Bal D'afrique is a top-10 all-time smell. Its absolutely timeless.

Fire 🔥 list. Got 1996 which is a great scent profile one of am kind, Mandarin Tobacco, Bal d Afrique, Accord Oud, Mohave Ghost.
I will, in due time, buy that last one. Sounds interesting! Peace.

Mojave ghost is my personal favorite off this list.
My favorite is Eleventh Hour it’s more fall winter fragrance
I own Sunday Cologne, Oud Immortel, Bal DAfrique, Gypsy Water, and Black Saffron but the best is I own by far is Pulp.
With the exception of Gypsy Water, I’ve had all the ones you’ve mentioned and they all are beautiful fragrances!
People sleep on Pulp. It’s so beautiful.
Mojave Ghost is my go to Byredo in the Spring/Summer. The scent trail always brings someone to ask "excuse me, what are you wearing?" I've worn Bal D'Afrique about 10 times, trying to like it... I just don't.

I tried both today, the Bal d'Afrique didn't really last, and the Oud Immortel completely lived up to it's name. Keep in mind when I say this, I'm white, I showered and scrubbed the spot in the crease of my elbow where I sprayed it with a face cleaning pad, for 2 minutes straight, to where it was turning red. The smell is still going strong, I even put on multiple sprays of something else I had after the shower (I think MAB Ganymede) over it, and it's even overcoming that. After the shower. I can't get it to come off, I'm lucky that I love the smell of that oud one. The lemon is still lightly there, but the cardamom and the oud really stick around to tie things in.
Byredo oliver peoples it was a collaboration between the two ,best smelling byredo hands down , just can't get it anywhere
BAL D’ AFRIQUE is a phenomenal scent but its staying power is lacking. I have this one as well as TOBACCO MANDARIN.
I definitely have to try more of this brand…i have Mojave Ghost and I love it

Recently discovered the byredo brand and visited their store in NYC. Loving what they offer. With that being said; i want to love bal dafrique so bad but i cant 😭😭 and i love vetiver! I cant even gift it to someone in good conscious because i really don’t enjoy it.

Jacque Fath has a fragrance called Vetiver Gris, it’s Bal D’afrique on steroids
I just bought “eyes closed” the other day.
I just received my bottle of VIBRANT VETIVER DELIGHT and it is amazing. However; it’s not that different from BAL D’ AFRIQUE with the exception of its staying power.
Which would you recommend for the best blend of scent and staying power

It's time for us to be completely honest. All of the Byredo fragrances are highly overrated. They are light , airy and have no longevity. They all smell like and perform like body spray.

The Oud Immortel lives up to it's name, I sprayed it in the crease of my elbow, and I cannot get the smell off of me. I showered, I used soap, still there. I used soap on a face cleaning pad, still there. Did it for 2 minutes straight until my white skin started turning red. Still there. I sprayed another fragrance (MAB Ganymede) over it after the shower, it's still overpowering that.
What you're saying is your experience on skin (I am guessing there), and on my skin, I'd agree with you about the Bal d'Afrique, it was really light and died down quickly. But the Oud Immortel is actually immortal on me. I'm worried that it's potentially going to scent my bedsheets at this point.
