Very interesting operation. I am not familiar with the reloading process or making your own loads. If this is a dumb question - sorry. Why Did you anneal the 308 cartridges? Are you reshaping them to something else?
Not a dumb question at all! The heating makes the brass more flexible so it's easier to run them through the sizing die. Also makes the brass last longer for more reloads. If you don't heat the neck area, the brass gets brittle and more likely to crack. If it cracks, that's not good. 😊
I have used this machine for annealing a few times and the case prep tools. I love this annealer and wouldn't change anything except maybe a better thingy for holding the torch. More 308, 223 and 30-06 coming up this fall. 😊😊
Just an old habit I guess when I turn the brass and run it through again. Kind of checking that the case is completely and evenly sized. Thanks! I do like this machine a lot and gonna do a video on using the case prep section. 😊

Nice video thanks for sharing!
Thanks! I appreciate that! 😊
Have you used this anymore since the video? Curious to see what your impression is after almost a year!

You need water in the pan to correctly anneal the cases
Ok, Thanks! 😊
That is incorrect
Why do you run the brass twice in the sizing die? Nice annealing machine there I'm jealous
