    Steamed steak and burnt garlic! My favourite 😂

  • @Tabfren
    @Tabfren Рік тому +21

    The only part of that steak that was medium was the little end piece that got cooked in the bean sprouts, a $40 meal at best, not sure where they justified the other $200

    • @tanindunn8379
      @tanindunn8379 Рік тому +1

      The steak alone is valued at more than $40. That's a $65-80 dollar cut of beef. Not trying to argue, so keep in mind, I didn't set the prices.

    The amount of time the chef spent on cooking the garlic was agonizing to watch! In the meantime, everything including the grill was overcooking!

  • @jakerson181
    @jakerson181 Рік тому +15

    The way it was served, plateless and on the edge of the grill reminds me of the Taiwan night market videos he used to do. But there he was paying $16, not $240.

    Sorry but that was not medium...Most of the pieces were mid-rare...And the amount of time this guy played with the garlic was a bit too much...For that price for food, I would expect someone who knows how to cook it properly...👍🙏

  • @brocky
    @brocky Рік тому +17

    They brought the front desk greeter to cook your food this time. He was tossing that garlic like he wanted to make a paste. Cook the steak a little bit longer and he would've achieved "rare."

    The rice looks like it’s not cook correctly(it’s sticking together, this is suppose to be fried rice), the steak is not medium, and the beansprout is not cook evenly. For that price, I would be angry for getting only two ingredients for the rice. Either the chef is new, have a bad day, or is a back guy who’s covering the chef who’s probably on break.

    This is what corporate America looks like. The more exquisite and pricey your lifestyle is the more boring and disconnected you are to everything you experience like this teppanyaki.
    The teppanyaki chefs down the street at my local restaurant know how to entertain a crowd more than this but ya know it's like those expensive paintings maybe us peasants don't understand the art y'all pay for.

    I am not an expert, but if we judge the work of this chef by similar videos from your channel, then this person only became a chef yesterday. There's too much fuss and unnecessary movements, the whole stove has become so dirty, from carbon deposits and spices, other cooks are constantly wiping the stove, he messed with garlic the most, damn, let him just fry on both sides! 😂

    Somehow this seems like teppanyaki made by someone who's heard it described, rather than actually trained at it. All the subtleties seen in other videos are lacking, the food itself lacks the sophistication of the other restaurants, and the degree of cooking seems off. Underdone meat (for medium), partially burnt onion and garlic chips, and the fried rice is just basic. Not bad necessarily, but not good for the price.

    I bet they use canola oil. I personally stay away from canola oil because it is really rapeseed oil which naturally contains a toxic substance called eruric acid. I use both avocado oil and olive oil exclusively. Otherwise, this is a beautiful video!

    • @mv2559
      @mv2559 Рік тому +5

      Olive and avocado oil are terrible for meat, they are not supposed to be used for this. Grape seed oil may be the best for this

    • @Sogeking995
      @Sogeking995 Рік тому

      The FDA and EU require canola to be less than 2% erucic acid and rapeseed has significantly less naturally than other brassica seeds. It’s also worth noting there are zero conclusive human studies linking erucic acid to toxicity. UA-cam health bros that sell coconut and avocado oil have an agenda too.
