    Came here from a facebook ad.
    This looks like a fun game/toy for non-archers but the whole training tool talk on their kickstarter page is basically nonsene.
    Well done on your side presenting it though. Gaming folk might enjoy it.

      Markus, you are right. It's a lot of hot-air talk. Dry-fire arrows, reverse archery, training, strength-building? It's a 20 lb. draw at MOST! I'm a short female who shoots a 33 lb. left-handed recurve. They never answered me and others about draw weight or handedness until they got the fund-raisers in place.
      ⛔BEWARE giving money to this. It looks sketchy.

    So do I need to buy just the arrow and it works by itself or do I need to also buy the "Intelligent Wireless Display Adaptor" item along with it for my smarttv? Do you charge the bow, does it come with a charger? Does it not work with a PS4 Vr headset?

    • @VikingPrincessVR
      @VikingPrincessVR  2 місяці тому +1

      This bow (the HOUYI2) is not compatible with VR. You use it with a mobile app that you cast to your TV or computer monitor.
      As long as you have a reliable way to cast from your cell phone to your TV, you don't need the Intelligent Wireless Display Adaptor.
      The Artemis Bow is advertised as being VR compatible, but I am not sure if that's ready yet: wonderfitter.com/products/artemis-smart-gaming-bow
      I reviewed the Artemis Bow in November, and it was not ready at that time, and I haven't received any update that it is.

    Hi there! Wonderfitter had confirmed in the KS campaign that the manual explained how this could be used for lefties. Could anyone provide any information as to how this would work since most risers are molded for the handedness? Any info would be super appreciated! Thanks!

    • @VikingPrincessVR
      @VikingPrincessVR  7 місяців тому +1

      Hello! I went back and had a look at the material they sent me, and I didn't see anything specifically talking about left-handedness. However, the riser is uniform, so I can easily change hands when holding it (there are no finger grooves). The arrow shaft is mounted on the left, but I am not experienced enough to know if that would offset your aim too much. You do calibrate the bow before playing, so I assume that helps too. In short - I have no idea :P But I did change hands while playing a few times (when getting tired etc.) without problems. This is the contact page on their website: wonderfitter.com/en-ca/pages/contact All the best!

      @@VikingPrincessVR Thank you for the information! I was planning on using it on the range for my beginner buddies, since its a functional bow so the calibration thing would be out of the question. T,. T I'll reach out to them directly through the KS page as well, thanks again!!!

    are there options for left handed archers

    • @VikingPrincessVR
      @VikingPrincessVR  6 місяців тому

      Wonderfitter does advertise that the bow is for both right and left-handed archers, and it feels comfortable to hold with both hands. But I am not sure about any other adjustments they would make on the assembly of the bow to better fit left-handers. I would recommend that you reach out to Wonderfitter directly for a better description. This is the contact page on their website: wonderfitter.com/en-ca/pages/contact

    • @VikingPrincessVR
      @VikingPrincessVR  Рік тому

      ROFL! The result of not reading the instructions 😜🤣 Turns out, the calibration is really easy - and in the end, I preferred setting it slightly to the side of the target - so I could better see!

    So this instructor told you that the right hand just stays by your check and does nothing???? Considering the right hand ( if your right handed shooter) controls your anchor point and the most import part the release of the arrow. It doesn't do much???
    Also scoring is whole number and not . smoothing it' scored x, 10, 9, 8, 7 etc and not 9.5 , 8.4 or whatever.
    .just seems like a toy extension of the archery game apps.

    • @VikingPrincessVR
      @VikingPrincessVR  Рік тому +1

      She never said to keep the hand at my "check" (I assume you mean cheek), and she never said it did "nothing." She pointed out that in terms of aiming, the entire body positioning is more important than just the positioning of your hands -- which is how VR games (the theme of my channel) use to aim.
      As shooting in the app was significantly easier than shooting a real bow, I appreciated them adding the decimal points to create more diversity in the scores and broadening the skill level.
      And yes, it is an additional tool to archery apps. That is the point. It gives access to a more immersive archery experience than other games and apps and gives people who don't have access to archery ranges and gear the opportunity to participate in a very rewarding sport.

    • @official_ammowarrington
      @official_ammowarrington Рік тому +1

      Approx 5min20seconds "With the right hand not contributing at all" if the so called instructor told you that then you have been lied too.
      If the release of the arrow is not smooth etc then your shot will be out.
      This will never be a good training device for archery as 1mm out is approximately 28" at 70m when shooting a real bow. This has not got the technology to take in all the variables for shooting a real bow.

    • @VikingPrincessVR
      @VikingPrincessVR  Рік тому

      @@official_ammowarrington You are taking this very much out of context - as I was comparing the aiming feel of a real bow to how it is in VR -- which, again, my channel is all about and what my subscribers and audience is used to as well. This was my way of describing the difference I felt - not my instructors.
      I don't believe the aim of this system is to replace archery. As someone who does not have a bow or does not go to a range, it is a great, fun tool that I can use to stay active at home and gives me a more immersive experience than other virtual VR setups. Just as virtual boxing can never replace real-life boxing, I would never expect virtual archery to replace real-life archery. But that doesn't mean that the wonder fitter bow is a bad system. It is a lot of fun and still something I would recommend to my friends - especially those who are looking for new entertaining ways to stay active from the comfort of their homes.

    Instead of visiting the archery club for help, you should’ve spent 30 days on an immersive, intensive course in Chinese. 😂

  • @primmoore6232
    @primmoore6232 Рік тому

    This is a fancy game, not a real trainer. Aiming an arrow doesn't work like that at all! That bow has no way to increase the draw weight to help build strength. There are many steps a beginner needs to learn that this system cannot train, like fitting an arrow on the string, stance, breathing, smooth release and follow-through. 👎
    BTW, it's *nocking* point, not "notching" point. I hope you're having fun with this gadget, but don't expect to become a skilled archer with this.

    • @VikingPrincessVR
      @VikingPrincessVR  Рік тому +1

      I definitely don't expect to become a skilled archer from playing a virtual at-home game -- just as I don't expect to become a skilled boxer from playing VR boxing games 😉
      I don't believe the goal is to replace traditional archery - but to introduce it to people that otherwise don't have access, and to provide a good workout at the same time. I definitely think they deliver on this, and it did make me curious and motivated to spend more time with real archery.
