    Obviously it cost a fuck ton to ship fresh foods 100s of miles through the snow where there's barely a road

      +Mr. Goldstein Lots of the northern towns, it has to be flown in

      There are NO roads in or out of Nunavut or between communities! NWT and Quebec and Ontario all have northern communities that are fly in only... honestly its hard to feed a family in most of these remote communities!

      +Jonathan Wood Like it should be: to fly stuff in by air is expensive. Who should flip the bill? The people who choose to live in isolated places or the tax payers?

    I have known someone who lived up there. It is VERY expensive for stuff to be shipped in. That is why I think the government should start building HUGE warehouses for hydroponically grown food. As well as working at building solar/tidal/wind farms. It will be expensive as well as take a few years to come to fruition, but in the long run it will turn the area around for cost of living. If anyone does not think that the north is vital to Canada, you may need a few courses in a few things, but that aside being able to bring self sustaining agriculture to the north will expand the areas that people are willing to live in.

      +SquirrelNutMafia they won't do this because it would require them to work hard and study, and learn the white man science which is apparently racist.

      Either you are a troll or ignorant (meaning uninformed and not an insult), but the wording in your post makes comes across as that of an proudly ignorant (an insult) racist. I just hope that you are not Canadian as posts like that from people who live here sadden me.
      For anyone else who happens to read this. the northern areas do naturally have a large Inuit population, but there are a lot of other nationalitiesup there as well. Many people move up there for the money when they are young or recently immigrating to Canada and end up loving the north.
      Norma, since you seem to have such a low opinion of other colours please do most of us a favor and only talk to your own kind. To ensure this don't go online, I hear you may encounter some of 'them folk' on it.

    To be fair, at this point I think Disney feels inspired by Way North Foods prices.

    How do food prices in Nunavut compare to food prices in Inuvik of Northwest Territories? Does the fact that there is a road going to Inuvik actually help?

    This is exactly the type of parody commercial I wish people would make about American health insurance companies, to educate people on how fucked up our health care system is.

    I say raise the prices way higher. If they're dumb enough to live in that shitty place then they're dumb enough to pay the prices.

    Chooses to live in isolation. Complains about the cost of goods being shipped to the middle of nowhere.

      Nunavut isn't isolated. I live in Iqaluit and we have people here. It's just sparsely populated

    too cheap

  • @normabutts9857
    @normabutts9857 8 років тому +1

    This is PURE lies. The reason why its really expensive is that a lot of perishables have to be brought in by air as there are often no roads, or rail to these isolated and remote communities.

    • @carultch
      @carultch 6 років тому

      What about the extreme places in Northwest Territories, where there actually is a road? Does the road actually end up helping with making food in Inuvik more affordable than food in Iqaluit?

  • @Dilandau88

    I can't feel sorry for them. They chose to live in the middle of Butt F nowhere, so what do you expect? The logistics of shipping in fresh veggies to desolate places like Nunavut cost $$, sorry.

      If you actually wanted to move, you would. Stop looking for handouts and take some self responsibility

    • @normabutts9857
      @normabutts9857 8 років тому

      +n20 wheels Take some responsibility. If you want to live like how the south lives, then move to the south. Stop pretending the canadian tax payer owes you to live in desolate places by southern standards. Live like your ancestors, hunt and fish and don't use the internet or demand fresh fruit (holy shit, flying califorina grown produce to the arctic is STUPID). Build a greenhouse. Do something then complain about a fact of life that AIR travel is expensive, but less expensive than building a road. Alternatively, fund a toll road to the north.

      what hand outs? what kind of hand outs are you talking about? we don't get no hand outs!!! lol what kind of drugs are you on? we have the same thing up north as you do down south, we have welfare, jobs and food! stop using the internet? it was the people south who gave it to us! who flew up the food? it was people from the south! people don't give us shit! so get your facts straight moron # 2 lol, god people now a days! uneducated and completely fucked in the head!

      +n20 wheels stop with the LIES!!!! If you want to live like in paris, go live in paris. If you want to live with the amenities of the modern world, come to the modern world. Do not live in bum-fuck-nowhere. If food is so expensive, HUNT! Eat fish, meat but DO NOT BE DEMANDING OF FRUITS AND VEGGIES GROWN IN CALIFORNIA!
      Stop being so entitled.
