His last little look before he stepped back into the carrier was priceless - he was like, "Can I really go? Are you 100% sure you're letting me off?" 😂
My cat personally loves his carrier, I actually adopted him from a bush by throwing some temptations into one and he just walked right in. I think he thinks it’s a portal to another world cause every time he gets in it he comes out somewhere else 😂
Ziggy may have nightmares when he catnaps from now on. Possibly traumatized for life. Or a good therapy session with cat toys and a few treats could help him forget all about his grooming with Vanessa. 🐈⬛
2:00 just to add to this: I have a rescue ragdoll. We think that he was originally purchased by a family who thought because he was a ragdoll, he’d be cool with *anything*. He’s doing very well now in our kid-free home, but he still panics when he hears children outside and if my husband’s voice is too loud. After his experience with that first family (they surrendered him), he was returned to the shelter multiple times, I guess when families thought he wasn’t “ragdoll” enough (“too much anxiety, won’t come out of hiding, doesn’t want to cuddle”). It’s been almost 2 years since we took him home and he still isn’t completely healed from that trauma. But we’re getting there. So, yes, ragdolls are super chill and cuddly. But you can’t just “do anything” to them. They need respect and space just like any other cat. And it’s really important to teach your kids how to behave with animals. ❤
My Ragdoll has escaped about a half dozen times in his 14 years and every time he just sits there, freaked out by the huge “room” he stumbled in to 😂 I don’t even have to chase him, just walk over and pick him up ❤
My tuxie wanted to go out for SO LONG. So we put her in a harness and took her out, and her reaction can best be summed up as: WHERE IS THE CEILING?!?!
"They are a breed most likely to perish if left outdoors, because they're so domesticated, with little survival skills" tell me about it. My neighbors have a Ragdoll, whom they let out to explore their and adjacent gardens when the weather is good. She's a sassy fluffball, but definitely has no sense of self-preservation. Last year she went over the fance into my backyard, and I noticed her playing with something. Kind of prying it up with her paw, launching it into the air and beating it back down to the ground. Turned out it was a grass snake, which are quite common in my country (they're not venomous). Suffice to say, I was terrified for both the cat (before I fugured out it was a grass snake, and not a viper) and the snake. I grabbed the cat to keep it away from the snake and animal services were called, but the snake recovered from its shock and left before they arrived to take it somewhere safe. So yeah, Ragdolls are lovely creatures but only have two braincells max
Still an improvement over male marmalades. They all share a single braincell by way of quantum tunnels. And they are proof that you do not need to be smart or mean to survive. Just dumb and sweet. Like butterscotch pudding.
Except cats seem to shrug off some bites better than other animals. And have better reflexes than snakes a lot of the time. So I think that's an example of just a cat being a cat. But also, an example of why people say to keep your kitties indoors because they destroy the fauna.
We have some half-ragdolls. One of them is actually a decent hunter of mice in what little experience we have had (A mouse got in the house once) but the other is soooo dumb. I love her but she would find some way to die outside within a single day, I am sure of it. Neither are allowed outdoors because why would you do that to a cat, especially a ragdoll?
We just rehomed two very shy 8 year old ragdoll siblings at the rescue I volunteer with. Poor things were pretty traumatized and wouldn't come out of their hidey hole in the cat tree for months (we could tell they were eating and pooping and stuff, just not when people were around). I was so proud the first time I saw one of them out and about - it was like seeing a unicorn! Such gentle souls. I hope their new owner will be patient and give them the time and space they need.
Kitties in happy hoodies are my favorite thing about your channel. While doggos retain some shape to their head, the cats just look like a ball of fur with a periscope sticking out the top 🤣

Handsome Ziggy - he wouldn't have that problem on the backend or need a sanitary shave if he was on a species-appropriate diet. Really hates don't need to be groomed if they are fed the right diet. He was really good for his first groom. Great whiskers.

Aw, Ziggy is a beautiful Mink Ragdoll! For anyone looking to adopt a Ragdoll, note that they're not _always_ that chill. Betty is a purebred and she is very high strung and does not hang like a Ragdoll when picked up. In fact, holding her for more than 3 seconds is not even possible before she turns into a Tasmanian devil. Our Gracie is also a Ragdoll. And though she's more chill, she refuses to be held as well. Both of them have been like that since they were kittens. They do both have dog-like tendencies though (like playing fetch), which is a common Ragdoll trait.
Thank you! Yes, I had a purebred Ragdoll (bluepoint), who wasn't nearly this chill, and who would never go limp. But she was very, very affectionate and beautiful. I always want to tell people that Ragdoll cats are still cats, and each has its own personality. One wonderful thing about Ragdolls is that they tend to be long lived. My Diamond Lil almost made 20 years with me.
Fellow ragdoll owner here! Another thing to add is they are typically very clingy and vocal as well, so if you want a ragdoll but dont like those features, dont get one. But yes they are such great cats. Ive had my boy for almost 9 years now.
