thank you for attention to detail and realizing a video that needed to be shot because here i am 3 years later watching this vid and it has been helpful and 3 years later they are still putting those same crappy directions in the box lol
Really enjoyed your video, VERY informative. I just got the same air cleaner and it was funny that the pictures were so hard to see. Thanks so much for making my install easy. Much appreciated..
Did the same mod with my 114 and retained my stock HD cover. Since the breather bolts on mine have a nipple on the end i'm going to drill thru the backplate and reroute the breather lines to a catch can and get that nasty oil mist out of my air intake box
Sandy thank you very much for putting this video out, I was searching for the same exact thing to retain the stock look of my 2017 street glide great video I appreciate you.
Best inforformative, and simple to follow instructions by far than all the others that I have search for. I appreciate you taking the time to explain the "how" and "why" you did things, and actually explained each step. I am pretty good with twisting wrenches and following instructions, I am not a fan of trying to figure out how and why somthing was done a certain way.... Again; many thanks!!🙂🙂
I have the same bike!! Added the Rinehart DBX45s and 12” Miter Bars so far. Was looking into air cleaners and I didn’t even think about keeping the og cover?? Didn’t know that was possible? Thanks Brotha! Ima look into this one now! 🤙🏼
Hey Holy ShiFt I found the Arlen Ness BIG sucker air filter system a few days ago. Knowing they'd have "suck-rate" pictures with lack-luster install instructions to go with. I'm glad to have found your video presentation on how to do it properly-not half-@$$ed! Not sure what exhaust system to put with it yet. My H-D will be breathing & sounding good when I'm done!!🤓😎🐻👍🏍️😇🎉😁🏁🦅 Doug
I just installed this same intake on my 19 Ultra. After searching for a video showing this, because the Arlen Ness instructions are awful, I just gave up and did it by guess work. This video is excellent. Best one on the web. Thanks for taking the time to do this. You'll save someone a lot of time pulling hair, trying to decipher the shitty instructions.
Joseph Saavedra - dude I enjoy making these videos! Because of good people like you that share and comment my channel is growing- and for that I am thankful to you ! 🙏🏻👍🏻
@@HOLYSHIFT It's my pleasure. I'm in Boca Raton Florida. Looking to get back on two wheels by this year's end. I'll definitely go up there and ride with you guys.
Hey Sandy. Great video there. I think you're right. You might have the only vid on installing the Big Sucker. I'm the proud owner of a new to me 2018 Road King and this air cleaner is on my list. Thanks for taking time to do this tutorial. New sub'r here.
Careful using a 3/8 drive torque wrench down low - if that's what you did. Easy to covert a low ft lb torque to inch pounds, and then use your 1/4 drive. Anyway that's a nice looking setup but I route my hot gases into a DK catch can currently and not into the throttle body.
Thanks for the interesting video, I just put the HD high flow air filter on mine. Imam a little nervous to see the small screws that, if for any reason came loose, would be sucked into the valves and cylinders.
I just want to.say thanks. As you know I'm a fan . I just got this air cleaner and remembered I watched this video when you first put it out. But went back to it today just for reference while doing install. Did that My new tab exhaust and tuner today but five minutes after I finished it started pouring. Jersey weather what are you going to do. Wish I knew you.were.looking for a sports tee I just sold my nightster 1200N to get my 2019 Electra glide standard.
Awesome video. I just got the Arlen Ness Big Sucker for my 2017 SGS 107 and this video is exactly what I was looking for to install my air cleaner. The instructions are horrible and vague. Thank you.
Hi I have a question. I did buy this high flo filter and some people said I need a Tune after changing the air filter. What is the minimum that must be done to the tune? Sorry my English isn't very good apologize. PS by the way love your video :)
Great instructional video. I was about to order the big sucker for my 107 to go with some Reinhart slip ons and a V&H FP4. Have you been happy with the big sucker performance wise?
pat c at low RPM when hitting the throttle the response is way way more snappy. I believe that at higher speeds I’m getting more horsepower because of higher and faster air speed coming into the carburetor - although I cannot prove it only by riding it for that I will need a dyno sheet.
should have put on a ghost pipe as looks odd with only 1 exhaust. Not a fat of the design of the exhaust as almost impossible to add an oil catch can as i dont want my blow by going back into my engine
You gotta get a Power Vision and dump the FP3. Your bike will run soooo much better. I had an FP3. Its not good. You think it is until you try a different tuner. The PV is so much more versatile
Thanks for the video. I plan on putting one of these on my '18 Road King in a couple of weeks. Any chance you could post the instructions Arlen Ness sent you? Did they provide a link or attach a file?
@@HOLYSHIFT Thanks, I just noticed you're in NJ, I think south by the looks of some of your videos. I am up near Hamilton. I don't ride south too much. I do most of my riding along the river NJ/PA up into NW New Jersey. See you on the road. Check out some of my rides up to Old Mine Road.
Look again carefully at the installation- in this design the drainage of the breather is casted into the base piece and the oil fumes are directed into the air mistake directly into the carburetor
The original version of this system spits, which is why they added the reservoir to the inner side of the backplate. Any leakage will now trickle down and collect (theoretically) into the reservoir where it can be cleaned out when periodically servicing the filter.
Excellent video showing step by step instructions. Arlen Ness’ installation instructions are very poor and the black & white picture references are even worse.
Hi Sandy. I just ordered the Arlen Ness air cleaner kit. It's not nicely chromed like yours, rather just natural cast aluminum color. Did you have any problems with the filter collapsing slightly when you tightened it down? Here's a video of wheat I was trying to say. ua-cam.com/video/OhubzTaU1do/v-deo.html
Hi . The filter that’s being used in the video you sent me is a Harley filter element not Arlen ness. Look at the Harley logo on that aluminum plate. I didn’t have any problems
Def best video on installing a AN air clean on UA-cam bar none. Thanks good job.
I'm putting this on tomorrow. Most detailed video on UA-cam. Thank you

Looks great Sandy and awesome solution to get more air and still maintain that stock look! Nicely done!
Thanks for this vid. I also like the stock look of the air cleaner, so now I know a cool looking option I have. I have a 2019 Electra glide standard.

Can you do a video on the install of the fuel pak
I feel like you’re missing out on 1/4 of the potential airflow from the top where the oem cover, covers.
Nice.
So it forces you to take the blow by oil mix back into the intake? I have a catch can installed to get around the filter.
Good video next step cam!!!

Thanks great channel
Thanks buddy
I have the same air cleaner.
Hey buddy great review! What tune does it need? I did the SE heavy breather install and trying to figure out what tune I want
I used the the Vance and Hines fuel pack 3 tuner with the presets they had. And it works great

What happened to the vent hoses shouldn't you be using them ?
Look again carefully at the installation- in this design the drainage of the breather is casted into the base piece and the oil fumes are directed into the air mistake directly into the carburetor
Do you have to recharge it like a K&N, or is it water proof?
Yes you recharge it.
Lot of reviews say this filter spits oil... any experience with that?
The original version of this system spits, which is why they added the reservoir to the inner side of the backplate. Any leakage will now trickle down and collect (theoretically) into the reservoir where it can be cleaned out when periodically servicing the filter.
Did you get engine codes after install
Nothing!
👍👏👏👊
I want to know if Bergen Harley owned up to it and gave your money back?
Haha … no they didn’t! They gave me store credit- I used that a few days later…😀
Does this affect the fuel economy?
DJ Chris for sure ! More fuel coming in ... But I don’t know how much it changes. I don’t really care either....😀
You saved my weekend install. The directions suck 💩. Thank you 🙏
Haha - glad to help
How much has it leak oil. Big sucks tend to leak
Nothing up to now
Has a built in catch can, I suppose if you never clean it out then it will leak.
Tuner your bike?
Vance and Hines fuel pack tuner
Thank you for the video. I threw away the instructions and just watched you.
