- I’ll be doing pet portraits for $20 if you are interested send me a message to my Instagram @karelys.digitalart or to my email: karelys.digitalart@gmail.com
Brushes I used: Monoline, Syrup (for the whiskers)
Tricks that help me:
⁃ I don’t like to use the color drop for these illustration. I like to choose my own color because sometimes the lighting prevents choosing a good color.
⁃ I always do each part on a different layer. I like to do it this way because in the end I can change the colors of specific parts in a simpler way.
⁃ I don't focus on each color being exactly how it looks or making every detail the pet has. It's a cartoon, it doesn’t have to look super realistic.
If you try to make a pet portrait remember that you are the artist, create your own version of the pet and have fun while you learn!
For this digital art I am using the iPad Pro 12.9”, the Apple Pencil and the drawing app Procreate. The brushes used during the video are default ones in Procreate.

You are very kind to share your talent. Thank you x
Stunning I love it ! i am getting my iPad soon, and totally watching your channel for some ideas in advance !
How good is this 💖💖💖
Love this !
Fascinating to watch! I have just started with Procreate and the layers confuse me! I have a lot of learning and practice to do I think! 😃
Thats amazing✨
Amazing video! I love dalmatains ♥️
Could you do a Jack Russell Terrier with the same style as this? It was amazing! Great job!🤍🤍🤍
Could you do one of a black lab?
Beautiful! Thank you for these videos! I do have a question. How do you make the canvas so that you will have a good quality photo in the end, but also NOT run out of layers? I'm a beginner and I always start out wanting to draw a cartoon version, but then I get too caught up in the color picker, then I notice this and then that and before I know it, it's like a horrible half (crappy) realistic and half cartoon, then I run out of layers! Lol I just want to make sure I'm getting good quality, so I get nervous making my canvas smaller. Thank you!
Hi Brittany! I know what you mean 😩 In the description I wrote some tricks that help me when I do this type of illustrations. Maybe that can help
For these illustrations I use my Screen Size (2048 x 2732 px) and that gives me 91 layers. You can use a slightly larger size if you want super good quality with enough layers. Hope that helps!
@@karelysdigitalart305 Oh my goodness, that definitely helps! Thank you so much!
What brush do you use for your illustrations please ❤
Thank you for sharing your process! Can I ask why the clipping masks? I have used clipping mask before for lettering projects but wanted to know how it helps with these types of portraits if you'd be willing to share! Thank you!
Hi! I love to use the clipping mask because they allow me to change the colors in an easy way. If in the end I don’t like the color of a part I just look for the layer and change it. I make commissions and sometimes the person wants to change a color, it’s easier if I have the clipping masks. Hope that helps 😊
Hi, I’ve tried with the monoline brush with the size bar right down, but my brush still seems much thicker than yours? Do you know why? Thanks
Hi! I edited my brush to be thinner. You just have to go to your brushes, touch two times the one you want to edit and go to the Properties section. There you can edit the brush size. Hope that helps!
Can you do a schnoodle??
What brush did u use?
Monoline brush 😊
That works with photoshop ?
Do you use screen protector to draw?
Hi! Yes, my iPad always has a screen protector
hi karelys. I would like to ask you another request😬. besides the drawing of Yorkshire, which I had asked, could you draw a dog with long hair all white? like a Westie or Maltese? your drawings are always very beautiful, and these dogs (york, maltes and Westie) I can’t draw. No problem if you don’t want to, I know how boring these requests are🥰
Hi Natalia! I will be uploading a Yorkie video this week 😊 The technique I used for the hair is the same I use for all long haired dogs. Be sure to see it, I think it can help you!
@@karelysdigitalart305 ohh really? Thank you so much! 😍 I think my greatest difficulty in drawing those dogs is because they have many colors (like Yorkshire), or they have lots of light and white shade (like malts). I’m sure the video will help me. I watched a video of you and I could draw, and it was beautiful. the video is super explanatory, even without having any talk! ✨
@@nathalialeite8899 Yes I know what you mean. Sometimes it can be overwhelming choosing the colors. Thank you for watching my videos! Happy to help 😊
Just uploaded the Yorkie pet portrait video! Hope you like it 😊😊
What pencil did you use?
Hi! I used the Monoline brush 😊
Hello. , what app did you use ?
Hi! I use the Procreate app.
Hii, could you draw a yorkshire? This vídeo is amazing✨
Thank you! ❤️ That could be interesting to do, I’ll add it to my list
@@karelysdigitalart305 aah thank u soo much❤️
