This is the process of turning a photo into a digital illustration in Procreate, hopefully you can learn something and create your own digital illustrations.
You don’t have to be super precise when creating a pet illustration, create your own lines and you will see that the result it’s going to be amazing.
For this digital art I am using the iPad Pro 12.9”, the Apple Pencil and the drawing app Procreate. The brushes used during the video are default ones in Procreate.

Love it!!💕
I’m glad you liked it! Thanks for watching ❤️
It's a great artwork! I am very happy to meet your very nice art. I am grateful. I learned a lot from your video. I respect and support you.
Thank you! I love your channel 😊
I would love to make an illustration like that of my dog. You make it look so easy, but wow, I dont know if I can do it. I'll give it a try though.
Try it! Is easier than it looks. I recommend that you do each part in a different layer so that if a color doesn’t fit, you can change it in an easier way. And remember; it's a cartoon, it doesn't have to be perfect! 😊❤️
@@karelysdigitalart305 Ok, I will definitely give it a try... if necessary several tries
Haha 😂 You’ve got this!
Such a great tutorial! Thanks for making these, I'm excited to check out your others.
I was wondering if you have any tips for short hair dogs (I'm wanting to do an English bulldog) here you make jagged lines for fur to layer the different colors but i can't figure out how to make it look like shorter, straight fur
Hi! For an English bulldog I wouldn’t do jagged lines. I would draw every shape of the dog without simulating fur.
There are different ways to draw it. You can make a shape for each wrinkle or you can create the shape of each part of the dog and at the end add lines to define the wrinkles. I don’t know if you understand 😅
You should go to Pinterest and search for English bulldog portraits so you can see different styles and have ideas of how to do it. I think Pinterest is the best place to look for ideas
I’m gonna be making a video of a short haired dog soon 😊
Hope that helps! Thanks for watching ❤️
Very nice, thanks for the video.
This video is incredible!!!! I love it! Which brush did you used?
I’m glad you liked it!! I used mostly the Studio Pen and the Monoline for some parts 😊
@@karelysdigitalart305 really thanks❤️
I can’t stop watching❤️
What app are you using? Thanks!!!
Hi! Your work is great. May I know where did you get the stara background? I mean you cancel the layer and there the stars appeared. It's magic! 😍
Hi! It’s a stars brush. I just put the link in the description so you can download it for free 😊
Thank You! 💖
Is there anyway you could list your color palette and the brushes you use in the description? One more question, could you do a drawing on a dark colored animal like a calico cat, I am having a hard time figuring it out. New sub, love these cute drawings of animals ❤️
Yes I’ll try to remember that for my next video 😊 For these illustration I always use the Studio Pen in a small size to create the hair with sharp edges and the Monoline brush for parts like the eyes, nose, bandanas...
I’ll be making a drawing of a cat soon, don’t miss it! 😊
@@karelysdigitalart305 Thank you!
Hi, could you explain in detail how to make the eyes lights, in digital drawings? Mainly of dogs. I’m having a little trouble. Your drawings are really amazing❤️
Hi Nathalia!
Create a new layer that is on top of the eye layer. Draw any shape you want (it doesn’t have to be a specific shape) above the eye in white and then lower the opacity of the layer to make it look like a reflection of light. to lower the opacity you must open the layers window, look for the one with the white reflection and next to it you will see a capital N. Select N and below you can lower the opacity.
@@karelysdigitalart305 thank you very much!! will help me a lot because i’m young and i’m having a hard time with the eye. don’t know why you still don’t have the recognition you deserve, because your drawings are really beautiful!! kisses of Brazil :)

😁 thank you so much!! Happy to help!
Hey i love your tutorials but i have a problem........i want for android app so pls help me
Curious on how long (on average) does it take you to finish an illustration from start to finish?
Hi! If it’s the first time it takes me like 30 minutes but it can take more. Depends on how much hair and colors the dog has
@@karelysdigitalart305 Oh okay, thanks! I was just wondering. 😁
Thanks for the great videos!
what confuses me the most of how to use the layers without touching the other layers
It would help to know what brush you use.
Hi! For these illustration I always use the Studio Pen in a small size to create the hair with sharp edges and the Monoline brush for parts like the eyes, nose, bandanas...
What brush did you use, how did you manage layers? ok video but this is not tutorial
Hi! I create a different layer for every part I draw. I like to do it that way because at the end it’s easier to change colors if I have to. I used mostly the Studio Pen in a small size to have sharp edges on the hair and the Monoline brush for parts like the nose, eyes and bandana
Hope that helps!
@@karelysdigitalart305 thank you so much for the answer. Appreciate it. Be well🙌💕
I've been doing it wrong the whole time, i should have used my left hand
😂 😂
