Got an Artist MkII head recently and it's far and away the best guitar purchase I've ever made that isn't an actual guitar. It's wild how much I can do, I have a setting for Nile and a setting for Van Halen and a setting for cleans a la Ozzy No More Tears album. I still have barely scratched the surface of the capabilities of it, I absolutely love it. Oh and if you like chorus, the DC-30 option is insanely fun.

Why ever should you buy any other transistor practice amp for playing at home when the 50 is only 200 bucks and can do literally everything you'll ever need at home, including being a full fledged recording interface, including DI signal and reamping?)

Back surgery is no joke. Damn near cured my sciatica 19 years ago tho and I’m young. 🤷‍♂️ glad you’re feeling well! Be careful lifting those cabs and amps.

The Gen 3 Katana has a "bloom" button switch above the Amplifier Volume control but appears to be missing on your amp! I don't understand because my Katana Gen 3 head does have that bloom button! Maybe the combo doesn't have that function???

Tried these along Artist model and got Line 6 DT25 combo over them as it sounded better, just couldn't get Katana to sound they way DT25 does. Has the cut, but kinda lacks sound stage or resonance or just has odd sound signature curve as default.

I have the MKII. The contour, solo and some other new knobs are not physically present but I get them through the Boss Tone Studio. I'd love to be able to crank it at 50% without freaking out. It'd be interesting to know if they upgraded the speaker (that was already good).

I'd be interested to hear a closed back combo amp version. I know the head and cab version is closed back. Just curious if it's a little punchier or maybe had a little more low end. I always felt those qualities were important to the tone I seek.

tried the gen 2 i believe in a music shop with a humbucker strat.
even on the brown channel it still has really low gain even with the gain knob maxed out and the booster effect on.
tho the videos of the katana and the mini ola has made sounds freaking AMAZING.

Its weird cuz i try the same thing but 50 watt with cheap 200ish usd humbucker guitar at the same store and it sound brutal as f**k , even if i detuned the guitar to drop f which make the string extremely floppy

Something in the presets probably caused that. The brown channel has definitely enough gain to make you push brown. Lol
