Good evening and thanks for joining me for some classic DEATH METAL !!
For me, they are one of my two favorite bands from Tampa Florida and during the 90's they enchanted us with what was happening in the metal scene in the United States. Greetings from Chile and when you have time visit my channel!
Great video! Happy New Year!! 🍻🙏
Always love seeing a fresh vid from you pal!!!!! Keep 'em coming!!
Thanks for ripping these classics🤘
God bless you and have a great 2024
It't not possible for me to choose one of them. Both of them are masterpieces.
This!
Leprosy is for me the best Death Metal Album ever!
Which is kinda funny because for me Slowly We Rot is the best death metal album ever
@@TFFAN16can't go wrong either way. Both winners
@@AxeMain agreed. Both bands are GOATed!
It's def legit. I know what I'm listening to on the way to work today.
Can't cosign with that but definitely has a special place for me. It's the first death metal album I picked up. Have a flag of the cover hanging in my cave.
I’m nearly 50’ and still love these albums as much as when they first came out when I was in high school
💪💪💪💪
Both are among my favorites but it is hard to compete with Chuck.
Death got progressively more tech and proggy. Obituary never changed from their basic chuggy thrash. And I'm amazed they've managed 3 decades with the same formula. Or that their 2 recent albums are some of their best ever.
I was about to post a similar comment about the last two OBITUARY albums, I absolutely love them.
It ain't some sort of nostalgia thing, they kick ass through and through.
Like a fine, fermented and fuzzy, lethal wine...
Last Obituary was good but honestly, I find them boring after the first few albums. Debut is best. Death on the other hand were always exciting for me. Best death metal band. RIP Chuck ✌🏾🤘🏾
Obituary for many was an acquired taste. Johns vocals are stretched out so long it’s crazy. Maybe it’s the fact they grew up in Tampa, my hometown or they’re unique sorrowful solos, from the second slowly we rot was on, I was loving it.
Couldn’t believe my ear holes.
They’re new shit is solid as always. The formula is bitter, dark and dreadfully perfect.
Love both bands, interesting to compare their riff styles side by side. Death more melodic and technical but no one goes as hard on big solid chunky riffs like Obituary.
In Trevor We Trust.
2 of the greatest death metal albums of all time 🤘🤘
1*
Obitchuary bad
the best for me is bolthrower the v crusade
The two essential records on how to do Death Metal properly
Slowly we rot will always be my number one death metal album, followed closely by cause of death
Two fantastic records. I feel privileged to have witnessed their release.
chief!
These albums flow from one to the other so well. In honor of this video I spun them back to back while lifting today! 🤘🏻
Leprosy just has to many more bangers and memorable solos for me. "Slowly we rot" is a good death metal album! however, I think in terms of evolution and such at this point... Chuck was a little more well rounded in his approach to his own craft, enough to line our ears a little more with gold for sure. awesome playing man!
Good old days, good ol' death metal... brilliant! 🤩
Death smokes Obituary. Death has to happen before there's an Obituary, so....there's that.
RIP Chuck Schuldiner.
Am I the only freak that still has both of these albums on cassette? Heavily worn....
Great upload brother. Both of these albums bring back memories. 🤘
The best album in the Death Metal, Slowly We Rot And Leprosy
Classic!! For me "Leprosy" takes it.
There is always something so brutal about obituary riffs… I’d could agree… but call it a tie!!! If obituary was the end complete album, I think obituary would edge it out!
@@SouthernOregonReps Absolutely love "The End Complete". That opening duo of "I'm In Pain" and "Back To One" is as perfect as it gets!!!
@@schillinger7814totally agree with that.
🎸🎶🎵🤘👍
I'm more familiar with Death than I am with Obituary, but all these riffs are killer!!! I will have to look at Obituary more closely.
Thanks for another awesome video! 🙏
The first three albums are the spawn of satan himself. Absolutely killer.
Same
Definitely can't go wrong with those, it's a good start.
same here. time to dig in
Obituary is still putting out killer albums
Those two band are all my life ! Thank you so much 🫶🤘
It's quite unusual to hear this when talking about ᦔꫀꪖᡶꫝ metal
You have issues
The soundtrack to my highschool days in the early 90s. Can't believe how many years I've been spinning these albums!!🤘
Same here, class of 91. Death is my life line and always will.
chief!
These two albums plus Carcass Reek & Symphonies was my high school days.
3:48 It's so amazing how "Suffocation"'s riffing is the direct blueprint for Suffocation's oeuvre :D
Leprosy was the first metal album I bought when I was 12 years old. I had no clue what is it I just liked the cover. So we jumped on a train with my class on a school trip and I played it.That first riff just raised hairs on my back and I'm still metalhead 33 years later.Death metal for life🤘
I had a similar experience. I was twelve years old when my brother, who was two years older, brought home an audio cassette of the Leprosy album. Today I am 44 years old and I consider Leprosy to be the best death metal album. Those melodies are absolutely unique, amazing.
Among other things, I am still a big fan of the band Sepultura, during the old line-up with Max. Good luck! 🤘 🙂
@@cendaracing funny you mentioned Sepultura because on the same day and in the same place I also bought the Arise album and it was the second album we listened to on this trip.I scored twice that day.Wjat a beginning of the journey to metal.
Your hair got long bro! Awesome tone, and awesome shredding! Nothing beats both bands. I love that you did this and I like how you meshed the two together, keeping the key. Cheers!
Both pivotal albums love death but slowly we rot just had that rawness to it💥🤘🤘👍
Rad bands
Rad video
There is no loser
Both are winners!!!!
Deicide vs morbid angel 🙏
Another fantastic compilation! Once again from my early days of diving into metal while in high school in the late '80s. Glad to have been old enough to experience these albums when they were released and they still hit hard 30+ years later!🤘😝🤘My girlfriend back then had a government class project of chosing a song that had a political/social issue and not only had to explain the connection, but also got to play the song in front of the class. When she told me that, I told her she had to use Death's Pull The Plug! She agreed and she said most of the class and the teacher were in shock when the song played🤣
Jajaja, that experience in the class was so cool 😂🤟🏻😂🤟🏻😂
🤘HAPPY NEW YEAR'S ALL THE FAN'S🤘 Both of them my favorite 🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝👏👏👏👏👏
⚰RIP CHUCK we miss U⚰
Another excellent video with two death metal staples!
Next Challenge: Ozzy Sabbath v. Dio Sabbath!
unfassbar, wie geil diese riffs hier klingen...
Awesome as always!
This man just amazing love it 😊
I can't Deicide!
😂
Heated battle great 2 legends . Sick playing dude 🤘🏻⚡️💯
Riff battle, that had to be done, awesome stuff as always 🤘🔥
Wow, one of the best videos yet. Two absolute classics. Keep going my dude.
Here he is, TheSuffocator, destroying new wave of metal bullshit breakdowns going to absurd shit with the classic METAL! music!! HAIL!!!
He’s a legend
Шикарно , превосходно. С праздниками вас
If there only be a way to travel back in time and stay in this period.
What a banger video.
Missed you, dude. Great job!
Excellent work again, sir!
I was much more into the primitive bludgeoning of Obituary back then, but both are great records.
It would be great if you could do Entombed V Dismember at some point in the future.
Cheers.
Good shout. That would be a great battle.
Good comparison, I think the last two are the best comparison between the albums. Thanks for bringing more visibility to these classics.
Been subscribed for a long time now, always happy to see a new video from you!
Great as always!
I can see why you compared between these 2 albums. great video as always \m/
congratulations on the video, these are 2 of my favorite bands, in DEATH METAL.
Well you did it again. Back to my youth. What a riffs once again. Can't choose between one of them. Both bands are kickass. When I heard these two bands for the first time I couldn't bring home what it was. Never heard before. But man all my friends and I loved it and still do. This is metal. Your skills man. Wow.
Man, you are wondergul with the guitar, your skill to play it, and make all that transissions are really AMAZING!! You are like s god of guitar
both pretty great 🤘
Not super familiar with either band but i really like the melodic ideas on the death album. That obituary tone and heaviness cant be beat however.
Dude I enjoyed the hell out of that
🤘🏼🖤🤘🏼
This is awesome!
had a great time back there❤
Awesome!
Nem comecei a assistir o vídeo mas já dei o like pelo título
I love both, but Obituary is just simple, heavy and pure fun, and that pushes them ahead IMO.
well done! Leprosy is one of my favorite dm albums
dude you NAILED both tones, tight!
That harmonic on Pull the Plug makes me crazy. Need to be perfect and have a really well setup guitar.
Great video.
Um dos meus álbuns favoritos, saudações de fortaleza Brasil .
I was 15 when I first heard slowly we rot and I’m still picking up pieces of my brain. Those years were so good
I feel you Metalbrother 🤘🏻🔥🎸🤘🏻🍻
Man, I could go a 70 minute album of just one long song of riffs like this.
Perhaps joining a bunch of these vids will be a nice mini project.
Excelente 🤘 Saludos desde Mexico 🇲🇽
Man you're like all the metal guitar players wrapped up in one guy. You are definitely metal!! Kick ass!!
Rad as always my dude!!! I know everyone loves Chuck but Allen West is seriously underrated IMO.
Für mich ein klares unentschieden. Beides sind Legendäre Platten. 🤘
do your thing for a whole album! I would listen every day
Happy new year
Man I love this guy SO MUCH
Excelentes Bandas, ambas me gustan, pero en este caso me quedo con Death, amigo, saludos desde Colombia-Sur América.
Two of the finest pieces of metal ever produced. What a trip this was!
Great!!!! Hello from Italy
You're a cool Metalhero, all your videos are fantastics, Metal forever 🤟🏻🤟🏻😎
Really cool....I hope they dont take this down as they do sometimes...🤟🤟🤟
Mother effer. Now Im sitting here head banging. Thanks man. Love both bands as I am an old school metal head.
Leprosy is my favourite Death album.
Obituary I can take or leave.
Very cool, super heavy🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🍻
The only two death metal bands that send shivers down my spine.
Legendary battle
Great tone! Greetings from BaWü!
Bestial man....🎉🎉
A behind the scenes of your videos would be cool. The making of so to speak.
Another blessing from the lord !
Two of my fav. Death Metal Albums and Bands of all time! 🤘🏻🍻
BRUTAL!!! Rock on 🤘🤘🤘
Must be so cool to have a youtube channel with your twin brother
Both so good ❤
Got to go with Leprosy
Death riffs always sound more "Zig-zaggy" (don't know if this make sense, lol), also with weird dissonant textures, Obituary's riffing is more in your face, and groovy at times. Love them both, and your playing as well. R.I.P. Chuck.
Großartig
Parfait ! 😀💞💕💖
Buenas noches.Feliz año👏👏👏🤘🙋🌞💖
you should do a guitar collection video
my childhood 💜💜💜💀🤘🤘🤘
Both are perfect!!!
Both masterpieces
It's definitely an essential piece of the early death metal puzzle that no fan of the genre should be without, and one that will probably appeal as much to those who took to the outer fringes of the 80s thrash scene, particularly the mid to late 80s work of Slayer and Possessed.
I love them both
As a hardcore punk since the early 90s, Leprosy is the only Death metal album I own - Death metal is not really my thing, but I do love the drumming and absolutely love the track Open Casket and Chucks's voice / vocal style has definitely grown on me.
Both are gold.
