I've been intrigued with this kit and wondered how it fit.The spacer to mount the cover really helped figure that out.Great video.

Very helpful -I followed this on 2016 FLHR step by step and on 1st start the bike struggled to find the air but eventually worked out and sounds great.

Now all you need is an external breather kit with a catch can from DK customs so you don't get all that Gunk back in your engine 😂 😂 yeah baby do it right

I’m a fan of using a battery operated 1/4” drive impact on removing everything.
    Zip zip zip done
And a torque wrench to install

Hey, Can you answer a technical ? for me please, I have a 2000 HD Road King Police w/ Magneti Marelli fuel injection. Straight off the Lot I had WAUGH HD put V&H pipes on it , and the Screaming Eagle Stage I Breather kit , I now have the Vance Pro Pipe 2 into one on it with a Power Commander 3 I think . Dynoed , etc. My question is : Will the Arlen Ness Big Sucker purchase be worth the $160 if I already have the HD S Eagle breather ? Are they the same ? I'm really limited with the Magnetti Marelli restrictions. CARY in Va.

Thanks - great video. Does the air filer element have any sort of gasket or o ring against the backing plate?

Excellent video. I’m doing a stage 1 using the Big Sucker, Rhinehart 4” exhaust, and an FP3. Got the pipes on first, had to come see your video before I install the Big Sucker. You made it look easy enough for a red butt baboon to put on. Thanks.

Crazy when you read the directions it comes with this is literally how it should come out lol but hey! Some of us are visual learners and maybe can’t read basics ;). Stay safe my friends! Sunday humor btw! If you ride a Harley and act like a bitch, just get a sissy bar and start it up in your garage and sit in the back and complain about everything in life lol 😅😝

Wait up, what about the breather tube? Is it blocked off or condemned? If so, then your check engine light will go ON the dash.

on the '97 dyna kit, each hollow breather bolt has a circular hole on one side that apparently must line up with the breather hole on the backplate. Are the threads designed so the bolt hole lines up with the hole on the backplate when torqued down to proper specs? If the bolt holes don't line up with the backplate hole you won't get any airflow. I'm thinking you have to mark the top of the bolt where the hole is and then you try to line it up with the backplate hole? This was not discussed in this video. Seems to me this is important.

Great videos as always. Thank you for them. I’m scheduled to get the HD service dept to install my FP3, Arlen Ness A/C and V&H shortshots for me. But I’m thinking, I can install the AC and FP3 on my own and have them is tall the short shots for me - ultimately saving me money on labour. By installing those two pieces on my own and then driving to the service dept and having them instal the short shots, will it cause any damage to my iron883 along the way, do you think? Thx

Do they make shorter standoffs for these? my kit came already installed on the softail i bought this summer. I bought a replacement stage 1 air filter and it is too short. The standoffs are way too long so there is a big gap.

Removing breather bolts using 7/16", then, installing the breather bolts using 1/4".
Additionally, appears the breather hose was not installed while watching the video.
    Pls explain.

    • @FatHeadCycles

The breather hoses were not reinstalled because the Big Sucker does away with them. It allows the heads to breath through the bolts directly into the backing plate. Great question.

You're never supposed to use petroleum based grease with O-rings, petroleum based grease dissolves rubber... Trust me I know firsthand, I have disassembled parts that had O-rings that were installed with petroleum-based Grease, and the old O-rings were like a rubbery liquid. You can get a silicone based grease specifically made for O-rings for a couple of bucks at a hardware store in the faucet section...

You are correct. The actual bolt diameter is not 7/16". The message that I was trying to convey is that you need a 7/16" socket to remove the bolts.
