In this video we teach you how to connect your Blink Camera to Alexa. Once your Blink Camera is connected to Alexa it will allow you to arm and disarm your Blink camera with voice commands using Alexa. You will also be able to view the live stream of your Blink Camera on Alexa devices with a screen like the Echo Show and Echo Show 5.
These instructions will work for all Blink camera devices including Blink Outdoor and Indoor Cameras and the Blink Mini.
To Connect Blink To Alexa:
1. You will need to have your Blink Camera setup and installed on the Blink App and Blink Camera connected to Wifi. You will also need to have your Alexa device setup and installed on the Alexa App.
2. Open the Alexa app and click on the "Devices Tab"
3. Then click the "+" symbol in upper left hand corner of the Alexa app.
4. Then choose the type of a device you want to install, scroll down and select "Camera"
5. Then choose "Blink" from the options
6. Click "Continue" to connect Blink to Alexa.
7. Click "Enable Blink Smart Home"
8. Sign In with your Blink username and password.
9. Click "Close"
10. Click "Discover Devices"
11. Click "Setup A Device"
12. Click "Skip"
13. Click "Done"
14. Congratulations your Blink Camera is connected to Alexa and you can now use Alexa voice commands to arm your Bink Camera or view the live stream on a compatible Alexa device with a screen.

I keep getting invalid login even though I know my password is correct. Please explain the login... is it my Blink account or my Amazon Alexa account? I don't get the 4 digit pin either. Is it a new PIN I'm creating or a pin that was set up previously?

It is your blink password it it looking for. The only way I could get it to work was to go into my blink app, create a new password, close the app. Go back into the alexa app to enable the blink skill, enter the new blink password and create a pin. Bam!!

My Blink cameras were linked to my old Echo Show 5 but quit working. Now I have Echo Show 15 and I want to set it up. Thinking I may have to reload each camera again. My Alexa App on my phone says that they are enabled but they don't work.

Hey thank you for this video - are you able to get motion triggered notifications from your amazon echo/alexa? For example if I'm sleeping would I be able to get notifications from cameras as they are motion triggered (ie if someone was at the front of the house in the middle of the night or something)

Yes you can with ALEXA but you would have to ask ALEXA to show you that camera if you want to live view it

I have multiple echo's that are set up to play music as a "group" throughout the house. When I activate the camera on my Show, all the devices stop playing music. Do you know if there's a way to keep the music playing on the other devices while viewing the live camera feed?

Thank you for the excellent tutorial but I have problems in the step when I’m going to go crazy in the Blink account. It tells me that the information is incorrect and that I need a four-digit pin. I haven’t been successful. I’ll appreciate any help

If someone is detected in the camera, will Alexa automatically open to show the person detected?
I don’t think so. If I am wrong please let me know. Would love for Alexa to “show” AND record people triggering motion sensor at the same time. It is very annoying when you get an alert that motion was detected and you tap on that notification and get a “camera is busy”, because it won’t switch to live view until motion/recording has stopped. Disappointed that Amazon set these up like this. I think all motion should be recorded and the “Show” should show you what it is recoding in real-time. I probably speak for many when I say that I just assumed that would be a given feature. I also wrongly assumed I could watch my blink cameras live feed for more than 30 seconds. Basically it’s “Alexa if you understand exactly what I am saying and aren’t too busy detecting/recording motion, can you show me a 15 to 30 second clip of the camera at my front door (after you finish loading the blink app integration for 15-30 seconds of course)?

I can’t do this if I don’t have Alexa w the screen. And I’m lost as to how I would be alerted for motion movement.
How does it record for say 24 hours?
I have my blink cameras linked to my Alexa app. The Echo Show 5 will alert me when someone rings the blink doorbell or motion. However, it won’t automatically show the video. I still have to say “Alexa, show me front door”. Is there a way to set this up so if motion is detected or the button is pressed on the camera, that the video automatically appears on the echo.

My alexa is telling me that the alexa device doesn't work and needs to be updated or re installed but it's up to date. Help anyone know how or what the issue is ??

Mine goes from the first step directly to discover devices, it doesn’t say “continue”. And if I press on discover devices, it doesn’t discover anything. The cameras are all set up and work fine from the blink app.

Guys, in the Alexa app on your phone go to devices then scroll down the whole way thru. There should be “your smart home skills” blink should be listed if it’s connected. Hit that one and launch. If still doesn’t work hit “blink skill settings and disable the function the enable again. It should work. Let me know.

As many as you want, but you have to buy one sync module for every 10 devices.

RESET YOUR PASSWORD AND MAKE SURE YOU UPDATE IT ON THAT PAGE, THEN SET ANY 4 NUMBER PIN AND YOUR SORTED!!!!!!!
