two shelters we have in my small town ..
You and your family are amazing! And I pray for you, because there are not enough amazing people around anymore.
I ❤you all!
Along with meal kits, personal care kits would be a good idea as well. Bars are soap rolls of toilet paper, toothbrushes, dish soap. Things like that that you can also get at the Dollar tree or Dollar general for a dollar. Those things would come in handy because you know we tend to leave those off of our grocery list when we don't have much money. And those things we need as well. Perfect ideas for people who are pension pennies
Great job. For the cornbread mix if someone has mayonnaise and no eggs or milk, I am sure you could use mayonnaise and a little water to make it. I used mayonnaise in place of eggs when there was a shortage of eggs. I had bought a giant jar of mayonnaise, so thought I would try it 🤷♀️. It was the best cake I had ever made with a mix.
Brilliant. Telling local church about this.
That first meal pancakes. Would be great with some chocolate milk mix added.
I was thinking a can of corned beef hash too but it can be pricey
Enjoy watching you. Do not think you are boasting you are helping
Brook thank you for your kindness, and shedding light on hunger
I love that you have community blessing boxes! That is a great idea
Writing it is such a personal touch
Brooke, you and your family are amazing and inspiring. One meal i put together is 2 cans of great value diced ham, 2 scalloped potatoes boxes, green peas and a 5 oz can of evaporated milk. Seems to be a favorite.
Brooke you have taught me alot of things that I had no idea how to do please don't stop keep following your heart.
I really love that y'all have these. My communities don't have these. We just have food banks. Plus the churches have food storage. God bless you.
Girl you are gods gift to people!
Just have to say - the natural color of your hair - you pull it off girl!!! Beautiful soul!!
Perfect activity to get the kids involved! God bless
💜you inspired me to search for my blessing boxes and donate to them.
This is an amazing Idea....i grow veggies and have a sign at my stand and a table at may stand saying that if in need please take what you need....I noticed over the last couple of years there have been more and more that need...I have a few customers that leave extrainey in the till as well so I started using that to purchase shelf stable Items... I'm thinking I might make the meal kits...such a great Idea!
You are a family of angels. Love you guys so much. Great 👍 job.
Love and Hugs. 💙💙💙
Kind and generous, Brooke. People who have been in need have a different understanding of how important this is. Thanks for spreading love! The world needs more Brookes!
They will definitely be blessed
Aww Brooke you and your family are wonderful. Thank you.
Take care of yourself! You and your family are sooo...sweet to save extra food for doing this. Making complete meals is such a great idea!! Bless you!
You could add a can of cream of whatever for your tuna surprise.
You are such a sweet girl, God bless you and your beautiful family ❤
You and your family are a blessing to us all, Brooke! Love you ❤HUGS❤
Blessing you all are and thank God you Re able to do this!
Love this!! Amen to all your comments at the end, Brooke! ❤
Yay for jiffy - let’s all buy it - love they helped out
I love this idea. So sweet.
My dad used to make a pasta salad that would work for one of these
Bag of macaroni
Small jar of mayo
Can of mixed veggies
Can or two of tuna
I’m 72, Husband is 66 . I’m just ready to give up. Thank you for your ideas.❤
Brooke your awesome. People will love this
Great teaching your boys to give to people with food insecurity .❤
You are a true blessing.❤
My kids and i are going to go through the cabinets this weekend and do this as well as get somethings from the store as there are some great sales this week. Speaking as someone who utilized the food banks , lentils and dry beans are in abundance as donations. I’ve received six bags of lentils one trip and I have enough canned food to give some. My mom would put the tuna and macaroni and cheese with peas together and call it tuna casserole or she’d put egg noodles, tuna, cream of mushroom soup and peas. You are truly a blessing to your community and us who watch you and need low budget meal ideas.
Feel better soon ❤ You and your family are such a blessing
You are such a good soul.....such good blessing boxes. Your hair looks great by the way.....
Watching this made my heart melt! What a beautiful thing to do to help people in need!! ❤
You’re an inspiration! Thank you for the wonderful ideas to help our communities.
love that you put recipe on bag so people know how to stretch the meal package. That in itself will help them learn and redo meals themselves to save money. Good Job!!
This is so amazing that you did this thank you for sharing this God bless you all sweet Friend 🙏🏻✝️☮️🌹🍀💜💗💐🌺❤️
You did a fantastic service for those in need. Our community just had fires and people loosing homes. A loss for ranchers with cattle. So many people are reaching. Your idea is so super.
❤️🥰❤️Brooke …I don’t know if you’ve ever looked into it, but we love our “HP Instant Ink Plan”. If you have an HP printer, you can sign up for this plan that keeps up with your ink usage and sends you a cartridge when you are getting low. We pay a monthly charge that is customized by usage. Different plans to choose from. My hubby is a Professor and Pastor. We use lots of ink too and we feel like it’s cheaper than buying those cartridges. We have the 100 page monthly plan and if you don’t use all of it, the extra rolls over for months that you might use more.
Just thought I’d share 😊
So wonderful to watch you do this with your family. God bless you!
Love all your videos ! You are correct, it's not just United States that is in a crisis with soaring prices. It IS ALL over the WORLD . I on purpose look at other countries and look at how things are here in America and I feel blessed honestly. We could actually have it way worse like those over in Ukraine. I thank my Lord every day for what I do have before me in my life. God bless you and your family !!!!
Brooke, you are an absolute blessing to your community xx
Everytime I see one of these videos I want to do the same thing! I have searched and searched and there are no blessing boxes near me...ugh. I know people need help.
YOU are such a blessing!
Prayer go out to Brooke feel better soon ❤❤❤
Kind soul ...🙏
Love watching you and your family
God Bless you Brooke.
Great ideas! You are frugal to the end! I agree ink is very expensive!❤
Dear Brooke, I like your channel and now I saw this about the blessing box. What a beautifull way to make other peoples life more comfortabe. Greetings from the Netherlands
God Bless you and your family!
Hey, Brooke! What a blessing you are to all who watch your videos. I have a meal suggestion that saved us more than once in lean times. It's just 2 boxes of Wal-Mart brand thick and creamy mac n' cheese, and a can of chili. It is SO good and filling! Hope you give it a try. 🥰
Thanks for showing us this! I would have never thought of some of those things together!
Glad that you are doing this and giving everyone ideas on this video.
Thank you, Brooke! You have inspired me. I can get creative with our family's emergency meal kits. Now if I could get rid of these darn pantry moths...😡😡😡
Terrific job. You are an encouragement for so many people. Your hair looks great!!!
Walmart has tuna size cans of diced ham that you can put in the beans and rice.
You and your family are such a blessing. This made me tear up. People are hurting. I am in the Tri Cities. My dad grew up in Talbott during the twenties and thirties. Blessings and love to you.❤
You have a wonderful heart ❤ Brooke!
This is awesome we have a blessing box at our school I have returned to school to get my GED and it sure does hep a lot of the single parents that attend I so do enjoy filling it with just things like you say from the dollar store or thur my other family members who have things in there pantries they are willing to share God Bless you and your family Brook
