This show had an impact on so many people's lives, like literally a whole generation of people who basically had their lives changed by this one show, and many people got inspired from it even in their artstyle. The show was good enough to have gotten five seasons, a movie and an epilogue series. And yes it did talk about important topics and issues, it had the guts to have queer characters and be open about it. It was a very well made show and they did the most with the time they had to develop it, especially because the story and universe were already thought about by the creator years before the show started. The show represents and recognizes many different kinds of people who needed to feel seen and feel like they're not alone in the world, and if that's pandering to you... well... then they sure did it, and did it amazingly.

My go-to food court food is Kao Mun Gai, which translates to "Chicken Fat Rice". It's a super common food here in Thailand and you can find it at just about any food court. It's rice that was steamed in chicken fat so that all the flavour of the meat becomes concentrated in the rice, accompanied by either boiled or fried chicken cutlet (I usually go with fried). It's always served with a side of light soup too, which in my experience helps keep your throat from becoming too oily while eating the main dish.
I went to a chicken pox party as a kid. One of my cousins caught it and my mom brought me to her husbands parents house where the cousins were all also staying so that everyone would catch it at once. I remember baths in oatmeal, calamine lotion, and running around with the bare minimum of clothes on and mittens on our hands to keep from scratching. X3 none of my kids have ever had chicken pox though. They all had the vaccine for it. Eta: big big shout out to Steven universe for broaching tough topics with young teens in a factual and affirming way!

when I first saw the powerpuff girls clip my first thought was parotitis (blocked parotid salivary gland) and as someone who had it 13 times over 6.5 years... not fun, but gum, hard candy, and sour candy will fix it up and one time a doctor told me to just think about food I liked to make my mouth water
*TW for parasites, I guess* 5:03 I'm not usually squeamish, but there's one time a TV made me genuinely loose my appetite: it was a BBC documentary on parasites. And intestinal worms, bad as they are, weren't even the worst of the bunch, even though often a person having them means they've consumed traces of someone's poo. The worst were the worms that through their life cycle travel through your body and spend a portion of time in your eyes. I sincerely do not recommend googling the images.

8:40 Yeah Steven universe is kinda awesome. It's kind of out of left field seeing all these wildly cartoonish scenes, and then this realistic one. You clearly weren't prepared for it lol, you were expecting to see funni cartoonish medical stuff and then you get hit with childhood trauma. I would have loved to see you react to the entire scene, but this works too
The one about the girl constantly covering for her sister at work to the point where it was affecting her own well being was quite stunning. Her sister had no idea the entire time.
@@alecrechtiene558 yeah! That's a really good one too. There's also scenes of abandonment, racism, depression, neurodivergency, I think there were some messages touching on homophobia in there, it taught you how to be mentally healthy, and much more. He needs to react to it now!
In which episode I can find that scene?👀
@@yesxalanda8505 Kiki's Pizza Delivery Service. It is a good one! S3 E13
😂
10:15 the worst part of this is all the bubbles in there 😭
like why is it carbonated
I would love to see Dr.Mike do The CW superhero shows! They get injured a lot in those shows, especially in the Flash where he practically breaks a bone every episode.
YEEEEEEEES!!!!!!!
8:20 OH. I've heard that audio everywhere and had no clue it was from Sevens Wniverse.
My favourite thing to eat at the food court at the mall is poutine, which consists of fries, cheese curds and gravy. It’s a Canadian delicacy and it’s delicious.
6:40 “oh my god he’s flat-lining!” That made me laugh more than it should have 😂😂😂
The live action faces are so grotesque and odd they're somehow funny
Lol
5:42 😐 BLESS YOU! _BLESS YOU!_
I read this comment as soon as he started sneezing lol XD
I'm 54 and I love cartoon network, but Gumball is possibly the best cartoon ever, so creative and also pretty accurate with regards to how real life works.
14:53 the fact that the guy says "Sensei" (Japanese) but then immediately references Taek Won Do as "Death Kwon Do" (Korean) makes me cackle for whatever reason
Ah yes, the funny """racist""" oriental stereotype
I was gonna say that too... they mixed up everything lol
MY INSIDES ARE POURING OUT!!!!!!!!! Definitely one of my favorite lines from the show, and the visuals always make me laugh.
Ain't no party like a chickenpox party 1:09
New fear unlocked: worms growing in my intestines 😳 Thanks, Dr. Mike!
100% 😵
Right? Feel like he normally comforts me...but if he is nervous about them lol.
I had pin worms as a kid. Not pleasant
I work at a animal shelter and see worms a lot. There not that pleasant to see either and sometimes they don’t die on the first shot of medication
Same over here😂
14:27 Imagine if LegalEagle came on in a 1-second clip just to say "It's not legal".
"That is not specific enough"
LegalEagle: "It's not."
"and too broad to be legally allowable"
LegalEagle: "Pretty much"
Schlotzsky's Large Original with peppers is the best thing to get at the food court
3:02 Actualy that whole tongue "taste area" thing get debunked years ago, we taste everything the same, no matter where on the tongue the food or whatever else touches.
Edit: he clipped it out.
Thank you. Scrolled waaay too long to find this.
yes i was looking for this comment
Hope to see this in the next corrections video, even though it's not dangerous misinformation in any way. Props to Doctor Mike for even doing correction videos.
One question, if you go back to that timestamp on the video, what do you see?
I'm asking because on my phone there is no clip after docter Mike explains the radiation thing, only the Ryan Trahan bit.
_But_ on my tv after the radiation explanation, the audio seems to be from said clip you're mentioning, but the actual video stays the same so it gets off-sinc.
_But_ (again), some comments are referencing images from this mysterious lost clip which must mean that at some point there was "video" for it that was somehow removed!
Idk man I'm just confused and want to know if I'm going crazy.
@@Cocoabunny826 It appears they clipped that part out!
Steven Universe was such an amazingly smart show in many ways.
Fun to see its medical stuff was accurate too!
The level of hate it gets from idiots to this day is still absurd. I guess the reasoning is valid but people need to get over that shit and enjoy it in a chill manner without taking it too seriously.
@@p-__ Are they explosive?
It’s shoving nonsensical LGBTQ stuff into your face and panders to insecure people and that deviates from a potentially entertaining and otherwise interesting storyline
@@claytonlatone8959 You're entitled to your opinion, but you can just say "i didn't like it because it was very gay", though I think you should work on your homophobia, it's a wonderful gay story, even for non-gay watchers, nothing nonsensical about it (or pandering).
@@OneWingedRose Exactly this. People are freaking out over nothing honestly.
Love how doctor Mike tried understanding Alan’s balloon anatomy in human terms 😂
Cartoon Network is such a childhood comfort to me, so much so that this has actually lightened up my day considerably. Dr.Mike insights linked with comedy also helped, as always ❤😂
Same, it’s like a warm hug. Now I want to watch cartoons all day
I don't watch SU, but from what I've heard, this was their wheelhouse. They delve into similar topics quite often.
13:27
Sabarro's. Definitely Sabarro's for me.
5:29 "Balloons don't have openings on their mouth."
Me, an intellectual: "Balloons don't have mouths, Dr. Mike. Balloons don't have mouths."
😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Steven Universe being wholesome and acurate in this video is bringing back such nice memories to me.
I liked it when they saw that the balloon was empty.
1:26 The fact that Mike tried to mock Dexter tho 💀💀💀💀💀
At least he didn't use Dexter's accent tho 😂

7:01 Mental note: Don’t take a sip of your drink before watching a really funny part of a cartoon. I swallowed before laughing, so no mess.
I'm glad you mentioned that itching can lead to more infections! When I was 10 I was exposed to poison oak helping clean up the yard at my dad's house, and I scratched my arms so bad I ended up tearing layers of skin in the ditch of my left elbow and developing impetigo on top of the poison oak. I was told not to scratch but I didn't think it would be that much of an issue ;; was a MISERABLE month for me
Dexter: Spends the rest of his life researching in his lab.
Also Dexter: Doesn’t know anything about chicken pox.
Hello. Good afternoon. My name is Brian López. Why do you like the synchronized swimming scene from the Dexter's Laboratory episode, "Better Off Wet"? Please let me know in the comments down below.
@@marklopez7775This has nothing to do with what I commented last year.
you’re the only doctor online that I actually physically trust with my life. A lot of shows have Verizon accurate medical seats. Mostly Greg Anatomy
The hit show in which Gregtech's infamous GregTech New Horizons has Anatomy? WOwW!
12:26 I have an ancestor/relative named Doctor and when my grandparents were tracking my family history, they spent a while trying to find out where and what he studied, only to realize his parents named him Doctor.
Steven Universe was a great show to me. I really enjoyed it and how deep it was. I was really not expecting SUF though, it got rlly deep and I was very surprised this was in a CN show
@14:30 yup, contracts can only be enforced up to a limit. A simple "you can't sue me is allowed" BUT can be overruled
13:51 ah yes "capsaicin level"
You mean Scovilles?
Dr. Mike being surprised by the deep talk in Steven Universe is so funny to me idk why lol
5:55 okay but sarah's bones are just cursed and richard doesnt have a brain and only intestines😂
I just woke up at 12:49 and the first thing I decided to do was WATCH DOCTOR MIKE😸😸
11:14; Dr. Mike, in the Powerpuff Girls, the pain from Blossom is in her gums and teeth, not in her eyes.
it tock me so long to find a comet on tppg dr mike clip ty for cometing on tppg dr mike clip you get a 👍
Steven Universe is known for being really good and hitting on a lot of things that most kids shows don't.
@@p-__ aint no way
Doctor Maheshwaran is top-notch. And she handled the freak-out from seeing alien creatures amazingly well.
Bonus points for her parenting skills, setting boundaries for her daughter, even though that is one area where she can go a LITTLE overboard.
Steven Universe is literally the worst animated show ever made. Idc about "issues theyre hitting on" its just objectively inferior. All it does is pander to fringe groups; mostly weebs. Not saying theres anything wrong with weebs, but the shows entire identity is based on pandering.
@@dillongage Just because YOU don't like the show that doesn't mean the show is bad.
@@dillongageok, you don't like steven universe and you can have that opinion, but what's with the "objectively inferior," thing?
2:33 you may know about medicine, but not about visual communication, if you pay atention even iconography in medicine and other sciences uses these types of visual analogies, not because they are real but because they are good to understand visually
Adventure Time has so many more medical scenes that are hilarious. Please do a whole episode for that!
9:20 ed edd and eddy was weird during the school episodes looks like they were in some empty void because the show only uses main characters and doesnt have background extras.
Love the vid keep the good progress ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
8:35 Is so good because it's Steven Universe! ^^

I need to see Doctor Mike react to Malignant
So much love for the editor of this channel 😂😂😂
8:09 Finders Keepers...When a doctor accidentally leaves their Rolex inside of the patient during surgery.

Steven Universe is simply fantastic.

when I first saw the powerpuff girls clip my first thought was parotitis (blocked parotid salivary gland) and as someone who had it 13 times over 6.5 years... not fun, but gum, hard candy, and sour candy will fix it up and one time a doctor told me to just think about food I liked to make my mouth water
*TW for parasites, I guess*
5:03 I'm not usually squeamish, but there's one time a TV made me genuinely loose my appetite: it was a BBC documentary on parasites. And intestinal worms, bad as they are, weren't even the worst of the bunch, even though often a person having them means they've consumed traces of someone's poo. The worst were the worms that through their life cycle travel through your body and spend a portion of time in your eyes. I sincerely do not recommend googling the images.
